Our family learned that an endoscopy is one of the most likely procedures for too-soon dismissal.

Yes, you're right. Dh was very tipsy after his last one, two years ago. The nurse finally decided that he needed a wheel chair to the car. Good decision! And I heard the nurse tell a guy yesterday, "Watch her, as she's still kind of loopy and not steady". As he went to the other side of the room and she went to the discharge desk.

Dee, I think you can lose one-third of that! Don't want you trying for 20! 6 or 7.

Ok, Harriet -I'll take the challenge of 6 or 7! That's doable in 31 days! I can do this!!

So glad to see the sunshine, though it's darkish around the perimeter. Dh should be coming shortly for lunch I think. Bought a sub last night and we have at least 3/4 of it left -so that's what's for lunch today! Think I might add just a little meat though and some more mustard. Actually I mix mayo & brown mustard together. A good compromise for us -he likes mustard and I like mayo, but I like the taste of this as well. And here he is!!

Good Morning, Everyone!

It'll be in the 80's here, it's sunny, & DH will mow today. I looked out our kitchen window & a lot of dragonflies are flying overhead & over the lawn & field in back, catching little bugs. It looks so neat in the morning sunshine. Then, I remembered how Nana told me, when she was a little girl, how her mean older cousin said that dragonflies were really crochet hooks flying & they'd come & crochet your mouth shut if you weren't a good little girl! That's mean! Anyway, the dragonflies are pretty.

I put out my lavender index card with a butterfly sticker on it & in deep magenta it says "TRY IT TUESDAY!" I'll try to do what I can, will try to walk, will try to do this & that.... You know how "some days" are. I'm still tired from Mother's Day.

DH got wood split & loaded in the dump truck yesterday, the 3 men got too tired to dump & stack it at our house, so they'll do it tomorrow in the morning.

Kathryn, I feel for your dneighbor.

Booksaver, I hope you're not going to get real down & out sick with this dizziness on you.

I, too, don't feel 100% since Mother's Day. I quickly learned that dgd-16-months kisses on the LIPS! So does DD & me. But NONE of the boys do! That's like--- YUCK to boys!

Dee, I hope "things" work out for your DD & dgd.

Whoa. It is a smidge over 88* right now. It looks like clouds and more rain are moving in, though. I'll be happy to see cooler temps - can't believe I'm even thinking that.

Lunch and grocery shopping has been done. More email organizational stuff too. Hmm... a.m. routine still isn't quite finished. I'm off to do that now. The girls will be here soon. I have 1.75 hours before I need to leave to take dd15 to her oboe lesson. I have a dinner date with dd18 tonight.

I didn't write a "to do" list last night. I felt "disorganized" & like a SHE that I AM. I'm working on 1 now. Read on-line to group "like things" on to do lists. I think that's a good idea. It makes me want to get grouping-type jobs done around the same time, or know what I need to get back to.

So far on today's agenda is:
- Laundry
- Date some journal pages ahead
- Make the bed better
- Work on a story
- Get some well-needed reading done
- TRY to crochet at least 1 Granny butterfly square for dgd-16-months
- Pick up the house, especially my office
- I owe 2 letters; want to write DD
- Need to organize my end table top so it's more efficient
- Do a s2s this later afternoon - evening (I d2s this a.m.)
- Set my timer for 30 minutes to do movement & "things" in 30-minute increments today.

The house looks pretty good, since it was all spiffed up for Mother's Day. Poor DH has to move the wood pile to the front of the boards, to next to the patio, which is last year's wood. Then, the back of the boards will be clear for stacking new firewood as it's delivered via DH & his 2 buddies. So ALL day, DH is moving the wood stacks in baby steps, on & off, then will mow later. He's going to be so tired tonight- again. He works so hard, he's 72.5, but it keeps his blood sugars down, keeps him in better physical shape, & he sleeps good at night, from being active during the day. Our fireplace insert is EPA approved, too. There are 4 of them on our lane out of 7 homes. Even DH's dr. has one, but he got a larger one, which runs them out of the house because the house gets so warm.

My dgd-16-months, was a 2-month preemie. She can walk real well behind a walk-behind at home, but her confidence isn't up yet, so she's a bit hesitant on walking by herself yet. She'll stand against furniture & will walk if you're holding her 2 hands. Ddil thought it'd be too cool to get her walking ON Mother's Day, but hey! Father's Day is in June, so maybe we'll be blessed by her toddling then. I love her so much, she's our last & only dgd, too. She has curls, very fine, sort of reddish. Ddil says when her hair's wet, it's a mass of wet curls all over her head. Ahhhh- aren't little ones like that precious? I'm gushing with pride & love for her.

Since it's typical Tuesday, it's typical I didn't write my to do list last night. I'm thinking about digging out my card routines in the folder, too, but where did I put it???? I think it's in a basket in the pantry, if I'm not mistaken. Oh, a SHE I am. I'm off to get that list done, so I can get going better around here. I've done the important things already.

Helia, I can understand why you'd want cooler weather, but not too cold, too.

Dee The procedure your DH is getting- do they drug you up like they do for a colonoscopy?

Harriet, Your coconut oil sounds lovely!

Booksaver, Did the dizziness get less strong? Are you resting & feeling better? I hope so!

Twins' Mom, I'm so glad you got away.

It is getting more than a "smidgen" here too, Helia. Had the heat on low this morning & now........ Do wish the breeze would die down though so I can burn a basket full of cash register receipts. I keep them all -too afraid of ID theft I guess. Usually shred but my shredder got ill while in FL. So I brought the remainder home with me and am cutting up the papers and wadding the receipts so they'll burn. Should be done with that job in a day or two.

BUT FIRST!! I made hummingbird food -but first had to find the sugar, but first had to find the funnel, bf found some plastic storage containers which I have decided to give to our friend who loves to cook & give away, but first I had to find some covers, but first had to start clearing out my lower hutch cupboards. When those are done I'll have the containers ready to go AND those cupboards (which were on my to-do agenda for later this month) will already be cleaned. Need to go get a shopping bag (an actual shopping bag not the plastic kind) to put all these containers in. That will definitely give me more room. I've pretty much gone to glass containers. This particular batch is all sizes and one that I bought a couple of years ago at I kea. I don't really like them, though they are nice. Had to take a break from standing on my head though -feeling like Lilac I think.

Ditto my dh, Ivy -except he's 74. Acts 20 years younger but his body isn't accepting it! And, yes, they do put him out for this procedure. They have to go down through the throat & esophagus so they can see the condition to their diaphragm I think. He was already diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus 2 years ago and has GERD for years. This will check any change/progression as it is a pre-cancerous state and especially since he's a cancer survivor. (he had Hodgkins Disease when he was 25 & given 6 months to 2 years -they were wrong OBVIOUSLY). And I am grateful. And at his appointment yesterday.....perhaps I'd best start another paragraph. Think Harriet asked about his visit.

His Family Physician put him on Zantec in addition to the 2 omeprazole he was taking a day back when he was having all that trouble in Dec - Feb or so. When we went yesterday he was told that he would probably be taken off the Z antec because this Dr didn't like patients to be on both. BUT when dh told him that his symptoms (after many months) had seemed to subside once he was on each twice a day....he didn't tell him not to. I wonder a little about cutting back and maybe only taking one of the Z antec, but I'm afraid to. We'll see what he says after the endoscopy. I knew he hadn't 'complained' (as much as ever does -not) since I got up here but thought perhaps he just wasn't saying anything at all and just keeping on.

Was invited to lunch by dstepdil who was already meeting dstepson, and HRH met us there. Lovely meal and happy company at an Asian fusion restaurant. We are all basically Thai fans, although dstepson ordered General Tso's chicken. We learned that the place is very busy - by the time we left the line was out the door and HRH was concerned that we leave quickly after eating, since some of those people might be on a tight lunch schedule.

Dstepdil and I went our own ways and HRH and dstepson got together to head toward the home improvement store. They are going to spend part of the afternoon doing some trim work upstairs.

Disappointed that the carpet I ordered will be 2 days late. I was assured (by the salespeople AND the large sign over the carpet I chose) that it would arrive in 5 days. Calling at the 5 day mark, I learned that it was on a truck still in the parking lot of the carpet mill's warehouse in GA (where it was when I paid). So that was not good news. It will arrive in 2 more days, they believe. So, it takes 5 days from payment for the carpet to be walked from their building and placed in a truck in their parking lot. This does not inspire confidence!

LOL, Dee! Remember, SIX (or seven.) No pressure!

helia, that's a huge jump in temps for your area.

Lilac, I was glad to hear it was not a broken rib for your dh. I hope it impressed the little one somewhat to see that Grandpa hurt from that blow, and she won't do that sort of thing any more. It's wonderful when they are excited to be with us, but they don't know their own impact sometimes.

Sunny, we have also had grocery take-overs here with Buy-Lows slowly becoming Publics and Harris Ts changing because the company was bought out by Kro ger. In our area, the Buy-Low is still empty and bare after half a year, so we are way down on Public's time line I guess. The HTs employees are all wearing silly looking tee shirts that say lower prices are coming. This is met with a lot of skepticism, because no one ever shopped at HT because of savings, but because of wide-ranging selection, which will be a thing of the past.

Hello. I'm just puttering around today. I've tidied up the kitchen, folded laundry, done a bunch of paperwork bills & checks, have 2 projects started waiting for DH. Waiting for a delivery to come. Got a pkg ready to mail. Just the usual business. Typical, yes.

We had our septic over at rental house inspected because we thought we would be selling it soon. We had to remove a flower bed over the tank. The edge of the top was deteriorated and DH was able to fix it nicely with hydraulic cement. We were glad we'd checked before we had a buyer. It might have stopped a sale. We had to redo the garden and replant everything. And this was all happening right after DH had shoulder surgery so I had to man the wheelbarrow. Boy, I'm so unhappy that house didn't sell. Our lives would be so much easier now if it had.

Hello dear ladies

Lots of stuff happening here, Saturday DH took Dson18 to the urgent care not far from us. Told his father he didn't feel well and DH took his blood pressure which was quite high and his heart rate was 199. So they went to urgent care and the heart rate was 232 and continued to rise. Doctor there called ambulance and they took him to the ER. Paramedics worked to get it down while it climbed to 237 and then it finally started downward.

DH picked me up from work and we beat the ambulance to the ER. Heart rate returned to normal, blood work looked good and he went home but have to see cardiologist on Friday. Very scary! Hoping it is just a freakish occurrance.

Dson26 told me he is leaving October 21 and has already purchased his plane ticket. I plan on having our Thanksgiving Dinner on October 13, which I believe is the Canadian Thanksgiving. Kathryn, hope you don't mind me borrowing your holiday this year.

Went to PT and the Doc's yesterday for my shoulder. PT was happy with my progress, worked very hard to get that. She recommended to doc that I start strengthening phase but Doc want me to continue on just range of motion still. Can't get my hand behind my back to tie anything yet.

Doc mentioned I might need to get a steroid shot to help loosen everything up. Will wait a few weeks and see.

It is cloudy here today, yesterday it rained a lot while we were out.

Skippable....whining.
I spent a couple hours in the garden this afternoon. i am disheartened because I believe it is still infested with moles. Some of my plants have disappeared....not died but just gone like *POOF* I started following tunnels and let the water hose run full blast in one tunnel for over an hour - it never did fill up. I moved the hose to another part of the garden and put it into another tunnel and it did fill up after about 15 minutes of water running full blast. The tunnels *could* be old ones I guess, but I suspect they aren't. I probably shouldn't of tried flooding the tunnels because now the mole/gopher guy can't set traps in them. OH WELL....If that is all I have to whine about, life is VERY VERY good!

It's time for LO bus to get here.......then we will go pick up bread.....serve dinner....go to LO ball game.....then hurry home and do bath & bed routine. LO will be at least an hour late getting into bed tonight.

I have a plan for dinner pork roast & veggies in the crock pot. Dgson is here his nose was out of joint bc he is not allowed to watch R rated movies was picking on his sister bit is not her fault sigh.

Glad we got the ac going last night it is needed this week.
