:D What a WONDERFUL opener-upper today, Dee! :!: :P It says it ALL! I *loved* it. ♥ Thank you. It helps us to focus on our day's theme & it's just a nice thing to have every morning. :)

(((Lilac))), You have such a big lot of things on your dear heart today. Will be thinking of your dbil, as been through that with my ddad. It's wonderful what they can do nowadays. It has to be postponed? I'm sorry he also has MS & diabetes. When it rains, it pours. How old is he now? My DH has diabetes, but is fortunate that that's it.

Sorry dgd4 is still coughing. I hope she heals soon. Poor little girl.

OKay, I'm glad you're feeling better. I didn't know you juggled balls in the air. ;) I don't know how to juggle. I've known some who actually do in real life with balls & scarves. How is LO doing these days? :?:

(((Nancy))) So sorry you're not feeling well with the cough-cough. I'll be sending healing thoughts over the mountains to you. You're so right when it helps with QT & journal, to turn off the TV for this. I do mine to music sometimes, or in wee a.m. hours, if it's a rough night/morning, while it's quiet. Your cookies sound good. What kind? :?: I ask, because I'm a "cookie monster". ;)

(((Kathryn))), Good luck on the second opinion on the septic system.

(((Lucylee))), I have a dfriend, who lost her DH about 1.5 years ago, she's still not quite over it, & is in a bereavement group, joined church, volunteers, & really tries very hard not to have self-pity. But you know, you can hear how it still hurts & stings, losing him. I'm thinking of your load with your dmom & dmil & am thinking of them, too.

My gastritis symptoms seem to vanish yesterday afternoon. :!: I read eating almonds was good for it. I ate 1 handful in the afternoon & 1 in the evening. They gave me protein, but they coat the stomach & absorb the acid. :) I slept great, I didn't wake up at 4 a.m. with acid, got a good sleep, in until 9:30 a.m. :!: I even got my coffee this a.m. :P DH fixed it for me. ♥ No big plans for today, except s2s, laundry, try to answer 3 letters. DH will get prescriptions & groceries. Got a story in yesterday, so will try to crochet on dgd-16-mos. Granny squares today. I need to quit procrastinating on this job! :!: I have 2 more 50" x 50" afghans to go after hers is finished. I'm so pokey. I just get sidetracked.

Have a GR8 Day, Everybody! :!: :P :!: :P :P

Had to rush over to the church office to help prepare the form for people to sponsor bulletin covers. I thought it was already on my computer but it wasn't. Still, it is faster for me to retype than the secretary. A third person had said not to worry she still had the blank form from last year at home but of course that wouldn't have the right dates nor the right church holidays (since Easter moves around.) Plus there were 10 Sundays we had covered using extras from previous years.

We looked at the new catalog and discovered they aren't supplying 52 choices this year. They suggest we use some of the scenic ones. Except there are NO scenic winter ones. In a country where there is 10 weeks of snow (plus Advent/Christmas/Lent) so there will be summery bulletins in the winter. Really, I don't know what they were thinking. We pulled it together as best we can, filling in the numbers for dates where a specific bulletin was called for and then left about 1/3 blank and people can choose whatever they want that week. I made a note on the order form that the same bulletin can be used more than once so people won't feel constrained.

I wasn't impressed with the Christmas bulletin covers and it is frustrating knowing much nicer ones are available from the church supply shop. It feels like we are being driven away from using the national church supplies. I suppose the profit margin isn't worth the work for them now.

After the office, I went for a hug from my senior friend and then came home. I have a bad headache and was nauseous so put on ice, took pills and sat still for thirty minutes. It has abated some and I ate some watermelon (cool and light) that is settling fine.

Harriet and Twins, I just double checked with dd1 and she said they did a full panel screening and everything checked out fine.

When I sent dms mother's day card, I sent it in a padded envelope with a card for dgreatnephew. I sent 1 check and told her how much was hers and how much for him. I was hoping the amount would satisfy her, since I knew there was a slim chance that we would go.

I really worry about dm and her relationships. Dsisil told me that dm showed up at the hospital that the mother of the graduate works at. She had addresses for her (dms) siblings and stamps so that they could invite them. Dnephew said that they hadn't invited them because they hardly know them and felt like it was asking for a gift. Dm has gotten in the habit of keeping score. She gives money to her sisters grandkids for birthdays, graduations, weddings, etc. and expects them to reciprocate. I don't feel they should have to since these are dms great-grandkids. She doesn't like 2 of her great nieces. Some of the comments that she repeats to me that she has said to them, just make me cringe. It's like she thinks that she can say what she wants because of her age. I have always felt like a person can think anything they want, but leave anything unsaid that would hurt anyone's feelings. Yikes, that last comment of mine made me realize I freely voice my opinion to dd2. BUT, I only say something once because if I repeat it, I am called on it.

Dd2 called on her lunch hour. Someone in the school district wants her to apply for the Jr. ROTC program. The previous teacher did not have any military background. They want the next one to have military experience. Dd2 has been in the Air Force and the National Guards. She was an honor graduate at both the boot camp graduation and the schooling she received after boot camp. That is her true passion and she would have still been in except for her ex and his demands to move back here 8 years ago this summer. This will be fulltime plus teaching. She will work 20 days during the summer plus it requires some after school and weekend commitments. She is going to do more research and then talk to her dh. It is their decision.

Well, I have accomplished zilch, so need to attempt to do something.

(((D. Lilac))), The waiting part is so hard to go through. My thoughts are with you today. Hang in there, be good to you, & I'm sending positive energy & good thoughts. I know what it's like, via ddad. The wonderful thing, at a time/surgery such as this, is how love comes out from everyone supporting him, you, your dfamilies, etc.... ♥

I s2s, got Icy Hot on my back from aches due to stacking firewood. The biceps are poking out, as those muscles were used, too, of course. DH left to the store, he's going to look for Almond Butter, since almonds are so good for gastritis. My symptoms are gone, as of yesterday afternoon, which makes me SO happy. It was a painfully aching acidic sick spell. :( So glad it's over & the Internet is wonderful with good food lists & info, too. I learned a lot in May of 2013, when it hit me & Dr. had to put me on 2 different medications for it. Had tests to make sure it wasn't the gall bladder, liver, pancreas, etc... & found out I'm healthy as a horse! Then, when I had my physical, Dr. showed me my lab work readings, was so PROUD I had good numbers right down the board in EVERYTHING! He said I'm healthy as a horse. (I love horses, too.) But the only stupid things I deal with are IBS, osteo pain, & just silly non-life-threatening things, but I'm GLAD. I can deal with a little pain & junk like that, am fortunate nothing's life-threatening, so am not complaining.

It'll be able 85* here today. I need to sort & start 1 lol, re-make the bed, get started on letters. Will sort mail & put groceries away when DH returns.

I think I missed toth. . .

Done:
x put away a few last things in dd15's room
x started breadmaker
x wiped down surfaces in dd15's room - except for her bookshelves filled with knick knacks. It would probably take me an hour just to dust all her little bird figurines, etc. + shelves. I don't think they're too bad.
x folded and put away a lol
x clean sheets on dd15's bed
x vacuumed dd15's room

OK, I think her room is done. I'm going to bring in a folding chair just to provide another chair.

Next - reclaim the kitchen and then the main bathroom. I'll wipe down the main shower tonight. I've been working on the tile grout across several days. It is looking better!

I need to start cooking at 5; I'm hoping to eat at 6 pm. Dfriend needs to leave at 6:30 for his conference. Dh and girls will probably leave at 7 for Broadway production of Westside Story they're going to tonight in Detroit.

And another day enfolds in which our heroine sits on her tuchas

:)

Ivy, I hadn't heard that about almonds. Glad you feel better.

Lynlee hasn't been around much. Perhaps she's enjoying her autumn weather.

Kathryn, perhaps someone who wanted to sponsor could order just one week's worth of bulletins elsewhere. This is an online storethat has been a value to me for other items. They have lots of snowy or wintry bulletins.

LOL, Lilac, I should have known you would be early in sending the gift. I keep forgetting everyone isn't last-minute like me!!

The carpeting is down. It is a deep blue. I think it looks especially great when you enter the room and look back at the stained french doors with it. Manly/bold. Walls are faint blue, looking either blue or gray in different lights. There are still baseboards to be added, and he is considering track lighting, but I think we have a really good-looking man's office underway here. I definitely want to hang his diploma and perhaps bring in a plant. Then I may back off :) and just see what he does with it.

Looking more and more like coming stormy weather. Tomorrow looks absolutely horrid. Dh is supposed to be at the fire hall at 7:30am for a mock accident at the high school. Asked him a while ago what they did in the event of stormy weather. Guess they do something else in the gym or auditorium. Certainly won't be a wrecked car.

Dh came in a while ago and asked, "How would you like to go out to dinner tonight?" Who am I to refuse? Have no idea where we might go.

I have been extremely lazy today. Of course we had to be out of the house early to go to a cardiology appointment for a carotid Doppler test. Just before we went into the examining room, the gastroenterologist called him. We went there on Tuesday. Guess he had looked again at dh's CAT scan and realized he has an aneurysm on his kidney that he doesn't want to wait a year to re-examine. So now have another appointment with him in October.

Guess I'll get his shower bag ready and try to do something. I know why I'm not moving much -my knees just plain hurt BUT I know movement is good.

P.S. Here comes the rain. Hoping it doesn't hit 50 miles from here.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!
