I am reading posts but not retaining anything. My hard drive (brain) is full there isn't any memory left and it's all going in the recycle bin. Seriously.

Interested in OKay's comment (it was her right?) about her DMom "spinning". I've never heard that before in relation to stress.

I believe that is what I've been doing.

Heavy work day. Fire hose out putting out "fires". I had many many things on my mind, not able to deal with them with DH and today we tackled many of these things. I see a wee tiny dim light at the end of a very very long long long tunnel.

Gotta get back to it, DH is waiting with another project fire.

Y'all talking about itching... does ANYONE know ANYTHING that will help itchy ears & palette (sp?) -- the back of the throat? This is all caused by allergies. I'm going to go take an extra antihistamine as soon as I sign off... and last night, I put Zaditor EYE drops in my EAR b/c I was so desperate. But the throat thing... I keep peppermints in my mouth almost all the time... and EATING helps, LOL... but that's not good, can't eat ALL the time... * sigh * I'm about to go CRAZY!!!

Have fun at the car show, Dee... and (((BIG HUGS))) and prayers for your dd...

WTG, Lynlee... and saying a prayer for solutions to your pain!

So neat that Sunny is working on quilt for dgs and that HE is so interested in it, too! I treasure my grandmother's quilts sooo much. That's why I need to see dsgm -- one that my maternal grandmother made me is completely coming unbound. We've used it on the bed for years, and I love it for that purpose b/c it's light-weight, unlike most of the others, but... I don't want us to continue using it and it just start falling apart. Dsgm is quite a seamstress, so we're going to see if she can repair it for me.

I do not envy all of y'all w/outdoor tasks... especially w/these allergies bothering me right now. I really need to get our shrubs prunned, and since dh doesn't want to put out the $$ to hire someone to do it... looks like if it is to be, it is up to me. They are HUGE... prickly, stickery holly bushes, and on the corner of the porch, one of them is probably about five feet tall now. I don't know if I can even begin to tackle it on my own, but dmom has electric hedge clippers, and I think I'm going to eventually give it a try this summer. Or not. Why does it have to be done in summer? I don't have to go back to school... I can wait until cooler days in autumn, right?

Happy birthday to all these village teens... helia's dd16... Sunny's dgs17... time never slows down, does it? And Nancy's dgd2!
DGS will turn 2 June 26. Maybe we can get him to say "TWO" by then, you think? This is sooo frustrating to me... (the lack of talk, not the aging process.)
He knows everything... and enjoys interacting w/us... lots of laughter... will point out letters and wait for us to tell him what the letter is... just refuses to repeat words back to us. * sigh *

Hope OKay & Cowinkie are feeling better soon and looking less and less like prize fighters...

Did I ever say WTG to Mr. Dee... goodness, that seems so inadequate for saving a man's life! That was an amazing story, Dee. So glad he got to see the man is recovering well.

Kathryn, I definitely understand the bittersweet feeling of leaving your home. I know that will be incredibly difficult for my dmom. She is planning on maintaining her home AND late dgparents' home for a while... maybe trying to gradually accustom herself to being at dgparents' house. But at the speed dmom moves... whether she will actually make this move in her lifetime... that remains to be seen. DH said he would like to just SEE a list of all the stuff she SAYS she's going to do... it does make our heads swim... but I feel LOTS better when I talk to her and she sounds energetic and optimistic about it all -- even though I know in another day or two, not one item will be crossed off the list.

Soooo glad Mr. Sunny found the phone! * Well -- glad that SUNNY found the phone!!!! Like they say, nothing is really lost unless mom can't find it. ;)

So anxious for the new baby to get here, Harriet!!! So exciting.

Congratulations to your preacher and his new bride, OKay!

Today is ds and ddil's anniversary. I forgot to even get them a card! I'll do that when I'm out running errands later.
I am reading posts but not retaining anything. My hard drive (brain) is full there isn't any memory left and it's all going in the recycle bin. Seriously.
Believe me, I understand, Harmony!!! I can only reply as I read through topic review. The spinning thing, though... you know, that's what Kathryn & Cowinkie are always telling ME to stop doing. I understand what OKay is going through with her dmom. Same story here. I'll be on the phone w/dmom for an hour sometimes, and basically all I say is "I know..." "That's right..." * sigh *

I need to call duncle... much, much dreaded b/c he drives me insane... but I know he gets his feelings hurt easily if he doesn't hear from us...
and need to call daunt... check on dcousin w/cancer.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi, Everyone! :D I love the opener, Dee! ;)

I woke at 3:45 a.m., used the bathroom, got a drink of water, as mouth was so dry after yesterday's dental work. I got back into bed, but since it was super windy all over around here & in town, the pollen kicked up & DH was snoring because he couldn't breathe & was stuffy. I got up at 4 a.m., but had 4 hours & 45 min. of sleep. WILL nap this afternoon.

I wrote a letter to a pen pal & DS, wrote in journals, had QT. I watched early a.m. news, ate scrambled eggs (soft diet for awhile now), soaked the pan in the sink, because leftover crusty egg junk would've been going down the disposal, so at 5:15 a.m. I KNEW DH would NOT wanna hear the disposal. :!: That's why I soaked the pan. I ate, did meds, etc... Then, about 7 a.m. DH got up, he was still gagged up. :( So he held off on breakfast & coffee a bit. We chatted, then he ate, did s2s, then I did s2s, & he stripped the bed, put sheets in the washer. I started the sheets during my first round, got caught in the utility room b/c kitty cat had an accident. Cleaned that up, did the powder room toilet & trash, just off the utility room, but was surprised how the powder room & utility room are NOT IN THE SAME round! OOPS! But I cleaned the potty box out.

DH called me once, to ask about supplements, since he's at Costco, so I told him to get the cheaper D-3 by Kirkland since I only need 1-a-day by them. Also, I called him back, he about fell over  when I told him I cleaned out the kitty cat's litter box. I told him I was real tired then, had done 45 min. of 3 rounds & was gonna go sit down. He said DO that, so I'm here sitting & writing you. I did our bedroom, the master bathroom, walk-in closet, too. I guess I need to re-write & formulate a new 6-zone grouping of rooms, so the closer jobs are closer together: Hence, powder room's off the utility room = put them together, Ivy! :!:

I need to run. There are only 3 min. left on my timer, my root canal tooth hurts more than it did this early wee a.m. now. I'm supposed to eat yogurt & take an antibiotic, Ibuprofen prescription & pain pill. Boy. It's throbbing, so maybe this bending over to clean the potty box wasn't such a "hot" idea?  I'm going to write in my journal & read on a published short story & read on a book now, too. At 11:15 a.m., is the time I get to eat my early lunch. I'll be glad when DH gets home. ♥ HE can help me make the bed with fresh sheets, help w/laundry, etc... if he's not too tired.

Sorry, but I gotta go. The SECONDS are ticking down now. I just wanted to say how early I got up, what all I did & to see the opener today. It's cool 8-) because I'm Ta-Da'ing all over the place, but time to rest now. :!: :) Have a gR8 TA-DA DAY, EVERYONE! :D

I didn't mean to say I'd done 3 full rounds. I did 3 fifteen-minute sessions of round 1. Round 1's not done, but am taking a lunch break & am awaiting DH to get home because the walk-in pantry is on 1 section, so putting groceries away will count as part of the same round, just a different grouping of the chores in the same round. Well, *I* know what I'm trying to say.

Round 1, so far:

kitchen, dining room, great room
master bathroom/bedroom/walk-in closet
utility room/powder room.

I'm doing laundry, #3 lol is washing now. A mini load's drying, the sheets await DH's help. Might not get to the entry way hall or bunny room today.
Will try to do the main bathroom, my office & the main office..... But I'm going to space out my 15-minute increments of work from now on, so I won't overdo. 90 minutes is the total for all 6 sections of round 1. I was "delusional" thinking I'd do 2 rounds in 1 day/today. :!:

DH is going to Fred Meyer to look for June &/OR July True Confessions; it's the only 1 of the pair I write for, they sell. They don't sell True Story there, but I've got a True Story complimentary issue. I just need the Confession one. This is for marketing, when I study the market, to "see" what editors are accepting AND what the other writers are writing. I missed getting into either June issue, so have no "clue" what was written. I can buy issues I'm not in, from the news stand or magazine rack. I was aghast when I saw a story on the cover almost identical to one of my story titles. So cannot use THAT one. Then, my co-writer friend wrote a story, along the same plot of one of mine I planned on writing. :( I need to read stories, & get a jump ahead on titles for holidays, especially, if I want to be accepted. It's okay though, to miss not getting into a months' 2 issues, because sometimes, out of the blue, a story 1 - 2 years old is accepted. It's such a surprise, but pleasant, so I go into my file, to make "sure"- did I actually write that one? And once I review it, it's like AH-HA! I DID write it! (I forget). They say to write, forget about it, so you're not obsessing over it. I totally forget. I just sent a cute story to Woman's World for Christmas, so am crossing my fingers. :) I need to get back to my poetry writing, too. Maybe after my nap this afternoon, I'll get some poems done. My kitty cat stole my recliner. I'll move her when I get real tired & put her on my lap for a nap. ;)

Have a wonderful afternoon, Everyone. :D

Hello Dear Ladies,

Looks like rain again today.

I have a TADA for my PT. I can now put both my hands on my hips/waist area. Wasn't able to do that before. have to have my hand spread open, not in a fist motion but it is progress! I'll tie that apron yet!

Another work day for me.

going to unload the dishwasher and then get ready for work.

great day to all!

Online using my mobile stick. No sign of the internet installer yet.

So far so good except there's no power to half the apartment (the bedroom half, good thing we have a bathroom in the office too!) Super is here right now to see what's up. (edited to add, it is fixed and lots of questions have also been answered.) He lives on the 23rd floor so I'm guessing the elevators will never be not working for long!

Had lunch on the balcony. The view really is wonderful. I get nervous if I have to move more than 3' from the wall but so far so good. Our cheap lawn chairs are too low to see out nicely but our regular balcony chairs should be good. It is going to be tight with all we want on the balconies now that we have the bikes there too. We'll have to measure a few times at home to make sure it will work.

Little things wrong here and there but nothing that is not surmountable. Our parking spot is fabulous - 4 spots from the door to the elevator and about 10 spots from the exit. It took five minutes to get from the car to the front door of the apartment the time I timed it.

We went to the closest grocery store for lunch fixing and milk. It is HUGE (bigger than anything near me.) Prices are ok. Milk is at our price point which is nice. Normally we have to go to a special store to get that price. Milk is the item we go through the most of, at least a quart a day.

I'm ADDing like crazy. We found a whole extra closet we didn't know we had (dh was going to the bathroom and shut the door and there was another door behind!) I'm measuring that for the safe now. Except I'm posting here so you can see how distracted I am!

Sadie, I *KNOW* you're gonna attain that apron tying goal. It's the type of person you seem to portray. You set goals & then you attain them. Big WTG! :!: :) Congratulations for putting your open hands on your hips, too. I'm so glad you're seeing progress & am happy you report it to us. It shows what one can accomplish in baby-steps, which ends up being a marathon in the end. Just think where you were 9 weeks prior to surgery. You've come a long way.

DH got home, I forgot to "time" helping put groceries away. I'm pretty tired, so doubt that I'll fully complete my 90-minute 1st round. I did 45-minutes of one though. :) I believe, under the "circumstances" of being in the dental chair for a "hairy" root canal (meaning it was a tough one for my dentist & his assistant), it taking 3+ hours, I have the right to take it easier this afternoon.

The postal carrier drove our box of 2 books to our home. He's the sub & the carriers no longer bring snail mail letters, bills, etc.. to the house, when delivering pkgs. & I believe it's because it could blow off or away, get wet or an animal could get it. DH will checked our locked mailbox (inside a community of locked boxes) when he gets the garbage can/recycle bin. Oh. I just remembered: DH is getting firewood with his neighbor-buddy tomorrow, so we need to get up early in the a.m. I'll get up early to be able to s2s before he leaves.

Oh, bless DH's ♥ ! He got some yogurts, rice pudding, tapioca, & soft seafood salad, too, for me. I need to "remember", too, how I can eat applesauce & bananas, too. I sure did love my scrambled eggs with sea salt this a.m. They hit the spot. :) See? I CAN cook! I love to make Cream of Wheat, too. DDAD called ALL cooked cereal "MUSH". He was so funny. He got us fed & off to school b/c DMOM was off at work early, with a long commute. This was before they divorced when I was 16.5. Then I got a new Step-Dad, but I got married & moved out at age 18.75, so didn't know him for that long or that well. He'd always wanted a DD, so he gave me his inherited hope chest. I still have it.

A word of warning though..... This is SO embarrassing!!! I was going through a hand crafting phase. I was a young mom & G. S. Leader. I had Brownies. I learned how to make dough art, bake them, shellack them, add a bent piece of metal for a hanging ribbon, etc... So I made many, gave many away. After one Christmas, I didn't know where to store them. I put them in my cedar hope chest. About 3 months later, I went to open my hope chest, to fetch out seasonal clothes. PPPEEEEEUUUUUU! :!:   My dough ornaments had softened, stunk up the inside of the cedar chest like crazy, so I scrubbed it, let it air dry & it didn't work. :? :? :( I asked people I knew if they had any idea what to do, everyone didn't know, they were surprised it happened to a cedar chest, etc... I even went to Martha Stewart's message boards to ask, but only 1 tip sounded good, which was vinegar & water washing it out & air drying outdoors. I tried it, it was less of an odor, but still smelled a bit. I stopped storing clothing in it, put in journals instead, & then 1 day, I went to my hope chest, 2 years later, it smelled GR8! 8-) :P :P :!: :!: I was so happy. I'd used an envelope from the grocery store with sachet in it, to freshen it up, along with dryer sheets. So I never-ever wanted to hand craft dough art ornaments again, & I never-ever put anything cooked & dried into my hope chest again. I learned my lesson. It's sad, too, because some of the ornaments were delightful, like a gnome, etc... ;) It's a good idea to take care what you store in your cedar chest. :)

I'm going to go rest now. Take care, Everyone! :D :D :) ;) 8-) :P
