Saturday smiles

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

Will try to keep smiling today. We hope to finish the packing today, plus go to the apartment and visit dd.

That's a lot to expect out of any day.

What do you expect out of today?

The plants have to be moved now so they have time to adjust before being placed in their final spots (apparently, you allow them to adjust to atmosphere, out of the direct light, and then add in the light.

They can be tucked in the foyer at the apartment for now.

We have to pick up the new waterbed heater from the post office. I had it delivered to the new place - bad idea since I can't get to that post office easily.

While there, we'll pick up the electric screw driver and other tools and bring them back here. We will empty the waterbed today and disassemble it tomorrow (or tonight if we have energy.) I've already made up the guest bed for us for the next two nights. (Then one night on the air mattress and back to the guest bed until the waterbed is ready to sleep on.)

I have a load of laundry on the line, one in the washer and two more lined up to go although I need to space things as much as possible to avoid stressing the septic system.

I might be MIA for the rest of the day since sitting down at my computer is lovely but I don't have time for it.

Surely understand the time 'crunch', Kathryn. Hope all goes well and smoothly in the next few days. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I slept horribly last night -part was my own fault. First I failed to take my 'sleepy' med and did that around 12:30. At 2:00a.m. my phone started ringing (here's my fault). I set it yesterday when I was doing laundry for 2 only it was A.M. instead of P.M. :o Then forgot to turn it off. So I read for a while & tried to get back to sleep. Woke again around 2:30 with a bad calf cramp. So walked around in our room for a while. (Dh never heard me -he's still sleeping in the recliner.) So I'm slowly 'hitting' the morning.

Do have the bed made, s2s, meds done and breakfast. Need to put up 2 weeks of meds for dh today. Also worked on our deck for about 7-8 minutes. Got the returnable cans out of the can & put in a new bag. Guess that's forward motion. Debating whether to make coffee for myself. :? Didn't make it last night as I was very tired and I knew dh could get a cup at the store by 7 this morning.

Dh's favorite co-worker quit yesterday. Told campowner (who's his cousin btw) that he's not doing the kind of real heavy work he was requiring of him. Said he'd stay to help out dh until campowner returned from FL in a couple of weeks.

Dfriend stopped by to see me -their first trip to the campground. They just returned from wintering in FL. Now I'm sleepy -guess I'll read for a bit and then get back at it.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hope coffee doesn't go up too much, Nancy. Oh, speaking of beverages, I recently bought some tea bags and I got the store brand. Last time I made iced tea I had to keep adding tea bag after tea bag to get any strength into it. So, I'm all for saving money with a store brand, but this is no savings. What brand do you all use?

I woke really early this morning again but my brain went back to the last posts, where Harriet asked if I was getting enough sleep. So, thinking about that I decided to stay in bed and guess what went into a really deep deep sleep and didn't get up until 11:00. Whatever is happening to me, I sure must have needed that sleep because I feel way better right now.

Got the bank statement from yesterday reconciled. It worked out the first time. I'm being really careful with everything I write down because if things don't reconcile I'm not sure I can figure out the problems. So I was grateful it all turned out ok.

Hugs for (Elizabeth).

:D Good Morning, Everybody! :D

The bunnies are out grazing in the quiet of the morning. I slept well. :)

(((Elizabeth)))

Kathryn, It's great you're almost 100% finished! :D

Dee , Sorry about your sleep.

Nancy , Waking up with a snort made me laugh. Sorry it was so early.

I am in the process of writing a to do list, might crochet today, read and do letters. I'd love to walk and wash up towels. The laundry's almost all caught up. Yeah! :)

Have a good Happy Smiley Saturday, Everybody! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Worked on bathroom but have to leave the rest for dh. Don't know what he wants to do with his stuff.

Need to do medicine chest next and label that box well (and hand-carry.)

Neighbours have been dropping by to say goodbye. A pleasant distraction. Dh remembered to borrow a wheelbarrow from one of them so the composter is now moved out of the way of the septic guys.

The waterbed has mostly drained but there's still too much water in it to lift it and the siphon has has stopped working.

Lunch break is over. Back to the packing.

Waterbed is done. We had to wrestle it to the tub and slice it open to get out the last of the water, the siphon failed when there was still at least 60 lbs of water left in the bag (and the bag is heavy even when empty and dry.) We'll let it dry out for a few days and then carry it downstairs. There's no garbage collection for 12 days so we have time to let it air dry.

I did the medicine cabinet while I was up there and my dresser is almost done. Am packing up a suitcase with extra clothing that won't fit in the wardrobe box.

Laundry just buzzed so it is time for me to pull in the first two loads and put out the next load.

Morning ya'll...

Oh Kathryn how well I remember the joys of emptying a water bed. I slept on on for years, but didn't like it much and I know people that just love their's.

I was up early this morning, but unlike Harmony, mine was planned. I wanted to watch the French Open and it started at 6am here.

However getting up early really helped me out. I did all my morning routines, fed doggies, picked up my footprints, did the laundry, watered my garden, trimmed my outside plants, gave Sadie TWD her morning shower, washed and cleaned my kitchen garbage can all during the commercials. I see a trend starting here. LOL Tomorrow is the men's finals so I'll be up and going early again.

That will really work well as I have a party to attend tomorrow that starts at 2:00pm and the hostess requested that I make my pecan pie. Since I know there's a crowd coming I asked if she wanted me to make two. She was delighted at my offer so while watching tomorrow's match I will make my pies. That way they will be fresh and still warm when I bring...or as Lucylee would say...carry them over.

You can now see the top of my desk. Boy has this been a major undertaking. I have rearranged everything in and on my desk. Files have been moved from one side to another, new files have been labeled as needed and the top of my desk is done. However I need to attack my closet which serves as my office supply space....That in its self will be a major job. I spent time devising a plan on how I wanted to do it. Gonna use my tried and true P&P way of doing things. I have some boxes marked, will work left to right as I go and only pull out and work a small area at a time. I'm giving myself four days to do it, although I think I can do it in less. Gotta get myself in a ruthless pitching mood before I start.

This afternoon is the Belmont race. When I had my Kentucky Derby party I created a wall with pictures of horses racing that I took when Sweetie and I went to the races here in the area....Never got around to taking it down...the display really looks nice if you're a horse person....and then California Chrome won again. So being a bit superstitious I decided not to take the display until after todays race. :D

Ahhhhhhhhhh ...Sweet Home Alabama is playing ...my favorite. Sing it Boys  Gonna TURN IT UP and rock it some more .......cya'll later
