I got the raised garden bed put together, except for going back and tightening all the nuts down. I think I'll go with where dh wants it. It's a long rectangle and the sun moves east to west over our house. I'd prefer to plan it with a north/south orientation but I'll see if we can live with this.

Shooting today in KC has prompted two emails, a phone call and texts to office secretary this evening. We will put security in place for the seder tomorrow night, in addition to the weekend when we will have unwanted visitors in our city. (See members only)

We are going to friends tomorrow night for Passover. Tomorrow I need to wrap the little hostess gift and p/u wine to take.

Ohh, Twins, I'm sorry I missed seeing earlier about your fall. I hope you don't have any lasting aches or pains!

Ds#2 and family came a little earlier than usual. They left a little earlier after dinner because dgd19 had to go to work to finish the last 3 hours of someone's shift. It was a nice visit though and kitchen is all cleaned up again.

Just talked to ds#3 for a few minutes and they are doing all right, busy as usual. Dgs12 is playing soccer this spring and yesterday was dgd16's Jr. Prom.

Cowinkie, be my guest....anyone is welcome to proclaim "self-maid service".

Having a nice sunny Sunday afternoon, today a couple of walks. Love this mild weather we are having. I am catching up on call the midwife on net flicks.

Sunny, I'm glad you liked the 20-steps, too.

I woke up at 6:30 a.m., with little sleep, so worked on a story by hand, writing a snoring husband into it. Hey! WHERE did I get THAT idea?????

I washed the sheets, helped put them on the bed, wrote 3 letters and sent each a copy of the 20-steps. One's to DD, one's to cousin-in-law and 1 to BFF. I think they'll be glad, too.

It's sunny here, almost 70*, I tried to nap during the Master's gold tourney, but it was too exciting to sleep during it. Wanted the 20 year old to win, but AM happy with who won, too, though. It was so nice. Such beautiful golf course, too. Nice weather there, etc....

Saturday was a beautiful day. No wind, sunny and 87. Today was low 50's, cloudy and very windy. Before 10 pm we noticed it was snowing, as had been forecasted.

Dd2 is very glad that the movers aren't moving them tomorrow, with this forecast. They close at 1:30. She said if the house is too dirty, she is calling a cleaning service. I am anxious to see inside the house, even though I have seen 33 pictures of it before.

Tomorrow I am calling 1 or both of the companies that do ornamental ironwork and ask them about making gates for our arches at our entrance. I got to thinking that if I get those gates then I could have a door with more glass and possibly not by a storm door. I need to get this figured out because the guy is coming Tuesday night to write up the contract for the windows and doors. Those large gates are all about extra security. With our entrance 24 ft. deep and 10+ft wide, it is a long ways in there and we could be being broken into and no on would notice from the street.

Last night the bedroom was stuffy and dh had went to bed ahead of me and was fast alseep. I opened 1 bedroom window. At one point I thought I heard the west gate open and close. But the motion light didn't come on. Just as I about dozed off, I would swear I heard the east gate that is just mere feet from our bedroom window, open and slam shut. I jumped out of bed and closed the window. The motion light still wasn't on. I got out of bed and listened but heard nothing else. When I told dh this morning, he mentioned that we might need to keep the gates padlocked. 3 of the 4 gates unlock from the outside. I was irritated that the fence guy built them that way, but dh was just happy to have the fence done. When dh is gone or we are gone the gates are padlocked but otherwise they have been unlocked. Dh said he will probably put up a mercury vapor light for extra peace of mind.

Dd2 thinks we go overboard about security. She will probably feel differently when she gets moved back to town. The exclusive area that she lives in now, it is 1 1/2 miles from the gate to her house. That area has very little crime.

We finally got around to filing our taxes this afternoon. I had had the figures ready for awhile and we just kept procrastinating. Of course, we owed a little to each. No surprise there. The federal tax owed we could pay with a credit card but our state tax had to be paid either as a debit from our bank account or a check.

Yesterday dh and his motorcycle friend took a ride for the day. Dhs hips were hurting afterwards. He thinks he needs to take a 2 or 3 day trip later on to make sure he can handle it. Late July they leave for a full 2 week trip thru the Pacific NW.They intend to hit any state west of here that they haven't previously been in on their bikes. Next year they plan to hit the Northeast. When they finish that trip they will have been in every state but Alaska and Hawaii. His friend has already told dh that after next year's trip, he is retiring from bike trips. I am hoping that dh will feel the same way, but I am not holding my breath on that one. This guy is the one that was having marriage problems a year ago and had the girl friend on the side. Once he came to his senses over that, he worked real hard at rebuilding his wife's trust in him. They have been able to put it behind them and are very happy.

Well I better get to bed. It is going to be a very busy week............

Ivy, I was pretty much rooting for Watson, so was happy. Yes, the younger player will be a favorite, for sure. Happy that Couples did so well at 54. It's not always just a young man's game. So much plays into it, and I like that.

HUGE day yesterday, and wore me to exhaustion! Highland Games were so spectacular. 10,000 people over the 2 days. We ate haggis (dd is not a fan) and potatoes for lunch. I walked back to get extra water for the boys when they were thirsty at their events. Met a few of the special guests and had nice conversations. DangerBoy earned a stuffed toy Highland Cow (Hairy Coo) by filling out answers to questions on a new game - questions to ask at particular Clan tents, and it took a while. He has great printing for a 7-year-old!

They have just added wrestling to the children's games and our boys certainly held their own (is that a pun?) WonderBoy was a year younger than any other boy, so it was a little tough on him and the organizers could hardly find him an even match-up. But he tried very hard, wrestling against much bigger boys, and was complimented by the organizers at the end for being a good sport. DangerBoy soundly won his first match-ups and was finally knocked out at last round. They had a lot of fun. Back home, Grandpa gave lessons in triangulating with your foot placement to hold your ground. So funny - great big bearded Grandpa, tiiiiny little skinny boys.

Birthday party meal was over and boys had been sent out to play. I was arranging the cupcakes. WonderBoy burst into the kitchen to announce that little britches "is spraying us with deer spray!" The momentary confusion had Dsonil and I wide eyed with understanding pretty fast, especially when the odor wafted toward us. I'd forgotten that dstepson found an aerosol can of deer urine on a walk through the woods and brought it back to the barn, thinking it shouldn't lie out there. We were to ask the neighbors if it was theirs.

Ohmigoodness! Phhheeww- eee! Boys were stripped naked on the steps and marched unceremoniously into the shower in the front bathroom, where they were soon sorted out and scrubbed by an indignant dd34 and then endured a lecture from dsonil about ANY spray bottles EVER. Extra clothes passed around. Laundry started. Cupcakes enjoyed by all. I don't think ds29 has stopped laughing yet.

All gifts were big hits.

Also we played a game their family likes - Munchkin. Anyone know this? It's not new, but new to me. A milder, sillier take on an adventure game without role-playing. Every card in the huge deck is different, with funny cartoon pictures, and it is the most confusing game I've ever played! There were cards that only worked if it was a Saturday, etc. Fine print at the bottom of a card would tell oddities about using it that would have everyone doing a lot of reading and scratching their heads. One card I drew said that a cat had jumped on the dice, so use that card when another player had a good roll, so they'd have to roll again. Lots of laughs. Fun for lots of ages, but adults needed, for all the reading.

Thinking I can do at least part of that tomorrow morning.

Took a spill in the chickens run I was grateful for the padding I landed on I am fine but am sporting a new bruise on my outter thigh.
