It will be do-over day here a bit.

So far we've already done-over the laying of the sound insulation mat for the treadmill and bike. They are installed in the apartment now and tuned up. They moved the equipment for us which meant dh didn't have to worry about breaking the treadmill by disassembling and reassembling it. Plus our move will cost a bit less because time was calculated for that by the estimator.

They look great in the space, and we have lots of room for dh's office equipment. Dh and I also laid out where my big desk will go in the living room and I can't get over the view I will have.

The bar stools work with the new bar tables (if you ignore coloring and we have no choice about that, the stools have sentimental value, they were not bought for their style.)

We will do-over our trip to IKEA as dh picked up the cart I indicated on the form while I ate yesterday. Unfortunately, I had written the black cart down, figuring the while would be next to it in the warehouse. Then failed to telepathically communicate that to dh. We actually got it wrestled all the way to the apartment before I realized the error that may have happened. Nothing on the package indicates colour.

I have returns to make at HD, IKEA (and buy the right cart) and Costco and have to pick up a gift card for the supply minister's going away gift.

My meeting at Presbytery today was cancelled so that frees up time. Dh and I are going to walk to the grocery store now to buy lunch.

Today is the one-year anniversary of dh's aortic valve. He really wanted a b'day party, but I don't think he feels up to eating cake yet. With all the problems he had after that surgery for so long, I'm just glad he's operating at the mode he is!

Morning ya'll..

I don't know if I would call my day a do-over because I am continuing my work reorganizing my office space. I have new piles of stuff that needs to find their new correct homes.

So far today I've done my morning stuff, watered my plants and swam 10 laps. Its hot out there

Speaking of which, the pavements are way above the 120* mark. That creates a problem for my feet. I wear sandals because they are cooler on my feet. However this means the skin on my feet are exposed to the heat reflecting of the ground. And no matter how much lotion I use, my feet tend to dry out and are rough.

The other day I came across this treatment for rough feet and have been using it with great success. It requires soaking your feet for ten minutes a day. I put the solution in two plastic shoe boxes, place heavy towels under my desk and soak my tootsies while I am on the computer. Blue Listerine is used so your toes turn sort of blue, but the color comes off when you scrub you feet with a wash cloth while you are rinsing them. When I'm finished, I dump all the solution into on shoe box, stack the two together and put a lid on it...my bathroom is next to my office so I store it on my counter top so I can use it the next day. Keeping it in plan sight reminds me to soak my feet.

The results, at least for me, have been wonderful. My whole foot is so much softer. Once I rinse my feet off, they are soft by then, I slather them with heavy duty lotion and cover them with socks. You probably don't need to do that, but then I walk around with socks till the lotion is absorbed or I remember to take the socks off, which ever comes first.

Here's the recipe...it makes enough for two shoe boxes and I use it for three days before I change out the solution.
1/2 cup Blue Listerine (needs to be blue though I don't know why)
1/2 cup vinegar I use apple cider because that's what I have
1 cup warm water.

Time to go ...my feet are done and its time to start back on my mess..... Cy'all later, enjoy your day.

Harriet: we hired two people from the fitness store to do the work. They were paid cash, off the books. When we bought the items, delivery is optional and pay staff members with a truck to do it for you.

Dh and I walked to the grocery store to buy my lunch stuff. Lunches are still very expensive (about $8) but I'm getting healthier food and having milk instead of soda to drink.

Dh is assembling the second bar table (we had to buy two small ones since there were no larger ones) and then we'll get on to the next task. At this point prioritizing and making up a to-do list is really important.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Another cloudy day here with possible rain. We need it, so won't complain.

Swept and mopped entry way and kitchen. I haven't been able to sweep in months and when the guys think they need to do it, they do the center good but not the corners. So it was a major job but I love having a clean kitchen floor. Things are shaping up.

Did exercises. DH was able to help for awhile so got my arm stretched farther. Making a little progress there. I had tears of joy in my eyes when I went a little farther.

Work day for me so a little nap and then off I go.

I got up at normal time (5am) this morning and been going almost non-stop. Walked on treadmill, spent time in vegetable garden, prepared breakfast, monitored and mentored LO, took LO to a playdate with friend, drove the mower in our yard 1.5 hours, picked LO up from his playdate, spent 1 hour filling med containers for the next month, cooked & served lunch then cleaned up the kitchen. I look around and think .....why can't I keep up with stuff? I need to GMAT and get things done.....but I'm always busy doing something else.

LO is exhausted from his playdate so he and DH are both taking much needed naps. I'm going to hop back on the mower for a hour and hopefully finish the yard. Regardless, at 3pm I'll stop and come inside and start indoor chores and prep for tonight.

I feel like I've been on task pretty well today but still haven't gotten to deeper cleaning for the party. I have gotten more done. I have:
- checked on hens and collected eggs
- kept laundry going; lol #4 in the washer. First 2 have been folded and put away. #3 is in the dryer.
- put away sheets
- picked up GG from school
- reclaimed the kitchen
- a dfriend I hadn't talked to in about 22 years called!! We are fb friends now and had talked about having a phone conversation at some point. It was good. Took some time but was good.
- lunch
- checked my camera, which seems to be broken. Ergh. What else will go wrong? It was in the bottom of my suitcase. I wonder if it got damaged by luggage handlers yesterday? Externally, it looks fine. I'm recharging the battery.

A.m. routine will be officially done once I make the bed, but now, I need to get the crockpot started. We'll eat late, after graduation, about 8:30, I suppose.

Next:
- start crockpot
- make bed
- keep laundry going
- get photos of dd18 before she leaves. She has her gown and all the accoutrements. She gets to wear a stole-ish looking collar thing for her high GPA!

Dd18 has painted a very nice copy of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" on the top of her mortar to commemorate her Dutch heritage and her love for the skies, stars, and painting. Very like her. . . Why be like everyone else when you can be unique?

So very excited and happy for Helia DD18. Big night and accomplished in her own unique & wonderful style. I love it!!

Yard is mowed. Hard to believe it has been mowing season for over 3 months and I think this is only the second time the yard needed to be mowed. It is sooooooo very dry that even the weeds are only about 3" tall. When I got off the mower, I was COMPLETELY covered in dirt. Thinking positive.....there is no need to use sunscreen because the dirt covered every part of me.

DH was home for almost an hour to eat lunch and nap a few minutes with LO before he went back to work more on MPB owie. The motor & pump was just delivered so now that adventure begins. It is always hotter in the equipment room than it is outside....and it is currently 103 degrees outside. Not a fun environment to work. It is a one person job due to limited space. I'll be delivering him fresh iced drinks a couple times this afternoon to make sure he stays hydrated and check to make sure he is doing okay..

DMom xray report was good. She is officially over the pneumonia. I continue in my concerned about DMom mental state. This morning DMom threw a temper tantrum (her words) in the local grocery store. DMom likes to buy things when they are on sale....this morning DMom used last weeks sale flyer to make her selections and was furious when the cashier told her the items were not longer on sale. DMom asked for the manager and demanded that he sell her the items at last week's sale price. She said she told the manager "Daniel you know I love you, but the customer is always right. I thought these items were on sale and I want the sale price. Are you going to lose a customer over a $1.00?" Another cashier got involved which made DMom so furious that she vowed to everyone withing shouting distance that she would NEVER RETURN to that store again. This is the only grocery store in town and the one that DMom has shopped at for 60+ years. It is more than just a grocery store to DMom....

Next up - make salad for tonight's meal using largest bowl I have. I think it will hold 5 heads of chopped lettuce. Hope so....

Hi everyone! I had a post yesterday, and managed to forget the last button to submit it! Here is the important stuff from it:

Saturday, we had a crisis call - a tiny baby cat with an extruded (and very gross looking) eye. She was in my bathroom Saturday and Sunday on antibiotics and pain relievers. The finders named her Bolita (ball in Spanish) and there was a definite language barrier! Normally, they do not perform surgery on 12 oz kittens (approx. 4 weeks), but they will if it is life threatening. Monday, she became a one-eyed kitten and is doing much better, and is a LOT easier to look at. I needed a strong stomach to get up close to the remains of her eye to give her the meds, but the vet did not want to attempt surgery without antibiotics on board. Very cringe-inducing. It would be best if we had a mom cat and a litter for her when she is better, but we don't. I am hoping dFosterCat2, whose last kitten was recently adopted, will take to her. The sibling 'problem' is easily solved. There are enough stray kittens that we can assemble her a litter without much difficulty.

The above is relevant, because today, which was supposed to be job search ad infinitum, has instead consisted of shuttling Bolita to the vet. She is sneezing pink fluid from the side where the eye was removed. Vet's assessment was: continue with antibiotic, pain meds, cone of shame, and keep watch. If there is still a problem in two days (or if she is worse), call them back. In between kitten pick up and drop off, I was able to squeeze in lunch, some pick up, and LOL. Next up: job search activities, then a scrapbook Bible study. I am not into scrapbooking, but I miss my Bible study on Wed night. It has been suspended for the summer.

Here's a skippable rant:

Last night, I discovered one can have in-law issues, when one no longer has in-laws! The X wanted me to keep DD12 yesterday until later than usual. (For once, he arranged it well in advance rather than calling at 10 pm the night before). Since DD is about to leave for AL with his parents, I wanted the extra time, and all was well. We were at a McD's playscape when he called to pick her up and arranged for him to get her from there. He comes in, she is not enthusiastic about leaving, but getting her shoes on and collecting the trash. He tells her, "Hurry up, your grandparents are in the car!" My comment to him was, "They didn't even come in to say hello? That's not very nice. I am certainly going to say hello to them!" To his credit, he did not try to defend their action or stop me when I marched out to greet them. I did say hello, but they barely acknowledged my existence, and did not even get out of the car. The other woman was there, and while she did greet me, I doubt she was thrilled to see me. For more than 20 years, I was part of their family, and they either cared for me or pretended to. At most, twice a year, we are actually in the same city. While I did not expect them shower me with flowers and gift baskets, I don't think it is unreasonable to think they could enter McDs and say hi. Neither has mobility issues! It's especially thoughtless, because they are in regular contact with my parents and sometimes even stay at their house! (They stay with my parents, EVEN THOUGH ANOTHER SON LIVES ABOUT A MILE FROM MY PARENTS!!!) I am not sure they realize that I could have stopped them from taking DD to their Camp Grandma. In the divorce decree, signed by the judge, I am supposed to have her for my birthday every year, but she will be in AL with them. Camp Grandma has always encompassed my birthday, not sure if it is personal or the way multiple kids' schedules work out. I did think they had more class than to be rude though. Do they think that will endear them to their granddaughter? Do they think that will help them get free accommodations at my parents' house while they visit their son's family? I can assure you that I told my parents about their actions. I am LIVID!
