Hmm... power nap didn't work. I couldn't sleep for more than 5 minutes at a time. I guess I wasn't really tired? I dont know, I feel pretty tired.
I'm going to make a cup of tea and a menu plan and groc. list. It sounds like dfriend S might make Korean bbq (bulgogi) for Th. dinner!! How nice! And yummy.
Wow!! The grocery bill here is really high, feeding 6 right now regularly, including 3 teens and 1 young adult male. And we feed so many guests here too, up to 6 on Thursdays (it's been lower lately) and a dish every other Saturday for small group, mains when we host. And S and R eat with us every Sunday night plus other events, I'm sure. If you include our restaurant bill - every Friday night and Sunday lunch minimum, well.. . I can't imagine paying more than we pay for food for internet/phone/TV. We don't pay anything for TV since we don't really watch it.
Alright, girls are home. I'm off to the groc. list.
Good Morning, Ladies! No time to cuop like I "should," but have a ta dah, as short as it is:
- s2s, moisturizer, eyebrows put on
- made the bed, put laundry into utility room
- did breakfast, pills & supplements
- finished a L. L. to BFF
- called in 2 prescriptions
- decluttered my end table & hung clothes up in the master bedroom
- changed into prettier-to-me clothes
- had QT & journal time, etc....
- started 1 lol
DH is at Costco, spur of the moment, there was a coupon book, which expires June 1. $5 off on my Preservision eye vitamins was a GR8 price. He "sometimes" brings home something for me to wear, so we'll "see". He'll go to Walgreen's, too, for floss & anti-chaffing gel for me by Monistat. It's great stuff for under breast & in groins, to prevent chaffing. (TMI)?
I know this is a quick C. I., but it's not my day today. Got a good sleep, but am still Very tired. Have a GR8 day today, Everyone. Waving at you all!

How well does the maple syrup freeze, Kathryn? We have 2 quart canning jars in our fridge now from a neighbor. Took some with us to FL last year and he gave us even more this year. It is good! Have to agree about the Bose. We have a CD player as well. We did have to send it back to Bose a few years ago for it to be 'fixed'. As I recall there was a CD stuck in it for whatever reason. Not cheap but certainly cheaper than a new bose. We keep that in FL and dh, particularly, gets a lot of usage. We thoroughly enjoy it at Christmas time in our room. Fall asleep to Christmas music.
Wonder where dh is -said he'd be home about 3 to wash up, change clothes and run to the funeral home in a town very close to us.
I'm pleased with how much I've gotten done and how much better kitchen all looks now. I cleaned away several items and washed all the surfaces. Now if I can only get dh to help me keep it that way.
OK, groc. store is not going to happen after all. But I have. .

OK, I'm off to reclaim the kitchen and start a lol next. Dd15 and I are leaving in about 20 minutes.
We've debated buying a second Bose cd player over the years but I simply can't justify the price! Buying the surround sound system for the tv would put the sound in the living room and I think it is the speakers that are special, not the actually player.
We ended up with 21 boxes in the basement over the two days. Dh is shocked at how many boxes are needed to deal with things like the kitchen (which is still pretty full but getting done slowly.) The sitting room off the kitchen no longer has any books (except one of dd's.) I just realized dh packed the book I'm reading right now! Not that I get any time to read these days.
I've moved the packing stuff to the dining room for tomorrow. We've put all the stickers and the tape gun in a shoe box that we can carry as we move from room to room since we are finding quite often things in one room here will be used in another room of the apartment.
The septic guy hasn't shown up yet - we had an appointment for 3.
The 'lead' we've been emailing with will come and see the house on May 31. We found out there will be a hazardous waste drop off on May 31 so we will get to that first thing in the morning and then run an open house in the afternoon. By then we'll be heavily into moving since we'll have the apartment and will be moving our precious stuff over.
My senior friend phoned to say she's home from the hospital. Kidney stone, they've got her on a high priority surgery list in the city. She is too large to be operated on in the rural hospitals, if something goes wrong, they don't have the expertise to deal with it.
Choir practice has been moved to CM's house from the church. So that saves us a trip since we were going over there anyway to drop off a load of things.
I'm going to lie down for a bit before supper. But first I'll pull the clothes off the line. Then I might just lie down on my zero gravity chair under the bug netting and enjoy the warm sun on my aching body.
Cleaned up the patio & yd. This a.m. h. Was swacking about it this weekend and last night.... It has been too cool then not feelin very chiper. Plus the trailer to haul off stuff is full, he did not do any either. I just tried not to take it too personally. Did several rounds on it this morning before trash pick up & it got to hot. So I am glad it looks better.

Dgd is getting really good at arguing lately had pill moments today. Sigh.

We made muffins. Today I have had a couple moments that I am not proud of.
Think I may be tired of chicken bar-b-q by this weekend. Sunday I had some from the local fire dept, tonight from dcampmanager's son's baseball team, and Sat we already have tickets for the same here at the campground. Part of the Memorial Day festivities. May take that chicken & put it in the freezer for later. Imagine dks may have something planned on the q t for my b'day. Friday night we have a spaghetti dinner at church as part of our church roof fundraiser. Then there's a dessert auction at the campground after the chicken bar-b-q Saturday night. That's always fun. This all goes to the 4th of July fireworks fund. His fireworks are best by far of any around. At any rate, I'm picking at my dinner for tonight. There's macaroni salad, 1/2 a chicken (which is yummy) roll/butter and salt potatoes.
See both DWTS and American Idol are on tonight. Dh will be hard pushed to decide. Oh, DWTS first hour is a 'recap' of the season & Idol is on live from 8-9 so all will be good.
No nap. Laundry is off the line and put away. I'm all caught up at this point, a rare occurrence but now that the weather is nicer and I can't dry fine washables in the house (never know when a showing will occur), I'm doing smaller loads.
Septic guy came. Really nice. Really busy. Can't get to the job until July (that is a good sign, the other guy was available next week.) Explained everything clearly and will talk with the buyers' inspector to see what he saw and thought.
Our lawyer called with a request from their lawyer to extend the deadline for waiving the septic clause. They have waived financing and home inspection and water test but still want to test our water themselves. The extension is just until Friday. No problem, it means they are walking away from the deal.
Dh got yet another email from this other potential buyer so we are still nurturing that lead.
Dinner is cooking away so maybe I could rest my body for a few minutes.
My Dr. has a medical asst., who called me today. He's on vacation, she wanted to let me know 2 prescriptions were emailed in for me. We talked for 30 minutes, she said she just had to let know I am her favorite patient. She said if I see a problem, I set about to solve it & their help, tips, I actually DO what is asked of myself, because I'm so proactive. She told me how down-to-earth & friendly I am, how I am a very honest person, & set about to take care of myself, seriously, rather than just say okay & go back to the old habits again. She made me feel so GOOD about myself. I told her my dental hygienist & therapist say I'm their favorites, too. Also, my old "shrink" I no longer see because I'm on Medicaid now & she doesn't take Medicaid patients, told me I was her favorite patient, TOO! I'm going back have her a s Dr. when I go onto Medicare in 2.5 years, too. My oh, my. I'm so happy & trying to relish in the "glow" of all her compliments. She made my day. She said with me, "It's you get what you see. She sees me & that's what she gets & it is a good thing." I can't believe it. I was so happy after talking to her for 30 minutes. What a wonderful person she is, too.
I did these items this afternoon:
- ran a scan on my computer
- put groceries away
- labeled ARC box #4 & put in a men's bathrobe (I inherited several years ago) & 1 dozen socks, because DH bought me 6 pairs of thick cotton summer socks.
- I ate lunch, had supplements.
- I sorted & read the mail. I got a new 87-year-old pen pal with beautiful writing! She embroidered 4 tulips, then photocopied them, for the top of the paper she wrote on, so I could "see" what it is she's doing right now. She's amazing!
- I wrote a new lightweight 3/4-sleeve boucle cardigan in deep teal, then hung it up & put it away. It was time to strip off the bra & get Icy Hot Roll-On on my upper back/shoulders. I didn't want to have that odor on my new cardigan.
- I got out paper, numbered 10 pages, & stapled them together, for a short story I'm going to work on. I'd found the rough outline in a basket in my office, while decluttering, & see? Good things come to those who declutter!
- I complimented DH, "Oh, that color tee looks sexy on you." He laughed & said, "It doesn't matter what color I wear. They ALL make me look "sexy"." ! It was so funny coming from a 72.5 elderly man.
It's so sunny here, DH mowed after his lunch settled, while I talked to my medical asst. & now I'm getting ready to put my 2-today pen pal letters into the small office, to answer later. I want to get my story started by coming up with some good sound names, although they change them. I will put pertinent info on an Index card because it's terrible to get to page 20 on a manuscript, draw a blank at what the BFF or DIL's name is, then need to search all those pages. If I have my index card, to aid me, it sure does help a lot. It simplifies & I remember "who" was called "what". I've sometimes started out a story with the DH named something, but when I get to page 20, his name ended up being something else, for instance. So the index card sure helps out.

Sadie, I also agree with Nancy! These people are totally UNprofessional & need to be reported. It's nonsense if they want to keep in business & the BBB is a good place to start. Also, there are the AMA, to report to & often times, on-line, when you "Google" a Dr.'s name, up comes pages of reviews & you can post a complaint there, too. These people shouldn't get off Scott Free! Feeling sorry for your Dfriend who had to endure this terrible behavior, which isn't professional at all. IMHO!!!!
Kathryn, We have a Bose, but the CD player works for DH if he gets the disk twirling at first, then it'll play. Otherwise, we listen to the radio on it. We LOVE ♥ our BOSE! Yes, they're expensive. Your idea sounds good, too. Heard the speakers are awesome. WTG with the 21 boxes, too!

Harmony, That's really something people pay more for internet/phone/TV than food! We use basic cell phone, on a flip-phone, keep the cheapest plan possible & our DD & my Dsis are in the same "family plan," so it's FREE to talk to them long distance. Dsis is in UT, I'm in WA State & DD is in WA State, too.
I got 1 lol dried & away. DH bought a beautiful 3/4-length sleeve boucle-type cardiagan in deep teal blue. No buttons, but the collar sort of falls into a folded front with horizontal pattern for 5 inches at the bottom. Very warm, although it's lightweight 100% acrylic knit. Very modern style. ♥

On the subject of tech - read today that Twins' Mom may have the fastest internet speed in the village because of the area in which she lives. Public ultra high speed internet there, and way faster than most anywhere. Cool.
Got news from dd that the verdict now is baby may wait until due date or beyond. Sigh. I wish they'd never even suggested baby might be early. Good grief. Will have to reassess how this affects a bunch of calendaring.
We got computer back, HRH got a great discount, left so impressed with the computer repair place, got home and it wasn't right at all. HRH (with me as expert flashlight helper) had to do a lot more work on it - maybe a half-hour of very stressful time for us in tedious, tight space. Now he's very discouraged, because when he opened it up he saw that they made so many rookie mistakes, too, like not screwing components back in well. He really thought they were smart pros, and he spent a lot even discounted, and basically had to come home and do the work himself. They added a solid-state drive and speed, but the software interface was botched so now the speed, though better, will be less than the spectacular change they'd promised.
We don't pay anything for TV since we don't really watch it.
