Morning ya'll...

A very merry birthday Harriet, glad you get to share it with family.

Coyotes have shown up in my very urban home town in NJ. We do have a very large preserved area that was once owned by my father's bf. it covers many many acres that was once was a azalea nursery. It had a rather large pond that became our favorite play place. Back then which would be more than 55 years we would come across many foxes, but heard the stories of coyotes.

Now my town has not only coyotes but deer. The deer have become such a problem that the surrounding areas now have a small deer hunting season. The area is within 10 miles of my home. My dad and his friend were advid conservationist and duck hunters way before those words were liked together. My dad would tell me about the deer he saw on the islands where he hunted. The river is a mile wide in spots and I was shocked when he assured me that the deer were capable of swimming from shore to island to shore.

Now my hometown friends post pixs of deer, fox and coyotes wandering their yards making us all scratch our heads... The bears have become such a big problems in parts of NJ that there is now an official hunting season for bear. I don't have a problem with any of this because of the way I was raised. Hard to believe that the wild life has come to town.

My day is dedicated to my ancestry hunt. Received great advice from the LDS family center and will now be attending geneology class starting in June. Receive a 8x10 pix in the mail from my new to me cousin of my g-g-g-g mother. In the pix which was taken in 1886 she is sitting in a chair and is 96.

So far today weather is calm. Yes, I do believe we are getting into our summer pattern with the sea breeze coming inland and causing storms to develop quickly. Lightning & thunder yesterday, but no rain except 1/2 mile away!

I have a Happy Home today thanks to My-Self Maid. I will now relax in my sewing room. I've sent a few pictures to dgs12 by phone. His replies were: "Yayyyyyyy", "Cool" and "Love you too". His happiness makes me happy!

Thanks, Sunny. I'm assuming that by now guardianship papers are signed and gd15 is officially a member of their household. They already have 3 daughters living at home -one a senior. Dfriend is definitely a 'no nonsense' person and gd will be towing the line. They already have in place a plan for her to attend FL's virtual school this summer and take a couple of courses. Her 'mom' has told her "Your guardianship is up 7/24/16 BUT your term with us will not be up for 4 years. You WILL graduate and possibly go to college." She got dressed to go to school with her 'mom' yesterday (after not wanting to get up and her mom told her: "I did not ask you, I told you -now get up and get ready" and when she came out was told "You will not wear that to school & when you go to school this fall you WILL be covered up. Just because you're gifted you will not be showing those gifts!" She's doing things now (good things) that she would have never done in the past.

Wouldn't it be awesome if your grandbaby was born TODAY? What a gift that would be- although baby grands are gifts any day they're born.

I woke up at 9 a.m. to my dawn simulator. It's sunny here, will be in the 70's, I believe, from the last weather report I saw. DH is watching MLB from game to game, flipping with his very fast-on-the-draw fingers. He'll get the mail in an hour or two, as none came yesterday, so we expect some today. I slept well. My kitty's cute & playful & funny.

I need to work today.

Cowinkie, We have coyotes, fox, deer & an occasional cougar, which pass through. We're in the woods, off rural roads, but 10 miles from town.

LO ballgame this morning was fun. The children and parents of both teams were good sports.

I ordered/picked up pizza on the way home for lunch. The sun felt burning HOT at the game which affected my motivation to come home and cook.

The car still wasn't loaded by the time my washer was done so I hung out the laundry and then went with dh. The whole back of the car was full of things for the toxic waste drop-off. We had the windows down while driving there because the chemical smell was so strong - thank heavens it wasn't raining!

We shopped at HD and WM and spent $$$ but got microwave, dishes, new kitchen trash can, a dimmer switch, shower curtain rods, shower curtain, new bath mats, kitchen drainer, etc. etc. etc. Dh was shocked at the price and had me go through the receipt but I knew it was right. We had two carts of items that average $20 each.

Not all will be kept (we bought duplicate shower rods but WM was half the price of HD) but it is easier to buy and return, than not have on hand if we need it.

We have to go to the apartment for 5 to meet up with phone tech so will have some sort of supper there at the same time.

I'm exhausted so may ask for my zero gravity chair to be put in the car so I have a place to lie down.

Just finishing up my lunch (yes, it is 3 here!) and will then spend an hour tidying before we leave for the apartment. I also have to get the certificates done for the kids in the Sunday School.

Or maybe not -- sharing birthdays can be tough. DS had his first un-shared bday at his grandma's that he can remember this year! (He & dxsisil share.) He always had his own little party at home until dfil became bedridden (and ds was in college then, anyway) but I always felt sorry for dsisil b/c she had to make time for US on her day, too.

OH -- and a belated Happy Anniversary to Mr. & Mrs. Harmony!!! Hope the year ahead is happy, healthy, and harmonious for you both -- and for many, many years to come!

I haven't really cuop yet, just skimmed through the end of Thursday's posts, and I saw where Ivy was complimenting my memory, of all things. Oh, Ivy... thank you , but it is undeserved praise -- I have no memory at all... * sigh * If you'll notice, I generally only reply to what I can see in the Topic Review section while I'm posting. Sometimes I "cheat" there, b/c one person mentions another person's post, and that does remind me of something.
Sometimes, if I really want to make sure I'm back in the swing of things and not overlooking anything, I'll start my post in Word and go back and forth, reading & responding. Lots of our villagers do that, I think. It is a smart thing to do, but I often forget. If the website or my computer is acting up, posting in Word will prevent lost posts! But I usually don't think about that until I've lost a lengthy post.
Anyway. Most folks here do a MUCH better job of responding to others than I do.

Yesterday was busy busy busy, and I DO have a few more items to check off my OMM list:

[x] Wmart for dmil (and us -- bananas)
[x] oil change place to replace burned out headlight This happens sooo often it is unreal.
[x] dbil's office for reimbursement for dmil's purchases
[x] reconcile checkbook statement -- UGH. This was so horrible. I started it, and was interrupted by phone call from dsgm, returning MY call, and I
[x] took quilt to dsgm to repair -- and then
[x] went to music thing at assisted living facility w/dh, ds, & dgs --
and I was exhausted when we returned 4 hours later... and when I tried to finish the bank statement, I realized I had "lost" $202.27! AAUUGGGHHH!!! And dh was irritated b/c I had been putting off doing the bank statement for two weeks, so I had over $6000 of uncleared debits/checks... and six weeks of math to recheck... so I stopped working on it last night and we went to see X-men. Then, after a long talk re: whether getting an updated statement would be helpful, and deciding that no, it would not be, I called the bank first thing to check on that, anyway, and that made dh EXTREMELY irritated, b/c all that talk was just WASTED... and I agreed, it was not worth the $3 charge b/c the error was obviously staring me right in the face. And yes, it was. I had forgotten to record 3 transactions... which... you guessed it... totalled $202.27 exactly. Ugh.

So... still to do...

There's probably more. I never did get to talk to duncle or daunt/cousin, etc... Both of their phones have new answering machines and dmom and I are both having trouble getting through to them lately.

Enjoyed the outing w/ds yesterday. Got to talk to one of dmom's cousins, whom I had never met, and she is so sweet! She is not a patient there, just came over to see ds play b/c she lives in that town.

Oh, Dee... (((BIG HUGS))) and prayers... are y'all finally going to see the light at the end of the tunnel? How much does dgd know and understand about the change of guardianship? Her new "mom" sounds like a good match for her, btw!

WTG, Nancy! I am so impressed w/your painting and cleaning and everything! Our house sooo desperately needs attention but my GUY here is sooo reluctant to start any sort of "project" like this. And I can definitely see why he doesn't want to spend $$ right now, w/me "losing" $200 this month. Still smh... anyway... YOUR HOUSE sounds sooo nice!

Boats!!!

You said I needed to add view of boats to the 'must have at my new apartment' list. I put it down as a desired but not deal breaker.

I can see specs out on the river that Ken assures me are boats. I need to get new glasses (eye appointment is June 19) and until then, I'm moving over the binoculars. Didn't expect to see boats except the occasional white water rafter since we are living along a section of the river with many, mild, rapids.

The other moving black specs I see are in the kitchen. Unfortunately, my eyes are good enough to make out that they are ants. Thankfully, I didn't get rid of the ant poison (thought dd might need it.) Of course, I've got ants at home too. Not sure if the ants here hitched a ride or are locals.

There is no news.

Got a call from 3 boys, in a big cacophonous "HBaiprptyh Day!". But their mother says so far, no changes!

Doctor has scheduled an ultrasound for Tuesday in case nothing has happened by then, and might make a decision on inducing.

We had a very nice lunch with dstepson and dstepgd. No, dstepdil didn't get to come, and we now learn that her paternal grandfather, with whom I used to attend church for many years, has passed away. So sorry to hear that. He and her grandmother had moved to the beach years back and her grandmother had already passed. This reminds me of long-ago connections with dstepdil's family - I was her cousin's Sunday School teacher when he was in primary grades.

My silly cousin called, whispering, so that I would ask why he was whispering. And the answer of course was that I must have lost my hearing by aging a year. He is a terrible tease!

Told neighbors about the fox. We have two other flocks on our road.
