Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Back with dh from having his teeth pulled. He had a one & a half hour appointment -took nearly 2 1/2!
He did comment on how terrifically gentle our dentist is. He couldn't believe it. Now that I think about it, this dentist has never actually pulled any of his teeth -DSs and me OTOH>>>>>>
But he is good and not terribly expensive either. Friend of ours had a root canal same time as dh a year or so ago -his was $1,000 and dh's $100 -which would YOU rather pay? Ended up costing $2,000 for all dh's trips to him and his new full upper and lower plates. I know it's much cheaper than the going rate -we have no dental insurance any more.
Now I'm going to try doing laundry again. It was busy earlier. BBL

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Heaven forbid. I had the ringer on my phone turned off and didn't hear the timer after 25 min and then the restart after 5 minutes, so I worked 55 minutes total.
Ta das
-downloaded new software for iPad and installed while working
-backed up iPad to the cloud while working
-finished kitchen clean up and swept, restarted dishwasher which didn't run after all
-rebooted laundry
-did some desk clean up, scanning and filing
-MBath clean up, watered plant
-got out June Franklin planner thingie
I feel like that's not very much to show for my hard work!
I still need to s2s today, and I'll plan to pick up a few groceries before I pick up ds. I'll need to leave here around 3:30 ish, which is about an hour and fifteen minutes from now.
Plan is to work another two rounds "on the clock" including s2s in first round.
And I'm off....

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Dee, I hope DH's pain will be at a minimum and there will be no big problem with extra bleeding, too.
I'm sorry there is the problem with mold coming now. I hope not.
When does the RV man come?
Maybe I just didn't read that part.
I had a rotten night's sleep, up and down ALL night long.
The right hip's still paining me, but far from what I felt yesterday.
I'm grateful for that and know my walking up our hill to the mailbox to check on mail helped kick that hip back into where it should've been in the first place.
I'm doing laundry, need to check it and did 1/2 of my robin now to = 30 min. total, so far. I lifted bird feed, to put in the pantry, which was heavier than I'd assumed.
Hoping there will be no repercussions from that. I remembered the lifting "rules" when I did it, with Kitty Cat under foot at the same time!
Why does my Kitty "help" at the most inopportune times?
Gotta check lol now. BBL. Have a great motivating Monday.

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Ready for a nap now.
Went to bed with a bad headache and it woke me up. Dd was puttering around looking for something so I got up to help her. It was 1:30 and she still hadn't gone to bed (we all went up at 10:30.) She was obsessing over her missing ipod cable and so I mothered her a bit (she really needed a hug and to be cuddled) and got her settled with another form of alarm and she went to bed. All she could focus on was the cable, not solving the lack of alarm another way.
I went back to sleep after icing and heating my head to break the headache and slept ok.
Got up and out of the house by 8:45 after helping dsil load the van with more stuff. From there:
1. Quick appt for dh. I waited in the car and did some updating of Quicken.
2. Trip to Solutions. This store didn't have the cupboard solution I was looking for. They had A WHOLE AISLE OF CUPBOARD SOLUTIONS FOR ME! As we walked towards the cash after loading up a cart, a staff member offered to open a cash for us but we were just heading back to the front for a second cart! (Which we filled!) They gave us a coupon for 25% off our most expensive item. Oh, and I'll be going back with Kaitlyn so she can be inspired too. Our crappy kitchen is almost updated now (except for installing everything we've bought and picking up the last item from IKEA.)
3. Visited dd and dsil in order to see their new place (and help unload the cargo van.) It is quite acceptable, the neighbourhood is awesome and they may let me play in their tiny garden (just the right size for me.) I like to see her places before she moves in so I can see how she transforms them from a space to a home. Bonus - we had lunch at their neighbourhood pub. Very good garlic cheese bread.
4. Trip to our apartment to drop off our purchases. It only took 13 minutes to get there from dd's! (Highway was open and running freely.)
5. Unloaded, picked up my cell phone and dh did his good deed of the day, turning over a dropped wallet from the garage. Each time we take up loads we chat with our fellow residents and they all seem very nice and everyone loves the building. They have a shelf in the garage where you put things you don't want any more. Each time we walk by there is something else on the shelf. Today it was a photo poster of Paris. When we left 30 minutes later the poster was gone and there was a pile of clothing.
6. Home but took an exploratory route and found the beach. Our neighbourhood is Westboro beach and sure enough, the beach is only 1.1 km from our building. Woot!
7. Our 4 p.m. appointment at the house is canceled so we have a block of time until our next to-do, choir practice. I made lemonade and we are enjoying a moment's rest.
I see dh is asleep in his chair. I'm going to move to the sofa and do the same thing.

Ivy, RV guy is talking to dh right now via phone. He'll stop by when he can. Right now we're not noticing any additional odor so are hoping there's not any damage to the waste tank.

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Quick ci:
I understand about the list being overwhelming -- that is dmom's problem completely. I like a list, though, and often MUST have one to function at all.
Today's motivation, however, came in the form of phone call from ds -- did I want to walk? I desperately needed to, so off we went...
and then, after we'd been back and forth across the patio dozens of times (our driveway, rather than making a quarter-mile track
is more like a .2 track, so we make 5 trips per mile)... but anyway... ds had come inside for a minute, then started back out the door and stopped suddenly, saying, "WHOA."
* snake *
So dh & ds killed the snake -- probably just a chicken snake but OOOHHH... he does NOT get to live on my patio at the bottom of my back steps.
Then... errands...
* courthouse for new car tags
* bank
* post office
* drug store
* CVS b/c our drug store did not have bed pads and Wmart was out last night
* oil change
* dbil's office to leave this week's bill
Oh -- and had to call dmom and tell her dcousin is in hospital. More in J&C.
Waving to ALL... hope I can get back and cuop later.

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Dee, I'm crossing my fingers for you to not have anymore tank damage or any mold or anything bad. I know the RV man must be an awfully busy man at this time of year, too. I hope your DH has no problem speaking on the phone with his recent teeth extracted today, too. How's he doing?
I got a long drawn-out letter from my BFF today. She's recently retired and the lives of her adult children and grandchildren seem to fall apart around her.
All I can do is be her friend, be there for her, because she's there for me, through thick and thin. At least our letters to each other are very interesting to say the least, full of drama, mystery, and excitement, too. No kidding. If she and I were to publish our letters, to each other, into a tell-all novel, it's be a NY Times Best Seller!
Intrigue!
Her letters are never boring. She's such a love. ♥
The overcast morning sky burnt off to sunshine. I got hot, so changed into a lightweight cotton knit gown with a cool light-weight cotton lounger dress. It's from India, from Woman Within, a Medium, which is my size there now, because I shrunk.
I love the design, print, colors & the little bodice with buttons on it edged in red piping. It's one of my favorites. I've gotten rid of 2 - 4 loungers, keep the Vermont Store ankle-length Muumuu's and they're beautiful, too. I wear a Large in their size for 14/16, I believe. Can't get into their Medium, which is a 10/12- yet. I usually get up in the a.m., s2s, then dress for "working" on the house, being "company ready" and working on stories. But today, my tooth was bothering me, I got very tired after lunch and felt so hot; hence the lounger dress for comfort.
We hadn't had mail for 2 days, heard if on day #3, if you don't get mail, you can be a victim of I. D. theft. Our mail came today, so I'm very relieved now. I love my pals. One new gal wrote me today, I opened the card, on the left side, (she's quite the artist), she sketched a quite good sketch of herself, coloring it in, wrote her nickname on it with a big red smile. She's so sweet. It's nice to hear from new gal pals who are sweethearts. Had 4 DD's, 3 live out-of-state, but 1 lives in-state with her grands. I thought, how sad to have 3 DD's living out of state.
If it was me, I'd miss them so much.
I'd better run. I need to do 2 more #'s on my round robin list to = 20 min. to finish my round robin for today to = 60 minutes. I guess I'll get to that now, then do a bit of this and that. I didn't get a nap in, don't know if I will, as I had afternoon coffee.
I hope you get your nap, Kathryn.

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Hello everyone! Nice to see Twins back. My kids say Hilton Head is nice. They go up there every once in a while to visit their Uncle and 2 of their cousins.
I was really sleepy yesterday, napped a lot. We've been having rains every day. Love the rains but hoping for a calm summer during our hurricane season.
Ivy, I hope your essay gets accepted.
Been busy with current file. I just downloaded a stack of forms to fill out. DSiL was here going over some stuff. We may be ready to submit this packet tomorrow.
My fingers have acted up and my thumbs are cracked where they attach to the palm, very sore. I've done a couple med treatments but they still hurt. It makes doing everything very difficult and painful. I haven't had this for a while. It flairs with stress... yeah I understand why it's bad now.
Went with DH to dr. this morning; he got the stitches out on his neck, and is very happy to have them gone because they were itchy. Last biopsy came back clear, yay.
Must go get some dinner.

Re: MOTIVATING MONDAY
Dee, how is dh doing after the tooth extraction?
Harmony, so glad that your dh's biopsy came back okay. You stay so busy, a day of napping while the rain comes down outside sounds perfect for you.
Ivy, you're doing great on the round robins - I have petered out but need to get going again. You sound comfortably dressed!
Lucylee, glad you got your walk in despite the snake. So sorry your cousin is hospitalized again. I've had several cousins pass away already, will put more in J&C.
Oh, I had to google the Solutions store to see if there's one in ATL, Kathryn. Didn't find one, but will look around at website later. I'm glad you can get a nap in today.
Ds got home and immediately made himself a scrambled egg, lox and spinach wrap for his supper. He tried to make a smoothy but had left the frozen fruit out over the weekend and it froze solid. After he finished, I went upstairs nicely and asked him to come clean up the kitchen, and showed him that he needed to wipe off the stuff he left on the counters. I'm not going to spend my summer cleaning up after every meal he cooks. The stove top badly needs a good cleaning, but he keeps cooking things that spatter grease everywhere. I feel so far behind on other stuff that I hate to clean it when he'll make a mess again the next time he cooks. It's stainless BTW so it has to be polished up to clean well.
I need to work a bit more. Ddogs are at my heels about their walk, but I'll try to put if off a little longer.
-hang delicates to dry, put away folded laundry that is on my bed
-straighten MBR, get piles of laundry back into closet
-clean up kitchen from supper
-take out kitchen trash to trash can already out at the street
-start li&t for tomorrow so I have more direction
Dh doesn't get it that I feel that I need to clean up the house first before I can do some of the other things he's nagging me about. I'm just not comfortable with a mess around me. I have done all a.m. routine except for clearing the kitchen table.
