Re: Thankful for Men Sunday
I am so thankful for Mr DeeClutter today & every day. Without him I wouldn't have all these wonderful grandchildren!
Truthfully, with all the life challenges he's had ever since he was mid 20's I am so blessed to still have him by my side and still going fairly strong. At age 25 he was given 2 months to 2 years to live. That was a very long time ago!
I got up at 5:30 to go to the bathroom & discovered the door was closed -dh was in there already. So I crawled back in bed and didn't get up until 7:45!
Then I REALLY had to get up (or remake the bed!)
Going to church in about 90 minutes. Have what I believe will be a lengthy meeting after church on the status of our sanctuary roof and the inside of the sanctuary. We will see!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OUR BOARD MEN OUT THERE!
A special Happy Father's Day to Mr. Sunny since you & Mrs. Sunny also share today as your anniversary -SO HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Re: Thankful for Men Sunday
I forgot to post yesterday that it was a year to the day since my dad woke up with a swollen leg. When we were at my dad's yesterday the "for sale" sign went up. Between the time that happened and when Mike and I left, every car that passed slowed down and 1 neighbour walked over with his grown visiting son to see what the price was. We are expecting the house to be sold in less than a month. Fingers crossed.
Mike and I are going to Niagara Falls for the night. We hope to be out of here in an hour. We are meeting friends on the way down and having a late lunch/early dinner with them.

Re: Thankful for Men Sunday
Just had a very confusing texting session with ddil. She had asked what our plans were for today & what time they should be here and what to bring. Called dh and asked him if he and DS-A had talked about them coming when they were at the races last night -"No". Then she texted me back to say they were camping at Jellystone & would come back home whenever we "all decided to get together". Finally had her call me and asked if she was talking about when dbil/dsil are coming -"Yes". Well that's NEXT week. I was scrambling trying to think how I was going to fit this visit in and having to go shopping with the church meeting & all. All's good now -told her to stay and enjoy the day -it's nice out.
I can now relax and enjoy the day. Couldn't figure out how they were camping -guess they went down on Thursday night and came home for the dance recital yesterday. DS-A went to the races with dgs14 and then they went back down to Jellystone (not too far from the race track). DDIL said she and the dgks got there about 8:30 last night. Confusion ended. Whew!

Have a great day, Cathy. Sounds fun. Hope the house is soon out of your hands and you can get on with the rest of your life. Guess we all have this cleaning out at some point. Oh how I hope that by the time I go that there's very little for dd and dsons to go through. Maybe if we make this move to Brunswick, GA with them (for sure we'll be moving somewhere!) I'll be able to cull even more. Just looking around our RV and our storage truck is quite enough without adding in what we have in FL.
And to think so much was culled when dks and dh cleaned out our house after 40+ years of living there!

It's a Sunny Anniversary!

I emailed dsonil - quite a special day for him.
My first Father's Day without my ddad, but I really don't feel too sad about the day. We didn't go in for big celebrations. I usually baked him something - a batch of biscuits was more common than cake, actually.
HRH's first Father's Day without Joe. He said to visiting friend the other day that he loves his mother and their relationship is repaired, but no one can be the same as the "Pop", when it was "Pop" who was always there for you.
I haven't talked to dd about the day yet - I'm sure she will have some sad thoughts.
I regret not getting a card in the mail to dstepfil, but he visited here yesterday and we all had a good time. So getting a card on the same day wasn't so important.
We'll be heading out to church soon. Dd is just getting finished with her shower.
Happy to be on track with Morning Dailies again, after the trip. Today was a darks laundry load early this a.m. and now all morning dailies are done. Routines are good again - first breakfast of strawberries and second of eggs and bacon are in my tummy. Supplements taken.

Re: Thankful for Men Sunday
Good morning, villagers ~
I am grateful for the prospect of a quiet day.
Thurs & Fri = Sewing day camp 9am to 9pm, including a 1 1/2 hour board meeting on Fri. Not as much fun at camp as usual because of junk going on with the group's president. However, I did enjoy sewing, I shared the sewing table with someone I really like, and a few people liked the meal I cooked Friday night so much that they wrote down the recipe.
Yesterday = sewing group general meeting with the members lasted all morning, cleaned up my sewing space at camp & packed out, quick stop at the grocery store to buy some meat for the grill before coming home, unloaded sewing gear from the car, took a very short nap with the calico cat.
(Note that this was the first sewing group event in several years that I had to leave early and other people were responsible for staying to the end and doing all the clean up. Hmm, actually I could get used to that!
)
Last night = drove up to DH's oldest brother's (an hour away) for a cook-out and had a great time with family we haven't seen since December. We sat around a fire in their back yard until after midnight. It was so much fun laughing with them.
Today I have a meeting at 11 with the sewing group events organizer because every day she forgot to bring the registration payments from the people who were at the camp. Then I'll get the deposits ready to take to the sewing group's bank tomorrow.
Other than that, I don't plan to do anything today but 3Ds, and go out to lunch with DH whom I have barely seen for over 3 days.
Off to s2s, then will cuop.

Morning Ya'll...
Hummm.... Yes I am thankful for Sweetie. He is kind, compassionate, and generous to a fault. His sense of humor is quirky and his work ethic is amazing. I am so lucky that he's back in my life for a second time. We had a special relationship growing up as kids and it continues as we grow old.
I have had a busy morning. After finishing my morning routines and feeding the doggies, I started on reorganizing a large drawer in my kitchen. Took a while but now it is done.
Yesterday I baked doggie cookies for Sadie and Willis. They are made from gluten free flour, peanut butter, olive oil and water. Easy peasy and the puppies love them. Plus the cookies are so much cheaper than the healthy peanut butter treats I buy at the store. I had bunches of fun making them and am now going to look for some doggie style cookie cutters. I have many friends with puppies and I think the cookies will make good gifts for special holidays.
I have two loads of laundry going...they should be almost finished. I have some desk stuff I want to work on this morning, plus I want to spend time on my genealogy. I am entering data to my "tree". It is time consuming, but the results will allow me to "hook up" with others who have the same family members.
My dinner is made, leaving me only to cook my chicken. Sweetie wants to watch a movie this afternoon and we enjoying doing that together. Way too hot outside to do much more...I'll bet my swim in a bit later. Need to do some tree trimming as well, but that is a very early morning activity....think 5am. Gets hot fast around here these days.
Hope all ya'll are having a great day no matter what your plans are... Cya'll later.....

Re: Thankful for Men Sunday
Things are a little tense here as I opted out of going to to the festival last night and dh didn't go and was quite unhappy. OTOH, when I asked what time he wanted to go, he didn't specify, then me fell asleep on the couch. So misunderstandings all around - he says he fell asleep waiting for me to say I was ready to go.
I slept in until 10 p.m. today - headachy from so much sleep and I really hate sleeping that late. I've read the paper, then picked up dog poop and toys so dh could mow the yard, and brunch of mushroom, spinach and eggs with some feta cheese.
I had asked dd to let us know if she could come from K-town today but haven't heard from her. Assuming no unless I hear from her or see her pulling in. The three of us will have lasagne and salad tonight. Maybe go to store for peaches and make a peach pie too?
Since dh is outside, I'm going to do some watering, mulching, straighten up/dust porches front and back today. Have done parts of a.m. routine...
