((Sadie)) feel better soon.

Happy Anniversary, Harmony and Mr. Harmony!

Lilac, ya caught that, huh? It is not what I want, really, because I remember the days of just dreaming a baby would hurry up and get here!! Also, a little child doesn't understand having to share a bday celebration with anyone else, when siblings don't have to. But it does start looking that way.

Her latest email at 2:30 says "still waiting. This little guy is proving to be stubborn like (little britches)."

Earlier she wrote, "I just want to hold this little guy in my arms!"

We had a surprise visit from HRH's uncle and thoroughly enjoyed his stories.

Cowinkie, your post also made me think of this visit from uncle, since he is definitely the historian in HRH's family. And he surprised us by telling how well he had known his paternal grandfather and his maternal grandmother. He had several stories about them.

He told us the story of how he saved his own leg in the Army hospital. He actually refused the orders (to the doctors) to amputate his leg, which was such a foregone conclusion that the markings on his leg had already been made, above his injuries. This so infuriated the Colonel in charge that he transferred him from the hospital to an infantry division, in a cast. That Colonel immediately transferred him right back, also irritated, saying what is the infantry supposed to do with a cripple. So hospital Colonel asked again about the amputation, and uncle still wouldn't agree. He transferred again, but was so mad he would not reveal the orders. So uncle got onto the hospital plane and waited while it stopped at 3 other hospital destinations before finding out he was being put off the plane at a fort relatively close to home, to become a problem for other Army doctors. But they noticed that he had been learning to walk a little bit during all this, and so finally the subject of amputation was dropped in favor of therapy. He's been walking without a limp for 60 years.

:D :D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HARMONY & MR. HARMONY!!! :D :D

Congratulations to you!

I got up at nine o' clock, I ate, took meds, but conked out after working on a story (it's going nowhere. ) & slept about 1 hour in the recliner. DH said, when I woke, he was going to town to get me a new pill cutter & meats. I told him I can only eat soft meats, he says he'll find some. I have 1 pill, no longer scored by the new pharmacy, so my pill cutter pulverizes 1/2 on & off. I cannot go on the lower dose or the higher dose, as I've been at this 1.5 dose for years & years. I hope a new pill cutter works. :)

My story isn't "working" for me. Enough said.

It's sunny here, will be in the 70's, & I started a lol dark clothes. It's stuff we need, like, want. ;)

Have a great day, especially YOU, the Harmony's! :D

Bed. I'm off to bed now. I'm exhausted.

Got back from the church supper at 7:30, leaving early because we had to look over the new offer from the same buyers and get it to them by 8. Did so (going back to the church for a witness.)

More than ready for bed. Do not expect a second wind.

Edited to add:

No second wind but did start laundry so will slowly work towards bed and pop it in the dryer after it buzzes.

Church supper - success (and tasty!) I have 2 lbs of pork to pull so I can have it for the movers in 10 days. I'll freeze it.

Must make ice for dd (who is bringing fridge contents with her.)

Picked up her keys.

House will be showed on Sunday so I have a moment to breathe tomorrow but will work on packing and cleaning.

I did 2 lol, DH helped with 1, I helped put away groceries, re-did the odd story's messed up middle, & took 2 naps. They state to not operate machinery & take care in driving, when on Vicodin. Well, it holds true for writing a story, too! :!:  It just doesn't make the mind function well- at all. I was writing a plot, which would have been fine in the 1960's. I'm sure glad I told DH my "idea". I'd handwritten several pages, too. Now it's starting to "sing" to me. ;)

I must have really needed those 2 naps today. I'm sorry I never did a Round 1 of the house today to = 90 minutes, which is my goal, but I wasn't feeling energetic or on top of things.

No mail got delivered to us today. :( :( But it might mean we get a good mail day tomorrow, on Saturday. :) :)

Kathryn, Good luck showing your home on Sunday. :D You encourage us all that hard work pays off, if we stick with it no matter what may pop up.

Sunny, Did your thunder, etc.. go away finally? :?:

Sadie, Get Well Very Soon! :!: You're in our thoughts. I'm glad you got paid for working the holiday.

Harriet,It's nice HRH's uncle came to share stories. :) :)

Waving to Dee, Lilac, Cowinkie, OKay, Nancy.

Have a nice Evening Everyone. :D

Hi everyone! Today started with the usual knit/crochet breakfast group. My friends were not available for lunch, so I came home and was going to spend 15 minutes in the sewing room. Two hours later, I have made progress in decluttering, organizing, and putting things away that had been moved for the roof/attic repair work. I must get the sewing room safe and reasonably put together because I am getting BABYCATS!!! Two non-feral, polydactyl kittens, one of whom is plagued with an upper respiratory infection. Another animal org member is getting him tested and treated. They will need to be isolated from my other cats until the vet gives the ok. DD12 is going to be ecstatic.

I have been working on job hunt tasks, taking a few breaks for clean up and LOLs. Unfortunately, I waited too late to file my weekly unemployment certification. I thought about it 10 minutes after the end time. This is not a serious problem, I will simply have to do it Monday, but I am annoyed with myself.

Next up: bill pay, transfer money, Quicken update, dinner, work on DD's Halloween costume, work on some doll dresses.

Fortunately, DD let me know well in advance what she wants for Halloween, and I am SHOCKED! Not that it is scandalous or inappropriate, it's just A PRINCESS??? My DD??? Have aliens swapped out her brain? This child would not even go see Frozen because she had to look at princesses, and now she wants to dress in Anna's BALLGOWN??? And she has been braiding her hair like Anna. (She actually looks quite a bit like Anna). Of course this also requires a Queen Elsa dress for me. Maybe the aliens haven't gotten her, she also requested chain mail for herself and for an American Girl doll. (Note: if you unfold a metal pot scrubber, you will find chain mail in a nice scale for the AG doll).

I'm hungry, so I will get on those bills.

Happy Anniversary to the Harmonys!

Thank you for all the anniversary wishes. We are married 21 years today. We did not do anything special, but maybe we will go out sometime this weekend. I'm not counting on it.

Now I must look up polydactyl and alexandra technique...

(OKay) for hard day helping DUncle get ready for DAunt to come home. Will she have nursing care once she is home?

Another boatload of work done around here. I am so burned out with DSisilaw's paperwork when she comes with stacks of it and stories and my goodness she is very disjointed, and the only thing worse than working with her is working with her and DH together...which I've been trying to do. I tried to hide out in the bedroom and fold laundry while she was here, but it was all a mess and DH called me out to sort it all out...

We are making progress. I am not insane yet. Yet.

Ivy, how much time do you spend on the writing of your stories?

We had a big storm come through, probably the same one Sunny had. I guess we are sliding into rainy season here.

Harriet, sure hope that baby arrives soon! My 1st was 2 weeks late so I was so not ready for my 2nd who came 2 weeks early! One just never knows. Your Uncle's story is just amazing, and I'm glad for him it turned out ok.

Alright: for the curious, the Alexandra Technique: learning to experience ease & lightness as you learn simple movement series designed to melt away painful tension patterns.....and
polydactyl - cats with way more toes on their feet than usually normal. I've seen cats like that at Hemming way's place in Key West. Interesting. Oh, I see Elizabeth and I were posting the same time!

Update: Bills paid, funds transferred, Quicken updated. That last gave me quite a scare! Quicken showed a balance of $1.21! However, since I had just looked at the bank account online, I knew something was up. Turned out I had not recorded deposits totaling ~1000. I am about to throw the LOL on the drying rack and eat dinner. After that, I have some sewing to do, and more cleanup.

Harmony: Polydactyl = having more than your fair share of fingers and/or toes. Sailors used to consider polydactyl cats to be lucky, on the assumption that they could climb the rigging better with extra digits. Ernest Hemingway had multi-toed cats and there is a higher than average number of them in the town in Florida where he lived. I like them, because anything out of the ordinary that doesn't produce associated costs makes cats more adoptable. Extra toes SELL.

Finally folded - the laundry from morning dailies. So obviously I'm not hitting on all cylinders.

We sort of went out to dinner. We picked up a nice meal from a local restaurant and came home and ate here because phone might ring and pullets are little/vulnerable until locked up.

Hitting the hay again without a call. Dstepson and dstepgd will be coming tomorrow but are aware I may be gone as of early morning.

Nice you're getting kittens, Elizabeth.

Sunny, I also heard thunder while reading your post. It's that time of year.

Dee, when they are young and all have the same non-hairstyle, they look so much alike. I have done double-takes so many times, thinking I "saw" ds in another young fireman. That's a tragic event.

OKay, good job trying to help your extended family in various ways. I know it must be such a difficult time.

Yes, looking around for Twins' Mom to be turning her light on, back home soon.

So pleased to hear that Harmony is still sane. :) For some reason, that makes me think of lucylee. (ducking and running) and hoping she is having good travels.

Not sure Cathy meant this to be as funny as I found it, but I'm still smiling from yesterday.... ...

now my paper tiger is contained in another cage at a different location
