A Mid-month Monday

Good morning to each of you as April marches along!

Yes it is just about mid-month isn't it... Tomorrow at some point dd & I plan to go to Magic Kingdom to Small World in celebration of Zoe, dgd who would be 3 tomorrow. DD won't be home till late & it's supposed to rain, but we will go. DS-A & family left their rain ponchos with us so we'll use them if we need to.

Been up since 7 but am only s2s, bed made, meds done & just finishing breakfast. For some reason my left leg is just plain aching.

Your visit to Magic Kingdom sounds meaningful for you and DD, Dee. I hope it is enjoyable too.

Well, the weather here is really crazy. Yesterday, we were up to 78* - I think that is a new record high. Right now it is 65* and extremely windy. Our power is currently out, but our wifi seems to be working fine. So glad we have a gas stove top now - we can still cook. Tonight, we're getting down into the 20s and we're forecast to get 1-3 inches snow. The high tomorrow is forecast to be 37*. Then, we'll quickly bop back up to the 60s by Thursday.

This morning: I have driven GG to school, responded to an organizational email re: dd18's small group -- some of the moms want to do a special get together w/ a meal and prayer time and special gifts for the girls as they graduate this spring. Some of these moms are a little (some are a lot!) more sentimental than I am, but it's all good. . .I am a Myers-Brigg T (Thinking) not F (Feeling) - related to how you make decisions, if anyone goes for personality tests, and I've learned to appreciate my more emotionally-oriented friends and acquaintances over time. I then s2s-ed and have just made my 2nd mug of tea. Dd15 is staying home a couple hours this morning to catch up on hw, of which she has a lot after missing one day of school and then being gone for all of spring break, all due to the France trip. She is jetlagging and had a busy weekend and so hasn't had time to do hours of catch up. Dd18 just left for a Dr.'s appt. Since she is 18, I'm sending her by herself. I don't mind - and neither does she. . .

So, I'm not sure if I'm going to the groc. store today or not. I don't know if they have power or not - and I'm not going to fill my fridge while the power is out here.

On with the a.m. routine. I won't be doing laundry today either, I guess.

Power is off at the high school; I suspected that when I dropped off GG and saw that the stoplight at the nearby intersection was out and the school was dark. It sounds like the administration is keeping kids in their 1st hour classrooms as they try to decide what to do. Dd15 has been in touch with GG and another friend.

Wind in areas with lots of mature trees (e.g. our town and specifically our neighborhood) doesn't usually have a happy result.

I'm going to power off now so maybe I can use this laptop later. It's battery drains pretty quickly.

We woke up to several inches of snow on the ground and a hard freeze. Tonight there will be another hard freeze. Our trees were just beginning to leaf out, so don't know how this will affect them.

Dh has a guy who will come some time this week and measure our living room, dining room and hallway for a hardwood floor. Still waiting on the guy to measure for carpet, that I called 3 weeks ago. Both men are super busy so we will have a waiting period. But both are the best in their business and will be worth waiting for.

Guess I better iron something to wear and hit the shower. Breakfast and meds are done.

Helia, this crazy weather seems to be spread over a large part of the US. Hope your power comes on soon.

We had an almost completely dry weekend, despite warnings of lots of rain and increased flooding.

Dh and I drove round the places we've been walking to and the flooding is very uneven but water was definitely down yesterday afternoon. But this is a regulated river so at any time there can be a surge as water is released upriver. One of the members at church has just moved to a a river front home and said she's fine but has been enjoying watching everything float by on the river. Another is using a canoe to get to her house (which is designed to be flooded so no water is inside where she doesn't plan for it to be.)

It rained very hard last night and I had a fitful sleep, dreaming of leaks in the house. I think we are under a lot of mental pressure as we worry about something major breaking before we are out of here. So far it is just the lawn lamp but we've also spotted a split in one of the trees. Should it break it won't hit the house but is one more thing to worry about.

Today is currently sunny and will go up into the 70's. I have put out summer clothes to wear to the luncheon.

I need to get my breakfast. I still haven't s2s. Nor accomplished anything in days.

Hoping that all of our northern friends & family aren't hit too hard with this crazy weather (that certainly includes all my dfriends here in this village btw!) Know it was upper 70's yesterday & fairly high today up home, but the snow is coming. Assuming ds-A is still ready with his salters and plows. Though I'm sure they're now into 'spring clean-up' and 'damage control' from all the plowing.

I have done NOTHING so far. Left ankle feels swollen. Argghhh -it was just feeling better. Moderator from church emailed me to see if I'm up for Skype and church council meeting tonight. Have to remember how to split my screen again.

Oh, we will enjoy, Helia. May even eat there (have quite a lot on Disney gift cards left.)

Two-time Masters Champion wears the green jacket over to the Waffle House with his wife at 1:30 this a.m. Photos posted on net, of course. HRH says, "I knew there was a reason I liked him." (hey, wait a minute - that was me!) In 2010, Mickelson wore his to pick up Krispy K donuts with his children.

HRH made a l-i-s-t this morning. Used my pen. Dear me. I have Lysol wipes, though. He made a mini-5 one for me while he was doing it. I took it and ran before he could think of anything else. Spring break this week. This is our usual - planning work for spring break.

Nancy and Twins' Mom - how are you feeling this a.m. after your falls?

Everybody else - no third fall necessary!

As is par for the course around here, dd2 has a sick one when both her and I have a lot on our plates. Guess you know whose busy day trumps whose!!!!! Once they get moved, it will be so much easier when she needs help. Better get moving..............

Good morning to the village! So far, so good with regard to the fall - thanks for asking, Harriet. Skinned up knee is sore but that's about it. I had thoughts (on the way to hitting the ground) that something would be broken but I think most of me went down on the grass with only the knee hitting sidewalk. Blushing in memory of wearing an above knee length skirt yesterday - wonder about the view of the neighbor stopping in his driveway in his big truck? Oy.

Ddogs aren't anxious to walk this morning in the rain, I think. Kathryn, I don't know if I mentioned yesterday that we have a leak. I didn't even mention it to dh - he got home tired and back hurting from golf. I texted the construction mgr this morning - think builder will have to fix it as we indicated that we thought it was not sealed well (bugs coming in) and construction mgr had re-caulked it.

We will also have crazy spring weather with a freeze warning for tomorrow night. T-storms and rain today so I will probably have to give dMacs meds today.

I am getting a late start today - typical of Monday mornings.
