Finally got my s2s, shampooed, used Icy Hot & took 2 Acetaminophen. Just remembered. It's 6:05 p.m. & I forgot to figure out my dinner with DH, so I'd better run to do that. I've been busy brainstorming titles to stories.

I heard from my Utah sis & she didn't get snow where she's at. But DH has a cousin in CO & they got a lot of snow.

It'll be warm, in the 80's this week, until a 20* cool-down with showers Friday through Sunday. :(

Have a GR8 evening, Everyone! :D

Thanks Twins...it's been fun growing the sunflowers. They've sort of become my children :) I started my sun flowers in pots and then transplanted them to where they are now. When I lived in mobile I just dug up some dirt in the yard to make the soil loose and stuck the seeds in the grownd. That was the summer I came here to visit Sweetie. The sunflowers did just fine but I wasn't around to watch them grow. Knowing the gal I saw living with at the time didn't do much in the way of gardening... The sunflowers just grew on their own. That's why I was willing to try growing them in the desert. Over the years, None of my other southern plants did very well here.

Our day yesterday was on the quiet side. Dh brought me breakfast in bed, scrambled egg with cheese, bacon, cinnamon roll and coffee! So when I finally got up I got the daily routine thing done. I texted with ddil#1 and my dcousin. I searched my computer for a couple of pictures and put them up on FB. One was dh's dmom and one was my and dsis's dmom. Had a little trouble getting dmom's picture and the description text to stick together in the same post, but finally after editing got it done.

Dh suggested we go out for dinner so we went to Cracker Barrel and it was nice. After we got home and settled down again my boys called. It was nice to hear from them, almost at the same time. I was talking with middle dson when youngest called, so dh talked with him for a few minutes. Then while I was on with ds#3, the oldest one called so dh talked with him also till I was free again.

I called dsis, but I knew she was probably busy with her dfamily, so wasn't worried when I got her voice mail.

Twins, your trip to Wash. DC sounded nice. You managed to do a lot in a short time. I like riding the Metro, but I'm always glad we are with dson#3 as I can never get it straight which line goes where!

Ooh Kathryn, knife cuts are no fun. ((Ken))!

Helia, I heard the weather channel talking about bad storms and possible tornado in your area today. I'm glad you are safe. We don't have warning sirens here; I wish we did!

Harriet, ((dd15)). Those kinds of migraines are miserable. I used to get them the first couple of days. But after a while I discovered if about two weeks ahead of it I didn't eat any salty foods and used no table salt I had very little cramping or headaches, if any.

We tried a new grocery store today. Winn Dixie bought the local Sweet Bay stores and kept the one near us open as a W D. They had lots of sales --- buy one get one free, or canned goods 10 for $6, chicken breasts, buy one pkg get one free --- like that, so we saved a lot of $$ for what we got today, and we were able to stock enough to last almost a month.

A couple of years ago a local restaurant that was really close to us that we liked a lot closed down. Just recently someone started building on that lot and today I saw a sign for Culver's. I looked it up online and am excited to try it when they open. Has anyone ever tried one? Do you like their food? We don't eat out a lot, but it would be nice to have one close by.

Just took the SQL basic test. I made an 83%, which is 90th percentile. The average was 56%! I still have to take the SQL Server Reporting Services test for that recruiter. Guess I should take a 'break' by paying some bills and processing those LOLs. Some break huh?

Congratulations on that test score, Elizabeth! :D

DH is boiling rice now. Our cat's in the garage "exploring". She smells mice, but only caught one out there once. She enjoys getting out where it's quiet. Maybe she doesn't like baseball games? ;)

Called DD to let her know how her Ddad said when the crowd of kids come on Father's Day, he'll take them for a walk in the woods before lunch, so they run some pent up energy off from the long drive down here. Good idea!

Sunny, Your Mother's Day sounded nice, too. :D

Lucylee, I agree with Twins' Mom[/b], about your dmom being able to handle a routine trip before planning the overnighter.

(((Ken))), I hope his cut heals quickly.

Just a quick C. I.

Sunny, I am sorry I did not answer your call. I saw the message but didn't have the energy to call back. I didn't do much running around with the grandkids this time, like I do sometimes, but still was so tired. We did walk all around the block with DGD3 who was on the bigwheel trike. I guess it was the rush of cleaning / shopping before they got here, and not so much sleep as they arrived very late. I'm sure feeling my age these days.

Twins, your trip sounded like loads of fun. We rode the metro in Wash DC years ago. We went to the National Zoo and practically ran through it in order to see it all in the time we had, not an easy thing since it is up and down hills. We toured the city on a bus tour which stopped and let us off if we wished and then we could jump on another one that came by. Was a lot of fun.

Kathryn, good thing Ken didn't slice the ball of his fingertip. I think those cuts bleed worse.

Elizabeth, you're one smart cookie! I hope you find a job soon.

And speaking of unemployment...we got notice today about a guy we hired who worked 2 part-days has qualified for unemployment and his benefits go on our record and affect the company tax percentage we pay for 3 years - even though he got another job and refused to come work with us again. I think unemployment rules are very unfair to employeers. I'm very annoyed with those laws.

And on the subject of being annoyed, DH wanted to do paperwork starting at 8:30 tonight and I refused. Too late and I'm still tired. And sad and bugged about a lot of things, really I need an attitude adjustment inside my head about a lot of things...

Today dgd17 texted dd2 that she needed her mom to make her a dr. appt. She is on an anti-depressant and doesn't think it works, so doesn't take it. Therefore, she is depressed. Dd2 made her an appt and she went this afternoon. He did change her anti-depressant. I hope it helps. As dd2 and I talked about it, that is as close to apologizing to her dm as dgd17 is gonna do. That is finally accepting that her dm knows what she is talking about. Tonight dd2, dgd17s boyfriend and I went to her choir concert.

Dh has decided that dgd3 just bruised his side. He said she just charged at him, head first.

Dh was grumpy tonight because he had to drain the sprinkler system and the water line to his garage water cooler because we are under a freeze warning in the morning from 4 am to 8 am.

Guess I better get to bed, since I will have dgd4 all day tomorrow.

Twins' trip does sound like fun but oh my... that dinner w/17+  Wow. That certainly sounded like a memorable night!

Thanks for the compliments on ds... as I said, I feel I can take no credit for his amazing Spock-like logic. The Lord just put a really good head on his shoulders, I guess b/c He knew ds would be raised by a crazy woman.

(((Ken)))! Ouch!!! I'm really impressed that he continued cooking, too. Lots of men would have behaved as if they'd sliced their finger off!

Harmony -- you don't need an attitude adjustment -- you need some REST. Y'all have had entirely too much on your plates lately and you are really in desperate need of some Pamper Harmony Time.

WTG, Elizabeth!!!

Very glad helia and family are safe from storms!

(((Harriet's dd)))

Wow... I'm kinda sad that the 100-yr-old piano isn't going with you, Kathryn... but glad it's going to a good home!

That's a LOT of paperwork (and a lot of activity) for a student LO's age, OKay... WTG on getting all that out of the way!

After we got groceries put away here & at dmil's we came home and ate supper, and a friend called about dmil & I talked to her for a bit, and I've emailed w/another friend some. Then I sat down to read the paper and realized I had a terrible headache -- probably combination of walking outdoors/pollen, and having my hair in a fairly tight ponytail -- so I took the ponytail down and took a nap.
Now I am trying not to eat anymore before I go to bed!

I am trying to find Dee's post re: dgd's homecoming... * sigh * I feel like I missed a lot over the weekend!
Tomorrow is another day.
