TEEMING TUESDAY

Hello everyone. I am taking a break from the teeming amount of work around here.

Booksaver, what would happen if everyone who asked for names or everytime you had a need for a name you forwarded the request to her. Give her a boatload of chores to do unnecessarily and unless she is trying to control everything, she will see the folly of this idea. What does she think everyone will do with the names, anyway, turn them all in to the I RS?

Along those same lines, I believe I am going to step down from my position at church in December. I will have been on this committee 4 years, and it is 3-year term that is renewable once. I'm not keeping up very well with the way it's being run nowadays with just emails. Last night my friend called about something entirely different and she told me tonight's meeting was cancelled until Wed. and I hadn't gotten that email... so I would have wasted a bunch of time I don't really have right now.

I am working on paperwork yet again. That gigantic project. DH is out working and dsisilaw has left the last paper in his truck, so I must call him later and make sure he is bringing it home with him, then I will have to call her with questions.

I've been practicing my origami with the storage box I'm setting up with hanging folders to corral all this stuff for the 4-6 months we are working on this project. I taped the top edges with clear packing tape because the folders don't slide very well along the cardboard. Ran out of tape. I'll get more at store. Must go later to pick up milk and a couple things.

Mystery meat is in crockpot. I think it's something DH put in the freezer because it wasn't labeled. It might have been some of the chunks he bought to make jerky. Jerky thing to do...

x eye appt.; all is well. And my bank account is a bit lighter. Insurance pays for the exam, but not the lenses. I'm keeping my old frames. My heart rate is 64. I think that's good. BP is 105/63. First number is a bit higher than it used to be but still pretty good.
x tried to find phone charger; couldn't find it
x called airline twice - once returning phone call re: missing baggage. Boy, my BP should have been measured when I heard that word "missing" in regards to my bag! It turns out, that is just be the name of the dept. Called 2nd time when I realized my cell phone was dead - and I couldn't recharge it.
x finally figured out that the charger was right where it was supposed to be. I was trying to plug it into my phone upside down or something.
x looked at recipes and made a groc. list

Feeling irritated now. Dh didn't buy more milk or fruit while I was gone, so we are completely out. Also, he told dd18 she could babysit for S and R the morning that I leave for Hawaii at 7 a.m. I was counting on her taking the girls to and from school that day. Now, they have no way to get to school. I guess they can walk; it's about 2 miles downhill to school. Uphill home, though. And, the garbage and recycling and plant clippings did not get taken to the curb.

OK, I'm going to get the groc. shopping done. I'll feel better then, I think.

I got up early, then got so tired after breakfast and napped in the recliner. DH and I are both running slower today. We're so tired from working yesterday.

I'd written a $3 check for a pen pal sample newsletter in March. The check got cashed in April, by the bank statement photocopies of cancelled checks in May, which came to us in the mail. A letter will go out to the editor today. I've already contacted her via email form on her site, never got my deserved issue AND phoned her last night. She "said" she'd look into it this morning, so we'll "see" if it comes. I told her I'm sending her a letter with my address label on the letter, in case something went wrong. She thanked me and that was that. I hate paying for things when there's no follow-through on the other end.

It's overcast here, will try to make it to 70* they say, so we'll "see".

I don't know how much Teeming Tuesday I'll get done today. It might be a good day to read and crochet, which I've been ignoring. I decided to continue my robin as I've already gotten it planned out. DH felt with my Fibromyalgia of the muscles and osteoarthritis of the hips, lumbar and sacrum, how 25 minutes of straight working on my feet might be too much for me. By doing the 10 - 15 min. at a time, I seem to get a lot done, feel good by the end of the day, and it works for me, which is the main idea for running my house and me.

Helia, I keep my old frames, too. I like them, they're still fashionable and are cheaper because they're FREE!

Harmony, DH and I volunteered in the church for years and years. When we stepped down and later left the church, nobody ever contacted us to see what had happened. It was out of sight, out of mind. There are no hard feelings. We're still friends with church people, we run into and kept 1 very close church friend. But it's too hard on me physically now, to stand, sit, and kneel. I feel awkward sitting like a little old lady. Hey! But I AM a little old lady! Sometimes we need to step down and let somebody else have their chance and take a turn. We'd overdone it and got carried away over the years.

Nancy, I thought your garbage day was the same as ours: Thursday.

BookSaver, I agree with Harriet. Why the secrecy to hiding the names?

Twins', I hope you get better soon. Sorry about the headache and the tummy, both.

I don't have one of those new modern super-duper phones with aps, and the internet on it. But I sure do have a timer and timer's are super! I got both of mine from Flylady's site. Sunbeam, push-button, digital read-out screen, one's loud and one's quieter. The quieter one is the one I use around DH because the loud one "bugs" him.

Laughing at Harmony's jerky comment... good for a smile.

I had another headache during the night so that sort of changed my plans for today. Did do my outside work early this morning, but with my headache still hanging around didn't feel like doing much more. I had planned to vacuum and mop today as I dusted yesterday, but I'll tackle those tomorrow.

As ya'll may remember I've been working on my genealogy for what seems like forever. I've been really focused on it during this past month and have made some significant progress. In the process I have been contacted by four long lost cousins. The stories have been interesting to share.

Growing up, my mother shared with me many stories of her extended family who lived in Philadelphia. In later years she lost contact with them. In a life is stranger than fiction category I was contacted by a person who also shares my g-g-g-g grandfather. Several emails were shared between us with her being very careful with her current information. I understand this as this is the internet age....anyway one of the things she told me was the name of her grandmother in reference to my g-g-g-g grandfather. She also told me where she had been born and raised.

Last night, on a hutch I mentioned this information to my mom....turns out this family is the one my mother grew up with. Who knew??? With information supplied by my mom, I wrote back to the gal...she's my age. This morning she wrote back saying she was in tears as she remembers all the stories about sharing Thanksgivings with her grandparents and mine.

Also I have two very old family photo albums. None of the pictures are labeled, but I remember my grandmother telling me this was the Philadelphia family that my grandfather was related to. Well...turns out the people in the album are this gal's grandparents, her uncle, aunts, her father and their dog. I see a road trip in my future when I go home to visit with my mom, who is by the way, so excited about reconnection with her lost family that she can hardly stand it. So glad I am making her smile with all my work...

Harmony...thanks for giving me an idea for how I can organize all my family history. I have one of those milk cartons that I and use as a family filing box and its already sitting empty under my desk.

Wrote but deleted a bunch of info about the sewing group problems, which is a long list. I have a slight hope that the group can discuss things calmly tonight. A slight hope.

But no, the president is not adding to her own work load. She has no trouble passing out work to other board members, giving orders, and rarely says please. The board secretary has called her behavior "possessive" and "controlling."

I'm not sure that the president has much experience working with volunteers -- and I'm not sure that she realizes how close she is to losing some of those volunteers.

I'm in wait and see mode for awhile longer.

Today my life is teeming with Multi-generation interaction and support.

#1 Generation - I took DMom to hospital out-patient this morning for follow-up X-rays (Pneumonia)

#2 Generation - I did multiple go-fer trips for DH this morning. He is still working hard on MPB major owie. I'm not sure what time DH stopped working last night. I woke up at 2:30am and he was finally home. The last piece of equipment to finish the repairs has been found and is being air expressed in.....it will arrive tomorrow. hoping it is coming on a different airlines than Helia luggage. Once that equipment arrives tomorrow, the installation will take 8-12 hours so maybe...just maybe by tomorrow night things well be back together. Maybe.

#3 Generation - DD birthday is Sunday. Today we went shopping to find the **perfect** gift and card for her. Card signed by all and gift was sent by priority mail.

#4 Generation - DGS17 and LO has been with me all day. It would be a hard decision to pick which one talks the most. They are both non-stop talkers. I'm craving quiet.....

#5 Generation - Yesterday I send email requesting to meet Great Granddaughter for lunch today. Didn't hear back so wasn't able to see her today.

Good gracious, (((BookSaver)))... I am constantly amazed at how... petty -- is that the word? -- grown people can be. This sewing group president needs a major wake-up call. Good luck tonight.

I think it is raining here, and power is beginning to flicker.
DH acted like we overslept... and then just piddled away the day on the computer, to my way of thinking. He is in the shower now, so we will finally get off to vote in a little while. I am less interested in voting this time than ever before. There are no local offices on our ballot -- at least not in the party primary we want to vote for. And state offices are most likely going to be decided in a landslide. If we voted in the other party, we could vote for sheriff, but that is also likely going to be a landslide for the incumbent, too, and although I like the challenger, I have nothing against the incumbent, so I would be very undecided in that race anyway.

Will need to go by the post office and bank, and * hopefully * dbil's office to get our reimbursement check for dmil's goods. Over $260 we're in our own pockets right now for her. Also need to check w/drug store to see if rx was called in yesterday.

I need to have my eyes checked... need to get bifocal lenses... need NEW frames, too, b/c both my sunglasses AND my regular glasses are a bit crooked now.
Ooohhh... dread the expense.
Have to go to dentist Friday... dread the expense... dread what he may say...

I am teeming w/nothing right now... just a sort of irritable impatience for dh to get this show on the road. Why on earth did he act like we had to rush around when we got up, I'd like to know???
So far, I have s2s, put a load of laundry in washer, talked to daunt and dcousin on phone, (somewhat better news in J&C), and talked to dmom on phone.
Not much to report. Sometimes I see who's online, like right now, "lucylee and 1 guest." I bet those guests think, "Why does that lucylee bother w/a housekeeping board? She never does any housekeeping..."

So I didn't get this posted before I had to run out to pick up ds. Now I'm home again.

continuing....I got a reminder that I needed to pick up dmom's meals by 3 today because the JCC is closed tomorrow and Thursday.

The dermatologist was quite speedy. I had a thingie taking off my face that was the equivalent of a blood vessel on the skin. Looked quite dark and people occasionally commented asking me if I had had it "checked out." So I have a small band aid. Then I picked up meals for dmom - they are in our extra refrigerator and I'll take them tomorrow. Back home I did goof off some, but when I tried to get anything done I got a phone call, or the printer ran out of ink or ran a "self check" that went on and on and then I scanned something and ended up with an extra page so I need to scan it again and then ds texted me about who was picking him up and I had to leave to go get him, then I forgot my phone and I need it when I pick ds up so I had to go back for it.

So here I am finally back.

How fun Cowinkie that you are in touch with this new "cousin". It is a very small world.

Mr. Guy's surgeon's PA called this morning and his knee replacement will be Thursday June 26th. Glad that part is done now we can figure when the best time for the outside of the house to be painted. I am really anxious to get that out of the way. The inside is - if I say so myself - smashing! I have never been one to step out and do something different. Now I have two accent walls - front room and master bedroom. The bedroom is a wonderful deep rose/pinky color and I can sit on the end of my couch and look down the hall right at it and I am ecstatic! Mr. Guy really loves it too and the TV wall in the front room which is now a light desert sunset shade - southwest anyway. I think it is called Laredo.

Today Lone Survivor was released in the stores and on pay per view . If you have not seen it - you have to. I just finished the book on my Kindle and in January Cowinkie, Sweetie, Dee and G, and Mr. Guy and I went to see it. I am really obsessed by Marcus Luttrell's story and how he lost his friends in a bloody battle on an Afghan mountain. Where do these patriots come from? Our country seems to be recipient of so many who give their lives for freedom. We are so lucky.

Saturday is the Belmont and California Chrome is again the favorite. Our local owner has been around our two little towns with pictures of the horse and signing autographs. This is a rags to riches story - two guys who took a chance and came out winners. I love it!

Time to get off my tush and finish putting back some my treasures in the curio cabinet. Everything is cleaned thoroughly before it goes back. I have the cleanest house in Northern Nevada!
