I need a reset too!

Took LO to swim lessons this morning. He started in beginner class with children his age but they decided to move him up to intermediate. So we stayed for the next class (1 hour lessons). He was a tired kiddo after 2 hours of lessons. On the way home, he asked a couple times "what are those white things?". I thought he was seeing the white fluff from cottonwood trees. After a bit, I realized he either got too much chlorine or sun (or both) and it has affected his sight and given him a headache. I did a quick google search and seems it should disappear after flushing & resting eyes. I've put drops in his eyes and he is down for a nap. HOpefully his sight will be better when he gets up. And yes, most definitely drinking water will help!

We will leave to take DH to doctor appt in 30 minutes. He took a high powered pain pill this morning so can't drive. DH thinks he has a kidney stone. DH has finally agreed to give up on "waiting it out" so I called this morning and got him an appointment.

Next up -
** DW loaded and started
** finish folding clean clothes and put away
** 3 minute RR

OKay , I'll be Thinking of You, LO's eyes & your DH, his pain, & kidney stone possibility. When it rains, it pours. :o

Cowinkie , I didn't know the LDS church did genealogy classes. Do they allow non-Mormons to attend, too? I'm not Mormon, but my 5-greats-grandfather was Wilfred Woodruff, a President of the Mormon Church, & he had a brother, who forded across streams, from back East to the NW, so wagon trains would know where they could cross. I have his photocopied journal from the 1800's, from the U of WA archives, of which they photocopied for me, because I was a descendent. On days/nights they stayed in one place, didn't travel anywhere, he'd write in his journal, the date & "Stand By." Or "We stood by today." It was sad to see youngsters get ill & pass away, etc... I someday would love to print up his journal, by re-typing it from beginning to end. Anyway, it's neat to look back. I found out I could be a Daughter of the Pioneers AND/OR a Daughter of the American Revolution, but didn't want to do paperwork & attend a bunch of meetings. I DID go to a DAR meeting once, with a little old lady dfriend & had FUN! ;) Genealogy is NEAT! :!: Go, Girl! :P

Kathryn , I bet you'll be SO HAPPY when your house officially sells, when you're settled ALL in, & can R-E-L-A-X!!!! :D

I've done 14 three-minute rounds now. I sold another story, so the December paycheck will be a BIG help at Christmastime. :) I'm so happy, to take 1 person here in my young motherhood life, 1 person there in middle age, then make up 1 person, who's like so-and-so, & turn it all into a story with a moral or conflict & then solution or love. It's a challenge, but weaving & inventing lives & plots is interesting & fun, as they & everything evolves.

I got a new pen pal! :)

The last of the laundry's put away, except for a tank top & socks & underwear on my side of the bed. My feet/ankles are tired, b/c I took off the custom-made orthotics at 1 p.m., to put on the AFO's, for knee/hip comfort or else it's excruciating pain by bedtime. It's b/c you need to slowly wean off the AFO's & slowly break into the custom-made orthotics. Tomorrow, my goal's to make it until 1:30 - 2 p.m. in the orthotics. As each days comes, I'll add 30 - 60 minutes to wearing them, until I can go all day. Then, I'm gonna go buy some psychedelic-colors good running/athletic shoes to brighten up my summertime! Heck! I might even buy a fun bright sunhat to match! LOL! The sky's the limit. ;)

Aha, Kathryn, now I seem to remember that little clause. Thank you for refreshing my memory.

I went to get a few groceries while dh was at the dentist. As I came out before I got past the overhang, my right knee went Kaboing! And immediately hurt & burned. Then I couldn't put weight on it -a woman came up just at that time and stopped to see if I needed help. I really limped my way back to the car, but made it. Have no idea what I did.  It's some better now but I'm not in walking shape. I'll take my cane tonight to potluck -first time we've gone in a few weeks. I've had baked beans on lowest setting on the microwave for a couple of hours now. Hope they're good.

I had to take a long nap with the calico cat, and then had a quick little lunch of leftover goulash. That was from last Tuesday, but it smelled and tasted ok so I took the chance.

Then I drove a bunch of checks to the sewing group's bank to deposit. Very embarrassing when it was discovered that my total was wrong. I had written the number on the deposit slip that is the total on my spreadsheet for what was due for the event. Unfortunately, one of the checks is coming late because the event organizer lost it, but I forgot to deduct the amount from the number for the deposit slip. That's what happens when I'm rushed and don't take the time to double-check my addition.

So then after the bank I had to get gas and stop at Sam's. My card for Sam's was so old that the magnetic strip was peeling off and I had to get a new one. That meant they had to take my picture. :| :P I think it looks really weird, because their printer squished the sides of the picture together. At least it makes me look taller and thinner instead of squishing the other way.

I bought a tower fan for the kitchen. Most of our rooms have ceiling fans but that one doesn't, and it needs something. The fans that DH has loaned me in the past were all really noisy. If this fan is quiet and puts out enough breeze, I may go back in a few days and buy another one for my bathroom, which also gets meltingly hot in the dog days of summer.

(((Dee))) hope your knee is okay.

Bookie - BTDT on the bank deposit......way more times than I want to admit to

I just love our family doc. His schedule was booked solid so we made appt with his son (father/son are doctors in same office). However, when our doc (father) saw DH name on the schedule he worked DH in. The doctor son is okay.....but we know too many of his bloopers when growing up & college years. We would trust him to treat us, but we definitely prefer the father. ANYway, family doc agrees with DH suspicions . Kidney stone is #1 suspect. DH will have a CT scan in the morning to confirm it. In the mean time doc gave pain pills and told DH to use a strainer to catch anything that might exit on its own. TMI

Next up -
** Dinner clean-up
** update personal checking account
** Mow for an hour.

OH my goodness, a long nap with a calico cat sounds wonderful, Bookie! Do you loan your cat out?

I've been doing paper taming, making some progress. I finally got access to dmom's credit card account online, and I've found that she's not paying it off every month. She has the funds, just doesn't seem to understand that she's not paying as much as she puts on it every month. I also found the other day that she hasn't paid her property taxes for last year. I think I'm going to explain to dbro that she's not paying off her card and she's paying interest and fees (when she's late, which she has been a couple of times...) and to just give me the statement after she sees it and I'll take care of making the payment. And I need to call the county prop tax office to get the correct amount to pay for her property tax bill.

And in true SHE form, I'm trying to find some papers I rounded up at her house last week - one was a bill I needed to pay.

OKay, glad dh gave in and went to see the doc. Glad he's getting some relief too!

Dee, hoping the knee is back to normal soon. Ouch!

Cowinkie, I know how obsessed one can get with their genealogy. I'd really like to spend some time on it; I have several of those dead ends I'd like to look at again.

Dh went to Fire meeting after we went to potluck. Potluck is probably a good social time, however it's almost always carb laden. At least I didn't have dessert. Choices were boxed scalloped potatoes, 2 different pasta dishes, my baked beans, a corn/tomato salad which was good, potato chips and cake. I really have to find some things to make that are not carbs. Any ideas?

RE: less carbs potluck thoughts - sliced cheese, vegetables (especially green vegetables), protein based salads (tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad), roast, whole chicken broasted

Whining.....Our internet connection is so flaky. We don't have many options and none are good. Just saying.......

LO bath is done. DW ran and emptied, LOL is going. I'm going to jump into the shower and get the mower dirt off then go to bed. We have to be out the door before 7am for DH test tomorrow.

Home and several of the boxes I brought from the house are put away here. I hate to add to my number of boxes left to unpack so often try to get things put away immediately. Of course, I'm in the two steps back stage right now but eventually, that will change.

I can't think where all my records for non-profit housing board are. I need them for Thursday. Hopefully, they are still at the house.

We got the bedroom level and upper main floor done. The kitchen looks great. Tomorrow I have to go back and wipe the ash from the oven cleaning, and then finish the lower main and basement. Dh worked hard on the basement while I worked on the kitchen so things are manageable and I'm making him stay home tomorrow so he can work on the NZ project.

Off to bed, very late, but pleased with the progress at the house today.

:?: :o DH & his buddy tried fixing my right AFO, but the screw keeps coming loose, so I walk slowly & careful. Tomorrow, I wear the custom-made orthotics to 2 p.m.
Wed. until 3 p.m.
Thurs. until 4 p.m.
Fri. until 5 p.m.
Sat. to 6 p.m.
Sun. to 7 p.m.
Mon. to 8 p.m.
Then, I believe I'll be "weaned" off the broken AFO, back into the orthotics w/regular sized good fitting supportive shoes with normal-sized socks; even pretty knee socks. :)

I did 14 (3-minute) rounds, but then with running to & from the printer, to the office, dining table, w/dinner, etc.. I'm sure I got more than the RR 48 minutes in of movement. I should do some stretching this evening, too.

HAVE A WONDERFUL EVENING RESET!!!!!! :D

I GOT RESET FROM STORIES TO POEMS! :!: :P
