Accountant meeting is done. I have a small list of items to do but manageable.

Cathy: you mentioned the reUstore which appears only to be in Peel. When I search for one here, google redirects me to ReStore which is here but doesn't take hazardous waste. I searched the Orange Drop website (orange 'bin', actually a bag, is hazardous waste in this province) and it shows no place to return the stuff we need to get rid of. Not sure how to proceed. At this point, we don't have a complete pile, just the idea that we have things to dispose of and no place to dispose of them because we missed the ONE day for this year that the city will accept items. If there is only ONE day a year, you'd think they'd advertise that fully. I would have foregone the garage sale since that can happen any time and not just ONE day a year.

Now to prepare for choir practice this afternoon by choosing the hymns for Sunday.

Dh just called the city about the stuff - they directed us to the website but had the good grace to pull up the website and agree it shows nothing. Then they directed us to Drain All, whose website directs us back to the City of Ottawa. But dh called them. They charge $500 to come up and pick up the aerosol cans and some leftover camp kerosene and paint thinner. Or I can wait until they run a collection day for the City of Ottawa but they don't know when that will be.

On the other hand, if I drive to the city of Toronto, I can drop this stuff off at any time, as Cathy has done.

- general pick up; not sure how to break that down in writing here. some party clean up; ds' stuff is in a couple rooms - he will need help figuring out where to store things until he leaves in 2 weeks; dd18 has made a mess in the laundry room (as always . .) and the hallway downstairs.
- maybe some DPCs

Later today:
- Hebrew class at 5:05
- exercise of some sort; it is remaining gray and feels cooler so maybe a good day for a jog
- dinner will be leftovers; I need to clear out my fridge
- dd15 to drumline 7 - 9. Did I share here that she has "graduated" from cymbals to the bass drum for marching band in the fall? This was the percussion supervisor's idea. She is so small, I was surprised to hear this - but she says she will be playing the smallest bass drum, and they're not that heavy.
- perhaps I'll get my Target run out of the way today.

x picked up GG, dd15, and dd15's friend from school (dd15 and friend ares supposedly having a study date. . .)

Also, I took dd15 and GG to school first thing; not sure I included that. Dd18 took another AP test today.

Temps are getting higher. It no longer feels like a good day for a jog.

Morning included mopping and laundry.

Missed the email that dd would have liked me to bring her a bottle of water for her volleyball practice today after school. Haven't heard from her since, so that's disappointing. I know she can go to water fountains without too much difficulty, but also know she can't just walk away from games and would have liked to have a bottle with her.

I have a DPCall to get to - better just handle that right away instead of procrastinating.

Afternoon ya'll...

I spent most of my morning working outside in my yards ... First in the back where my sunflowers are bloomin' the. In the front trimming bushes and trees. Sweetie came out to work with me for a little while which is always nice.

Finished up, put everything away and now am just sittin' for a few to catch my breath, then I'm off to the grocery store...

Hello everyone. I'm still in recovery mode from this weekend. I seriously need a nap.

Yesterday was fun, but very tiring. Even though I didn't have to cook a big dinner it was still a lot. Doesn't seem as easy to manage it all like I used to when I was younger. Know I used to get tired then when all the little ones were here, but it is worse now.

We had breakfast first and everybody managed to get showers (yay for 3 bathrooms - and now we have a teenager shaving!). DD ran around and deflated the air mattress and gathered up sheets blankets and pillows, etc. Church was lovely. We went immediately to restaurant and had lunch with DD1 and family also.

DGD3 asked if I'd put up the swimming pool so I did. It's just a little one that has an inflatable ring around the top, and she played in it while the boys threw balls around, keeping cool by running into the pool too... I ran 2DD and her family to her MiL's later. I could hardly keep my eyes open over there.

Today I've washed all the towels and 1 set of sheets. Had to go out to job with DH, helped him tow a big truck out of sand where it got stuck...and handed him tools at another spot... and I'm waiting on a phone call. Have made 3 to this company trying to get an order straightened out.

Chicken baking in the oven. Man I need a nap!

OH! I am so sorry I totally missed wishing you all a Happy Mother's Day.
Our day was fine; dmom cancelled out on us again, but that was okay, dh didn't want to eat out for lunch anyway. Of course, it increases my depression and anxiety RE: dmom... but it made our day go more smoothly. We came home, had a relaxing Sunday afternoon, then visited dmil and dmom, then finally went out to eat for supper w/ds, ddil, & dgs.

Dmom was having stomach troubles yesterday. Dmil is still about the same... but maybe eating a TINY bit more, and physical therapist seemed pleased with her last week so made plans to come three times this week.

Magic today? Hmmm...
I walked 3 miles w/ds (& dgs in stroller) and renewed my attention to phone app charting calories and exercise. Drinking water right now.
Also made hotel reservations for June, w/ds, ddil, dgs. Talking to ds re: "what if" dmom wants to go with us... anxiety-anxiety... ds made me see that it is perfectly okay to let dmom know that until she can commit to baby steps -- church, birthday parties, funeral visitations -- then I cannot handle overnight trip planning, especially that which involves her and dh together. DS said we owe her a certain amount of respect and everything b/c she is our parent/grandparent... but otoh, we are doing her no favors by coddling her and letting her waste her life. DS said the Lord has let her live; she is not dead, ddad is. She is living and God has a purpose for her, and that purpose is probably NOT to lie on the couch and watch Bonanza and Gunsmoke all day every day.

I told ds I should be buying HIM a Mother's Day card; he has practically had to raise ME. I do feel he has been a much better son than I have been a mother, what with all my craziness -- moodiness -- nervousness. I don't know how I ever lucked out to have such a level-headed, calm child, but I thank God for him.

Anyway, we're about to go to Wmart for groceries for us and dmil... then... I guess the Braves play tonight, right?

Change of plans - I took care of emails regarding band uniform returns happening next week for the middle band only. There is a date confusion, which we're dealing with. Then, weather warning sirens started going off, and I decided not to go run errands - and I'm glad I decided not to jog after all. We're under a tornado warning for another 20 minutes, I think. We're all still upstairs. Every time the siren goes off, I check online to see what that means.

SO, I'm going to switch laundry now and work on pupa. . . .

I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to get done the stuff I need to get done for the big grad party; I don't seem to be able to even keep up with the weekly chores. Where is the extra time going to come from??

Back from choir and then a walk to the store for the mail.

Just wrote the mover to get a revised price that includes moving the piano.

I'm tired and want to go to bed but apparently it is 4:20 so it is too early. Dinner has been planned (both for tonight and tomorrow.) I may get to drive 45 minutes less tomorrow since my friend is stuck in his home town and won't be up to his church by lunch time so we'll go to lunch in his home town. That means I can leave here later, which will be good.

Helia: I didn't know you got tornadoes there enough to have warning sirens.

Well, there's never been a tornado in this city since we've moved here, but an F3 tornado went through the village about 15 minutes west of us 2 years ago. Many homes were damaged/completely destroyed - nobody was hurt. Warnings were good and the homes have basements. Tornadoes warnings aren't that common, but the sirens have gone off several times since we've lived here.
