I'm still spinning plates here.

Am setting up the dining table for my meeting (it doubles as a board-room table for the business.) I move my laptop and an extra monitor/keyboard/mouse over so the accountant and I can both 'drive' the software at the same time and get the books whipped into shape. I have the printouts she wants plus all my questions.

Dh is still in bed because he's exhausted. Turns out we had a power flicker in the night and I'm guessing the beeping woke him up without him realizing why he woke up. He was sore and had a hard time falling asleep again. Surprisingly, I never got sore from all the wheelbarrow loads I did on Thursday (but he did more on Saturday so I'm guessing that's why he hurts.)

That isn't to say I'm pain free but mine is from lack of good movement.

Meeting is in 2 hours. Before then I'd like to get the music picked from Sunday's service so I can hand it out at choir practice. Can't remember if practice is in the afternoon or evening but know I have it written down somewhere.

I've been listening to a song called "Strange Magic" by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) every night for more than a week. It's a memory from a long time ago, but it's almost becoming my theme song.

I lost a massively long post last night and I was too exhausted to re-write. In a nutshell, Saturday and Sunday were both spent at my dad's. Saturday alone, and I took a trunk load of hazardous household waste to the ReUse store. Yesterday with my brother, his wife and 2 young daughters. The 4 year old helped more than the almost-10 year old.

My sister and her husband are headed up today and I am going back up as soon as I get dressed. This might be the last day I go up, other than to see the house after it gets staged.

Good morning, villagers ~
After the 3(!) sewing group meetings Saturday morning, the rest of the weekend was wonderful.
(Deleted rant about the group. Just ugh.)

Saturday we went to DMIL's to declutter her kitchen cupboards. It was not nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. She claimed the top shelves were full of junk and she couldn't even remember what was up there. It turned out that all but 1 were empty. The only things up there were DFIL's old lunch pail and 3 broken thermoses.

The rest of the upper shelves were packed full, though, so it took a couple of hours to sort and rearrange. I got rid of a lot of really old prescriptions, boxed food mixes and baking ingredients with old expiration dates, and 3 shelves full of spices that didn't have any scent. Bottles of shampoo were moved to the bathroom; cleaning chemicals moved away from the food.

While I was doing those cupboards, DSisIL went through the shelves of dishes to declutter bowls without lids, etc. I would have pulled out more of the plates & bowls to have DMIL decide which could go, but DSisIL was not being as ruthless as I. We will return to those shelves later in the summer. This time it was a good start to just pull out things like take-out containers that were easy for DMIL to agree to put in the recycle bin.

DH and his DB moved some furniture for her, fixed a chair, did a bit of yard work.

At the end of a couple hours we had a pile of things to donate, a full recycle bin, and overflowing trash bin.

I had packed a cooler with stuff for sandwiches and a little coleslaw. DSisIL brought potato chips and peach cobler. Everyone agreed it was a good no-stress supper.

I wish we could have seen more of DH's siblings, but the small group definitely made it easier to chat with DMIL. A couple of siblings had taken her out for pizza Friday, and the remaining couple were going to visit Sunday, so her Mother's Day celebration was extended. She's probably exhausted today and glad we've all left her alone with her tv.

Yesterday afternoon DH and I went to my younger DSis's for ice cream sundaes with my family. DMom had a cold but was otherwise happy to see everyone. My older DSis and her DH are finally back from their winter stay in the south. One great-niece, who had just started to talk at Christmas, has become a chatterbox just as her mother was at that age -- so cute!

Today: DH is staying home to use up a vacation day. That will change my Monday routine. I haven't had pizza for weeks so I think we'll go out to the local pizza place for lunch. I had hoped to do some work in the yard, but the forecast is not cheerful.

Plan on multiple rounds of showers and storms to roll through today. All of these storms will be capable of torrential rainfall.

Yuck.
But the silver lining is that at least it will not be ice!

Good Morning!

I am feeling excited about things getting back to "normal". I'm not sick and the calendar isn't completely packed this week. Just the possibility of GMAT makes my energy level zoom upward.

In the first 4 hours of this morning, I have followed schedule about 75% of the time. I keep finding myself doing something other than what I want to do. I am so very easily sidetracked that it seems herding cats could be easier than keeping me on track.

Today's temps. 43-70*/On Thurs. 50*-82* ack not ready forvthat did not get the ac going yet this yr. That was on the li$t.

I have cookies baking for lunches and snacks. It will help warm it up in here.

I called mom she was home a busy day on Sun. So I texted my sis that I would calltodsy so after meds. And chicken chores.

So glad k in c mentioned the mad men show last night so I caught that.
I need to journal then later on the house needs attn. Kit. Mostly and the baby will be here and then dgson after school. The week begins.

In bed late (9:20am!!!). I was just going to lie down for a little while at 6:30. Woke up little before 2 & realized (again) that I didn't feel well. Took bs and it was only 62 so had a piece of candy -up to 95 this morning. That was surprising since I had more than my share of brownies at DS-R's yesterday for our family gathering. That's 2 nights in a row.

I definitely need some magic in here. I think every square inch is covered with something. Maybe it won't be so bad once I start in.

Last night I unpacked our large suitcase and we moved a lot of jackets & such to the outside 'closet'. Have a few more things sitting here to go in there.

Just finished taking my meds, the bed is made, now to grab some breakfast at 10:00am! Then I'll see if I can wave my magic wand. Have a busy afternoon. Dh has a Dr appointment at 3, then a softball game to watch in town, pot-luck at 6, he has fire meeting at 7 & I have church council at 8. I'd prefer to skip pot-luck but dh would like to go. That also means I have to squeeze in a shopping trip for something to take -have NOTHING here.

It is 45, cloudy and windy. So far I have spent way to much time on the computer but have had breakfast and meds.

Last night after I left dd2s, dd1 had went home to get her stethoscope to listen to dgd4s lungs. She could still hear a rattle. She checked dgd3 for good measure but she was fine. Dd2 took dgd3 to dalycare this morning so that dgd4 will be able to rest. I told her that I would keep her all day tomorrow. I will take her to dance because she can do that easily.

School is out the 22nd. Dd2 is still up in the air whether she will teach next year. But she needs to make up her mind. She will be paying all summer to hold the girls places at daycare. If she is not working there is no sense continuing to pay.

She said dgd17 continued to sit upstairs last night and ignore her after I left. Dgd17 needs to understand that dd2 is not as concerned about dgd17s weight as she is the fact that dgd17 doesn't want to do anything because she won't buy a larger size of clothes. So all she does is go to school, her boyfriends house or sit at her house with or without the boyfriend. Dgd17 thinks her mother knows nothing. I am glad that I am not raising this generation of teenagers. The majority in our area seem to think they are entitled.

Guess I better drag my carcass to the shower..............

Think I talked dh out of going to pot-luck today. (Insert fist pump -first bit of magic).

I've been magically transforming the counter as I waited for breakfast to toast. We plan to get a new small fridge this afternoon then I can put the soda, water, etc in that. Well, maybe not today. Dh is pressure washing the deck in preparation to paint it. Might wait on the fridge until that's done. Doesn't make sense to locate that and keep moving it while he paints.

We had a little bit of memory testing yesterday. Knew we had hung a basket of flowers at the end of the deck in prior years, yet there's nothing there to hang from. Finally dawned on us that dh had an upright with a flower hanger off it. It was attached to the deck there when we had our OLD camper. We've had this park model for 3 years! So, after gift of hanging basket yesterday, now need to get something in place.

Breakfast is now done and sipping a cup of coffee -then to finish cleaning the counters. Don't have enough dishes to do.

Dh will finally see the gastroenterologist this afternoon. Hoping he'll have some idea where to proceed from here. Know that dh hasn't had any improvement in his symptoms. Though we've been apart a bit and he's not one to complain. So we'll see what he has to say this afternoon. (dh that is).

Entitlement is correct, Lilac. GD15 has a grandiose sense of entitlement and ownership. Been wondering how dd made out with her at home last night -first time in 7 months! DD already told her she would not be allowed to 'pilfer/rummage'. She'll do that WHEREVER she is! DD had to ask at the facility where gd is staying that when she visits gd 1-on-1 that they put in a room where there is NOTHING. DD called yesterday to say she'd put some things in our room before locking it again. One of which, I'm sure, was the internet modem!

Checking in. We're at 65* right now with a small thunderstorm passing through. we're supposed to get up to 82* today and tomorrow!

I have done most of a.m. routine and taken care of some emails and gotten my week semi-organized.

This morning, dh just looked at tix to Hawaii for me and said they're only $300. . . I'd been hoping they'd be more so he'd be discouraged from my joining him. Need to make a decision soon. The trip would be a LOT of fun. I'm just leery of spending more $$ and the time required to get everything organized so I can join him - right after dd18's big party. Dh finally bought tix for ds and himself to go to Europe - and they were insanely expensive. The girls and I are on frequent flyer tix. He's also looked at tix to another location within Europe for our family vacation before family events in NL. Many of those are very expensive, inconvenient - or both. We're doing this late, mainly because dh has been almost drowning at work. I guess I could have been looking too - but dh now handles plane tix b/c of the frequent flyer miles. I used to do the plane tix, but then I had issues with the airline not booking frequent flyer tix for me as they had to be communicating directly with dh. Being the intermediary in communications drives me bonkers. Maybe that is different now, or maybe it was just that airline, which we don't use anymore.

I'm off to finish the a.m. routine and work on Hebrew.
