Speaking of a excitement - our preacher has added a bit to his life. He was AWOL last Sunday although he did arraign for someone to preach for him. Last night he shared that he got married last weekend. Preacher & his new bride didn't want a big to-do so they took their children (from previous marriage) with them and did it quietly.

An hour in the kitchen resulted in 5 meals being prep'd. Notes are being made on menu plan for future use.....what food ingredients to make a little extra to be used in next day menu, etc. Mondays beans, Tuesday rice and Wednesday chicken was used in today's chicken casserole. Tuesday homemade bread was used as filler in Salmon patties. Wednesday baked potatoes was used in today's potato salad.

DH volunteered to do a list buying trip to Sam's when he went to town for his weekly shots. YEAH!! I still have a dozen items to purchase at local grocery store but that still will result in at least 2 hours of "extra" time for me today.

Dee - can you use plastic boxes (thinking of shoe box size) to easily store like items in that spot?

I find myself using plastic tubs more and more. They are easily stacked and good way to keep like items or "theme" items together. It is easy to label the outside of the box and know what it inside without opening.

Speaking of which....I need to get started on my focus in the closets. *POOF*

Harriet I love those links. We have some nest boxes to repair & put new bottom board on from the left overs of the od kit. Project. When it is hot & I finish painting the coop loft and replace the press board with plywood we set up nest boxes in the run outside.

Harriet - that is such a great idea!

I'm slowly (OH so slowly) converting all our storage items to plastic containers. Each focused decluttering and organizing cycle adds a few more plastic boxes.

I worked without a timer in the closet. BIG mistake (for me). Normally I work with focus until the timer goes off and then stop with high energy & desire to do more. Without a timer to stop me, I just kept working until I reached a point that I was DONE DONE DONE. I worked too long and felt overwhelmed by the continuous decisions. Once I reached that point it was almost depressing, I have no interest and am not looking forward to working in that area anymore.

Three more phone calls received. Two from DMom that just needed me to listen as she talks and processes DAunt situation. The other phone call was an invite to LO for a playdate with friends and cousins.

The plastic bins are simply for me to empty the cupboards into, Okay. Then I'll start weeding out & sorting & putting back from there. Hoping to slim down. Some things such as electronics for modem, router etc have to stay. But I've been pondering. Trying to decide when to start so I have energy to not have a mess. Have to work at the car show at 5 o'clock. Supposedly I'm just taking money.

Hi everyone....I'm trying to catch up here today, cuop last few days.

Weather--we've had thunder here last couple of days, but only a few raindrops. The real rain has been all in communities around us. Now 84* and sunny, thunderstorms expected this afternoon.

Thinking of Helia & ds on their road trip and visit with dfamily on the way. I don't know if you will see this, but I wanted to say "Happy Birthday to dd16. My dgd17's birthday was Monday 26th also.

Lynlee, hope you get some good news from x-rays. I didn't know you had fish...how big is the tank....what kind of fish do you have???

Dee... are you able to use the new, closer laundry room yet? Oh, and, it was nice of that couple to visit and thank your dh for helping the man when he was hurt!

Kathryn, I've been following your moving process (noting ideas for my future move if it ever happens) and am excited for you also. I'm looking forward to hearing about your new home.

(I'm trying to eat a hot dog sandwich w/sauerkraut while typing - not doing well...it's falling apart!)

I wanted to get an early start this morning, so got up a little after 7am. I got waylaid with am routine when dh told me he couldn't find his phone. Last time he had it was Tue evening at dgd12's spring concert when he turned it down to vibrate. He looked in his pants pocket, in the car, beneath his recliner; of course I followed behind and looked in all those places. He called the school...they said no one turned in a phone, but they would keep an eye out. I finally found it under the bed where it fell as he was getting ready for bed that night! He called the school secretary back to let her know.

I keep thinking of little things I want to do while reading here and typing, but I will finish here before going off on a tangent....if I was to put a graphic to this it would look like a spiderweb going off in all directions!!!

Going to work on quilt again this afternoon. I'm enjoying the process and learning a lot. I'm also taking pictures to send to dgs12. Dh talked to him on Mon and he told dgs I was sewing. Dgs replied, "Oh, working on my quilt?" So I know he's excited about it! I'll see how much I can get done before the thunder starts and I have to unplug the machine again.

Yes the toddler had a #2 bday she & dg will be a bit later today. I made the bed picked up a bit, put away chicken feed & dumped the trash after watching my knitting show. Feeling a bit more productive. Swept the drive way.

Sun is out now and warming up too. My ear has been draining again bs was up today, feeling better now.

Lynlee, I'm sorry you still have some pain and hope the x-rays tell the pros something. You got a lot done.

Sunny, that's great to find time to work on the quilt... ... and to take photos.... .... hmmmmm

OKay, with a tough or long job, boundaries help! Allowing just so much time at once, or deciding in advance to do just one part at a time, etc. can really be good. If not, we either go too long, OR (worse) feel inadequate. I would have done the same thing you did on my outdoor work this morning, except the heat of the day and the disappearance of the morning shade was a big fat reminder timer, lol. It said, "get back in that house!"

Work today included raking the old straw out of the henhouse to get ready for the new straw. We do the deep-litter system, which is inexpensive, great insulation/comfort and the most popular, probably. But it is labor-intensive at clean-out time! My garden rake makes relatively short work of it. Off it all went to mulch the ash trees. TaDa. Oh, except for some saved especially for the rose.
