My Thursday Theory is that I have a hard time making decisions. I haven't always been this way and now that I am, I drive myself crazy. Today we had a guy come and give us an estimate on new windows and a front door plus a storm door. These are exceptional quality vinyl windows and they can be the same color inside and out or different. The same way with the door, it can be the same or different. We had decided on the windows being white inside, since I want to change our trim from dark wood to white. Later dh had me in a tizzy. He kept saying how awful the white window would be in the kitchen with the beige-ish backsplash, etc. Finally he started looking on the internet at kitchen pictures. The vast majority had white windows, regardless of what color the walls, backsplash or cabinets were. Plus, we found several that resembled ours and it looked perfectly fine. So the windows will stay white, except he wants the one for his bathroom to be wood tone, so we will change that. We are not signing a contract until Tuesday night.

The reason we are waiting is that dd2 was suppose to close on the new house on Monday. She found out today that her insurance provider isn't done with the binder and therefore the underwriter at the bank won't do anything until it is. So it may be Tuesday before they close. The house they are buying has been totally updated with new windows, trim, interior doors, etc. I have seen the pictures of it but I want to see it in person, to make sure that it is really what I want to do. All of that is white. That is what we have planned to do since we moved in, but we have drug our feet forever. I am only buying windows and doors once, so I want to be happy with them.

I think we have finally decided to go with hardwood floors in the living room, dining room and hallway. We are also going to have them price it with and without the kitchen and dining area.

I have always wanted white French doors to the sunroom, instead of the sliding doors that we have. After talking to the guy today, that will not happen. The walls in the sunroom next to the sliding door are brick. The door would have to be specially made. I can only imagine the price of that. So we are compromising. The glass in the sliding doors are scratched. We will just have it replaced and then we can replace, paint or stain the trim of the our sliding door. It opens very easily and doesn't drag like some do. I would rather do that, so that we don't have to cut corners somewhere else down the line. Although it just hit me that since our sliding door is wood and not metal, they might not be able to replace the glass. Will have to check that out.

All these decisions are driving me crazy.

Okay, dd1 is a school nurse at the Early Child Development Center. She has a family that never gets rid of the lice for more than a day or two. Then they bring the kids to school and won't answer the phone to come and pick them up, when their head is checked. It is a vicious circle and dd1 is seriously thinking of finding another job. She sees so many things and has to turn people in for child endangerment, neglect, etc. The teachers find these things and then it is her job to turn them in and deal with the fallout.
