Slept well. Am dressed. Am ADD'ing like crazy and possibly hear a truck.

See you when I have a second or two.

CM called to remind me to breathe and to keep my temper because getting fired by the movers would be a bad thing!

 Have a smoothe & simple moving day, Kathryn! Wishing our very best for a good day and good results!

Dh just called to tell me NOT to call the dentist -didn't tell him I had been waiting to talk to him as I didn't know when he could GO to the dentist. He's going around noon. Could have gone now but has to talk with campowner/boss before he leaves for FL. Praying this goes well -talking about a raise today.

I love my view right now -MH kitty corner from us pulled out Friday (I'm sure just for a few days) but I can see way across to the other side of the big pond.

Finally started my church council minutes last night. Now just have to finish them up and print them out -that's my morning task. So I best get movin' so I can get to that. BBL

Today is the day that GD is supposed to be "movin'" to GA with her new 'Guardian' family for the summer. They were to go yesterday but dd's teacher friend had work she had to get done at school before she left. In fact dd called me on her way home from cleaning her class roomS. She couldn't go back to finish up this week as she has 2 required courses (for re-certification) this week. It's 20 hours so she'll be done. And she only has 15 dozen shirts to print for DS-A before leaving. Hope she's able to get out of there by Friday! She had called her teacher friend apologizing as she's said she will step back & not interfere with process with gd. However gd had left her FB open on dd's phone and there was some pretty objectionable material on there. It was all good with her friend & she will attack it from an angle that they were able to track from other sources. It will be dealt with and gd may lose some privileges for a while. Certainly praying that time with them will change her attitudes and she'll grow into a nice adult.

Good Morning!

Excited for Kathryn! Breathe. :)

We have been overwhelmed by GOOD things happening during the weekend that I have spent very little time on PC.

MPB owies are repaired and we are back in business after 9 days of being down. DH is waaay past exhausted. I told him to plan on his body taking 9 days to recover from it. He is PFFFFT that idea, but I'm doing the countdown on his recovery from exhaustion anyway.

We received RAIN!!! 5.5" of RAIN!!! It has been soooooo wonderful to for so many reasons. We also received about 20 minutes of hail (quarter size) that beat everything up, but it hard to be upset about the damage since it came with SO MUCH RAIN!

Yesterday DMom returned to the local grocery store and apologized to the manager and cashiers. She can now return to her grocery store daily outing.

Life is back to **Normal**.

Have a great day Kathryn.

OKay the pictures posted on FB on Saturday of you and LO were beautiful.

Woken up by a news helicopter again today. There was a massive townhouse fire close to me overnight on Saturday/Sunday morning. 1 child died and more than 100 people are homeless. According to local sources, all of the donation sites are overwhelmed with the amount of clothing donations and are asking for people to stop donating clothes and please make cash donations to the family that lost the child to help with the funeral costs. A lot of locals just want the news media to go away.

I was not having a good day yesterday, so I need to get my work paperwork done as fast as possible this morning and get it over to the office.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Glad things are "normal", Okay. :D What is "normal" anyway?

There, I completed the church council minutes -after much finagling to get it to come out on just 2 pages instead of part of the third! It's printed and I think I'll take a couple hour break from that and proof it this afternoon. I'll have to copy it off when I get to church this evening.

We've decided we're not going to pot luck again tonight. Dh still isn't eating and his tummy is craving solid food. Since he has to be to his meeting at 7 (pot luck is at 6) and I drop him off, we thought we'd just skip it again tonight.

It's 9:30 -I'm not s2s, bed's not made but at least meds, breakfast and minutes are done. Think I'll s2s and do a 3-minute round robin to set things right through our home.

Kathryn, I remember when you got serious about moving from your home to an apartment. You said it would be in 18 months and I remember commenting how fast that 18 months would go and it has. I have marveled at how organized you have been at downsizing and packing. I am looking forward to your new adventures, living in the city and an apartment. I hope your home sells soon.

Dd2 has listed her home. She was not getting many calls, after placing an expensive ad in the paper that ran daily. At their price, she felt like no one wanted to deal with the sale by owner. They did put the first couple who looked at it down as exclusive buyers. Before she listed it, she lowered the price to them by $20000. They seem to want it but are slow in getting their ducks in a row. I am surprised that it hasn't sold, but then again, nothing in that price range seems to moving at this time.

I haven't posted in 2 weeks. I have been busy and in a funk.

The Tuesday after Memorial Day, dh returned home. Dd1 took her dmil to the ER and they admitted her. When she was released on Friday, they discharged her to the nursing home. Dd1 shed a lot of tears after her dmils 3 week spiral down that put her in the nursing home. Her dmil is adjusting but at times she talks like she works there. Dd1 feels like that is her coping mechanism. Her little dog now lives with dd1, her family and the 3 other dogs. They are able to take the little dog to see her dmil, which makes both of them happy. Dd1 visits her daily. Some days she knows dd1, some days she doesn't. Some days she cries when dd1 gets ready to leave. Friday night, dd1 was there when there was a tornado warning and she experienced the protocol to move everyone to the hall and shut all doors. She had taken Gypsy and her dmil was happily holding her the whole time. Dd1 said that now that her dmil had experienced the tornado warning and did fine, she would be checking the weather before she ventures there again with the threat of bad weather.

Our dbil is out of the hospital and slowly getting better after his heart surgery.

The boys have started their baseball season and they each have 2 games a week. Luckily they will be done by June 25, I believe. Dgs10 is also on an all star travelling team but they will only go to a few tournaments.

We started getting rain last Tuesday night. We have had about 3 1/2 inches of badly needed rain. Today it is suppose to be a high of 59 and rain. We are also suppose to have winds gusting up to 50 MPH.

I bought some plants and potted them. I also bought red rubber mulch to put around the boxwood bushes by the street. I went thru 6 bags of it. I need at least 5 more bags because I want to put it along the street and the sidewalk. The other 6 bags went at each end and the opening in the middle. It looks nice and hopefully will help keep the weeds under control.

On Thursday and Friday, the guy was here to install our windows and doors. As he was removing the front door and storm door, 4 tiles were broken because the guy who built the house for himself, had put them over the threshold. There was no way to know this ahead of time. The installer was really upset that it had happened. I told him that every time we do something, we run into issues because it is backwards to what is should be. I called dh and he told me to tell the guy not to worry about fixing the tile, that he would do it. We love our new doors. The storm door is all glass with a lock on it. The front door is a medium oak on the outside and white inside. It has a half circle of glass at the top with a design in it. Also has a peephole. Now I can keep the front door open since the storm door locks. It also has a key, so that is added security when we are out of town. Also, I will feel safer when dh is gone.

Dh was sick last weekend with a sore throat, etc. He worked Monday and Tuesday. Finally on Wednesday he stayed home and went to the dr. He had a really bad sinus infection and was prescribed an antibiotic, prednisone and a high powered cough medicine. By Friday, he felt well enough to return to work.

Saturday we bought dh a miter saw. He is going to need it because we are replacing the window and door frames with a more decorative wood and will paint it white. Then when we get the floors carpeted or wood flooring, he will put new trim that will be white.

Dh will be retiring in 6 1/2 months. He has now quit talking about continuing to work but at a different job at the plant. He drives me crazy by mentioning moving to the Ozarks. Then he will say, no I don't want to move anywhere again. I hope he can be content in retirement but I have my doubts. He always seems to want more of whatever and then keep upgrading. Time will tell. In the meantime, I need to go thru the house with a fine tooth comb, cleaning, sorting, reorganizing and getting rid of whatever before he is home full time.

My dm is still irritated at me over us not coming to dgnephews HS graduation. He was quick to send a thank you note, but he signed his full name, so really how close to us does he feel? His first name is a rare name, so it's not like I would question who this thank you note was from. Dm was really irked to find out that dh took that 5 day motorcycle trip. I hadn't talked to dm for 8 days so I called her last night. Let me tell you, my dm can really convey her feelings thru dirty looks or the tone of her voice,in person or over the phone. She proceeded to tell me how upset she was with db1 and his dw because they did not go to the cemetary where dstepdad is buried. They had bought flowers but then didn't go. Last week she was riding with them to a ballgame and was in the backseat. She mentioned that there was a solar lighted cross at his grave and dsisil told her that one of my dnephews and his family had taken it. So that is when dsisil said they had flowers but hadn't went. Dm told me that since dsisil was driving she could see just how mad dm was. Then dm said "I suppose you took your dm to your ddads grave?" Dsisil then told her that they had ridden there with her daunt. Dm said I just quit talking to them after that. Then at the game she said that she reminded dsisil about the family reunion on Saturday. This is my dads family reunion but he never goes and my mom always does because she is still close with his sister and mom always helps her with the reunion. Dsisil told dm that she had other plans and wouldn't be going but db was going. Then dm proceeded to tell me that dsisils plans were to go out to lunch with her dm and dsis and that they do that several times a month, so what is the big deal? I told dm that I didn't even know they were having the reunion. She told me they have it every year on the first Saturday of June. I reminded her that last year they did not because daunt had just had open heart surgery. She was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and they can't do surgery because of her ongoing heart issues, so radiation and chemo is all they can do for her. So because of her ill health, I didn't think they would have the reunion and dm never told me they were. I am just amazed at how hateful dm has become. Her mom was hateful from the time I was born until she had her strokes 18 years ago. She lived another 10 years and was so sweet but she didn't know who she was after the strokes.

So in a nutshell, that is my last 2 weeks.

Guess I better get around and shower. I have a bunch of errands but because of the weather, I probably won't get them all done today.

With all the quirks of this house, it has always been pretty soundproof. Now it is even more so with the new doors and windows. I can see the tree limbs swaying and yet I hear nothing outside.

Thank you for the update, Lilac! So kind of your dd1 to be so concerned about her dmil. Yes, being mad at a family member because they didn't visit a grave is unnecessary, I'd agree with you there. A cemetery visit is personal in the first place and the grave has to do with a body. Visiting is no measure of how much you cared for that person. Full name signatures - I once shocked HRH by tossing a card he signed with full name, because it would be offensive to a close person, I thought. Made him sign another one!

OKay, I am impressed with your dmother's decision to make a difficult apology.

Have been unable to put down a good book - unusual for me. Wrote about it in June's reading thread in Across the Cafe Table.

Didn't get enough sleep last night but scared to start a nap now. Dd gets out of school at 12, I'm supposed to take the book back to her teacher  and I don't know when dd34's dr's appt is. Lots of responsibility coming up, for all I know.

Best wishes for family changes today for Dee and Kathryn.

I am sooooo happy to be home alone today!

I am identifying with Lucylee today. I really really really did not want to go to the festival last night and did not think I would enjoy it. But it turned out to be a really nice evening - low humidity and a little breeze and not so crowded. And these friends had been there earlier and set up chairs and it just really turned out to be a great evening. If every evening at this festival could be like that, I'd go all the time. And I spent a lot of yesterday dreading it.

I slept in until 8:30 this morning. Have read the paper and had healthy breakfast and now catching up online.

Today I hope to continue the desk day I started on Friday and make some more headway. I also need to do some major footprint erasing and get back with routines.

Yes, glad to see Lilac and get caught up on her news.

Remembering our move almost two years ago and how sore and tired I was. I wasn't anywhere near as organized as Kathryn, tho.

I'm so pleased for all of OKay's good news! Rain, and MPb and dmother and all!
