Re: A Mid-month Monday
When I walked "The Beast" aka Macs last round, I realized how painful his walk was looking, so I went out right away and picked up his Deramax anti inflammatory meds and wine, and went to M ichaels to p/u framed print, which is beautiful BTW.
Now to finish that round:
-finish up tax return, print copy for dh to "review" later
Feelin' almost creative - wine stopper went into very small brown paper gift bag from Michaels. I added green washi tape around the top edge, and green and natural excelsior for stuffing, tied on a blackboard tag with natural twine and added their name.
I am not getting much done today. Might nap.
Helia, I think it was Nancy that also fell yesterday. My ankle was off the edge of the sidewalk and I went down...

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Hello Dear Ladies,
Weather is COLD here. Had thunderstorms and tornado watches yesterday. Today there was snow in the air.
Working on Laundry and finishing up the last of the taxes. Oldest son was his usual self and brought his over the last minute.
PT starts tomorrow again.
Need to go back and see what is happening at lucylee house. Sending a prayer for peace of mind to you and DH.

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Spent the morning loading my new laptop with some software and changing passwords in response to the Heartbleed bug. This is taking me a very long time.
Dh and I had a nice luncheon and then sang for our 'supper.' Do it all again tomorrow. Picked up milk on the way home and then went for a walk for the mail because the weather is so warm. It is really, really windy and threatening rain but it only spat a bit on us.
On the walk home I got the idea of doing a singing set of television theme shows. Dh said "From the 70's?" and I said all through early TV up to the 70's, like the Andy Griffith theme which we couldn't recall at that sec and knew Harriet would know instantly. Came home googled it and also found a youtube of Andy Griffith singing it so there's even lyrics. Not sure dh is excited about this idea but I am!
I'm having real problems with my knees so will do a round of physio now. Gave myself a rest from walking yesterday which didn't help so I did walk today despite the discomfort (it gets better after about 2 minutes of walking.)

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Another quick post and run and this may be completely incomprehensible... I am just about past being responsible for my actions.
Yes -- there WILL be a funeral. Dmil will not be able to attend. Dgaunt had everything pre-paid. I don't know if that was her doing before she went to the nursing home, or dbil's doing at the time of her being turned over to Medicaid. But I think a lot was done prior to the nursing home admission.
Anyway -- that was taken care of -- BUT... dh & I had to go sign everything, make arrangements re: time/place/etc today.
Dh's cousin is taking care of getting her a dress, etc.
Funeral will be Wednesday, at our church.
Since last night at 7:21, I have fielded -- wait for it -- 62 DPC. Yes. That is NOT a misprint: SIXTY-TWO PHONE CALLS related to either dmil, dgaunt, or ddil's going out of town.
I also had to go to nursing home and take care of signing off on paperwork for dmil to go in * possibly * tomorrow. This took about 45 minutes. I went b/c dh was trying (somewhat unsuccessfully) to get dmil to eat supper. I'm not completely positive dmil will be moved tomorrow. At this point, I just don't know how much physical therapy they would get out of her. At any rate, at some point, dh & I will have to go to her house tonight to get gowns/etc. for her to have there.
DH and I are just about beyond being able to talk to each other... and if d?bil calls on the phone tonight, I may just thrown the phone out the window. Or... cram it down dbil's throat.

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Sadie, Sorry you need to go back to PT. I thought you were finished for good.
DH & I walked for 30 minutes. I took my ball cap & trekking poles, while DH took the snail mail up, then got the snail mail, too. It's interesting to see how 1 of the most beautiful homes on the streets has gone downhill.
It was in foreclosure, people moved into it, but the "rumor" is another home is in foreclosure on the street, so by the looks of it, it could be this same one. They've really let the yard "go" to pot. It was so perfectly decorated and maintained by the previous owners who built it. I guess time marches on though. Hoping if new people come in, they'll spruce it up and give the place TLC, again, as it's a beautiful home and 5 acres. So sad to see today.
I got 3 letters, 1 had an email address in it, so I emailed her. Don't know if she'd rather be email pals now instead of snail mail pals, or quite what's "up" with that.
We're not that close, so I was surprised.
She shares her email addy with her DH, so need to be careful of what I say or don't say.
Had a pal once, who shared her email with her DH, so she said, "Never say this.... in an email to me. He reads my mail!"
Eventually, she got her own email addy, but the problem was the computer broke, she gave up altogether, didn't want to email OR snail mail, so we went our separate ways. It happens in life. People just move on.
It's so beautiful here. It'll be nice in the morning with afternoon showers tomorrow. I finished up a facecloth, which turned out very pretty. I had a 1-hour nap, too. I really conked out. Using trekking poles gives a person quite the workout for 30 minutes. I was beat!
But the exercise is good and I'm trying to build up upper body strength. Also, getting DH out on a walk now that his diabetic drug study is over may help his blood sugars keep down. We don't know if after being on the med for 6 years, his sugar will go out of the roof again or not.
Have a nice evening, Everybody!

Re: A Mid-month Monday
(((Lucylee))) We love you even when you don't make sense (although that post made perfect sense to me so either you are lucid or I'm crazy too!)
Dh made up two shepherd's pies and we'll freeze one for use in the future and enjoyed the other tonight (and will enjoy it tomorrow too.)
Dd called. It is official, she is driving me nuts. She said something tonight, while on speaker phone, that left dh and I speechless. Maybe we can adopt dsil and drop her. That young man is a saint for putting up with her. At least now I know why she was looking for an awful apartment. She wants the move here to fail so she has an excuse to move back.
She is off to Cuba for a week long holiday and then she'll focus on finding a place to live here. They come up the weekend after she gets back. She was phoning to see what packing materials I needed (she's having packers do their move since it is covered by his new employer.)
Pretty sure I won't be able to sleep again tonight. But first, I need to do ds's taxes and send him a copy and then we'll figure out how to file them. Pretty sure he won't be able to file from Australia (they'll block the ip address.)

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Pretty unproductive day here after all. I did work some on my teaching, and took care of one issue a friend from high school was asking me about. Power came back on around 5 pm. We've eaten a simple dinner and that's been cleaned up. I've been goofing off here. I have found some material for my tutoring tomorrow on the next topic I would like to tackle.
Ds has called - he forgot about his taxes. I think he has a meeting until 10 pm. Then, I'll pick him up and bring him home and dh will look over his taxes with him. Shouldn't take long. His summer internship was his only employment. dh is going to bring him back to his apt. afterward.
I'm going to go pick up all the scripts at Walgreens right now, just to get that done. Then, I'll figure out details for the tutoring lesson. I'll probably be interrupted by ds' phone call and I'll go pick him up.

Re: A Mid-month Monday
OK - dh just told me (rather emphatically
) not to go get dd18's scripts as she can do that herself. Except she probably won't - or she'll wait too long to get them, and then there will be some problem or she won't be taking care of herself as she should, etc. etc.

Re: A Mid-month Monday
Finished ds's taxes and emailed them to him. He's up on Skype but not responding so I'm heading up to bed now. Still have to do those stretches I talked about doing 6 hours ago.
I'm still working on the new computer as well. Have loaded Opera as my second browser since I'm currently boycotting Firefox.
