(((ELizabeth))) I remember when H. Was VERY angry at x dil after they split it was like 2 yrs. Before he could even attempt to be civil! He knew it was rude but better than the alternative aka yelling or what ever.

Free fishing day imp. Vote about church stuff all on the same day pot luck is next week sheesh they could have planned this better imo.

I loaded some donations and dumped trash.
Hoping to get rid of some mental clutter as well.

Boots are still MIA. I just find it so strange. I find myself looking in the weirdest places now.....behind the washing machine....inside LO baseball bag.....

I feel so very bad for DH. Last night after working hours to install the brand new motor & pump, it was immediately fried when he turned power on. DH said he probably wired it wrong. He has been working too many hours multiple days in a row....in too hot of an environment and is physically/mentally exhausted. Another new pump/motor should be delivered later today. This morning DH immediately veto my suggestion to hire someone to install it. I haven't tallied the exact cost of this MPB owie but know it is approaching $10k.....probably more. I will just be glad when DH can stop working so hard....and the telephone will stop ringing with customers asking when MPB will be working again.

This evening is LO last ball practice followed by team party. Hum.....LO and a dozen of his friends eating Pizza, snow cones and running through the spray park in 100+ degree weather. I expect the energy level will be sky high and lots of laughter will be heard.

Snark Alert!

I just sent my email to the X, dripping with concern for his mom, stating firmly that EVERYONE would have understood if she had cancelled, and with a PS that if there was ANYTHING I could do to be of use, he needed only to call me.

If he calls me on overreacting, I can remind him of my grandmother, who really could not walk across a small parking lot. Well, she could, but she would require a nitroglycerine tablet. It was not too long before her death. So, it is perfectly understandable that this would worry me. I thought about saying I would put her on the church prayer list, but I thought that would be (1) overkill, and (2) dishonest to the church.

The fact that one is "not a big walker" (X's phrase) does not exempt a person from basic manners. In fact, his excuse is a further insult, it translates to "you aren't worth the bother of getting out of the car". Also, no one is claiming mobility issues with xFIL. I really wish I knew some people in their home town. I could call them, tell them what happened, and beg them to help out with the camp, as many as I possibly could. You can bet, THAT would spread fast! And no, my parents don't know anyone I could call either. I must satisfy myself with private gloating rather than public humiliation. I suppose that is really better anyway.

When he does let me know that xMIL is ok, I will tell him it would be good if they could at least be polite, for DD's sake. He will know that I don't accept the slight, but I have enough class to rise above it. Unspoken is the idea that perhaps certain other people do not.

Nancy: They had better learn to be polite, because legally, on June 13, DD12 is supposed to be with me. I have not insisted on it, because I want her to have grandparent and cousin time. However, if they are going to insult me right in front of her, I do not have the obligation to be any more cooperative than the law requires. And there are no "grandparents' rights" in this state. Before the X married the other woman, they were not only polite, but went out of their way to see me, and never failed to give me hugs.

Good afternoon! Hope everyone is having a good day today - better than the last couple of days for a few of you!

Congratulations to Helia and Blessedw2's dds graduations from h.s.; a good milestone to begin a new adventure in life!

Harriet, your dd has a good sense of humor. I'll bet dgs2be is now ready to join the rest of his dfamily!

My few Ta-Das for the day are my regular routines, lol folded and ready to put away, dh's lol ready to start, five more pieces of fabric prewashed by hand and on the drying rack on the front porch, to name a few things. I used the rinse water to give a few plants in the garden a drink. I'm glad I washed it as there were a few pieces that the color ran a little.

Ds#3 called a little while ago. He had told us last week he planned on coming to FL for a long weekend at the end of this month. Turns out that someone else had already put in the that weekend so he won't come. But it appears that we are still going to fly up to visit his dfamily. So...I need to be making a l*st of things to do to get ready. As soon as I get it all straight in my head it will go on paper to check off.

OKay, I was going to suggest as other did to contact GoodWill.

One more thought...I watched/listened to a program on Create Channel this morning while working in master BR called Peddling America. It's about touring the U.S. cities by bicycle. Today they were in Sedona, AZ and had reminded me of Sedona here and wondering how she is doing!

You cannot make folk treat you the way you want unfortunately, we had a cranky neighbor that was onery the whole time he was alive all I can say is now we are glad he is gone too bad even family felt that way. My in - laws tried to break us up a couple times but I was the most stubborn! Lol!

Elizabeth I hear that! We had to limit gparents visits bc kids got serious sunburns at a theme me park adults did not have enough common sense to get out of the sun, they got burnt too they were not happy when we said "no" the next time they wanted to take 'em to one of those.

Kids are here now.

Just got off the phone with the X after getting the email stating that xMIL was just tired. Predictably, he says I am overreacting. He does not see it as an insult at all, of course. He said I was overreacting when I called it mean that they weren't going to see me in McDs. Maybe I was, I don't know. All I know is that two people I thought cared for me seem to want to forget I exist. Or maybe, it's just that I ran out of anti-depressants a few weeks ago, and I waited until my heath coverage came in to get a refill. Now, I am horribly upset and I cannot afford to be. I did tell him that I did not care what they or anyone else thought about me, but that I expected to be treated politely.

Kitchen is progressing.

When I read Lilac's description of moving her daughter's kitchen, I thought she was being overly nice and working too hard, she should have let the movers carry.

But now I believe it is the most efficient way of doing things if the two houses are within a reasonable distance of each other. You clean the new kitchen and then take over manageable loads, put away, go back and repeat. No time wasted thinking about where things are, they are either in the old kitchen or the new one, not in any misplaced or long-ago packed box. I worry I might not ever find things again.

But most importantly, there's a huge time savings in not taking time to pack things safely. They don't have to be too safe if they aren't being handled by men or riding in the back of a truck or buried under heavier boxes.

Anyway, I think I may have done enough for now. If I hand carry over my food, I don't have to wrap each jar to keep it from breaking so I might do another box or two of food, but for now I think I'm done with the cupboards.

Out of 37 cupboards/drawers in my kitchen 11 are empty and the majority of the rest have only a few items in them (i.e. for a 3 shelf cupboard, only 1 shelf is left to pack.)

I think I'll nap for a bit.

BTW: we had very bad news today about internet. Turns out the problem in the apartment is not our travel router but the plaster walls. The lath blocks transmission of wifi (and cordless phone) signals.

This is bad because

1) we need internet throughout the apartment (my desk is a good 40' away from dh's and we need it for Chrome cast and the blu-ray player as well.)

2) we will have 3 phone lines, but 2 are on VOIP so there is only one jack for those. We were planning to use our 2-line phone with cordless handsets to put a phone in the bedroom, kitchen and living room as well.

3) there is no way to run wires through the wall so it looks like there might be hundreds of feet of cable run along the floor boards and ceilings in order to get signal to the whole apartment. This will add about $1000 in expenses (signal boosters and additional routers), not to mention make the apartment look shoddier.

What confuses us is that when we 'sniffed' for internet signals, we got about 20 wifi signals from adjacent apartments. How is it that we can 'see' those apartments but can't see our own signals? When we are on the VOIP phone now, we can't move away from the room with the router without losing the phone call and we can't connect to the wifi in any room but the office (where the primary modem is located.)

Hi everybody!

I had the day off work. (First the first time ever, they have too many drivers! That is soooo much better than over working the few drivers that you do have.)

I went to my little storage unit where all my paperwork is. I have 3 tables set up there, and nothing to distract me, so I got a lot done. Brought 1 bag of recycling home and 3 bags of garbage!

I saw a hint somewhere else that I used with great success today. (F b ook) I bought large freezer bags and put one year into each bag after I had sorted things into their yearly piles. Everything from the same year is all in a clear bag and doesn't fall out or get lost or wet. The only problem is that you need to buy freezer bags that are larger than all the other freezer bags out there. They are a bit more expensive and you only get 10 per box, but I only needed 2 boxes for 20 years worth of paperwork. There is a small white area on the bag to write the contents. ("2014" as opposed to "ground beef" like the picture on the box...)
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.
