Lucylee: Thanks for the antiques roadshow update, I was curious!
Dh and I watched the sunset on the longest day.
Must go and take another picture right now, since the sky is a gorgeous red.
(Interrupted my post to do so since the light wouldn't wait!)
Dining room is almost done. I've moved the table to the centre and put the chairs around. That helped with the living room since two of them were in here. I've tucked three boxes of painting into a corner and piled boxes of crumpled paper on top of those. The other full box is off to another side. The patio door is accessible again.
The living room is actually looking worse as I move things out. It is large but not perfectly useable space and I'm beginning to feel we may have problems with it. That was hard to tell before since boxes were everywhere. The two biggest boxes in the room are linens awaiting disposal. There are also two boxes of games which don't currently have a home. I'm hoping they'll fit in the storage closet eventually.
The foyer is also unbalanced and as the piles of boxes deplete in that area I'm fully understanding I have a problem there too. Amazingly, I might have to buy some more furniture! Tomorrow we'll move the music cabinet and chest into the area and see if that hopes. Dh's guitars are usually hung from treble clef hangers and have to go away from radiators so they will be hung in the foyer as well, probably over the low music chest. I still haven't managed to get everything into the music holders. It is amazing how much a piano bench holds and I don't have one of those now!
I've printed off the service for tomorrow. Hopefully, dh will be able to find his music and we can practice in the morning (it is too late now in case the sound carries.)

(OKay) what a lot to put into your lives without a conversation and an approval from you first. Don't be guilted into it!
Hmmmm, my caps lock button is staying on even though the caps lock isn't on, obviously. I wonder why.
Anyway, moving on from that.... on the knees / legs subject: my right knee is also giving me fits. The other day I marched up a bunch of steps with DH to a county office, and I thought I might not make it all the way up and back down. Steps hurt. Yesterday my right wrist was aching all the way up to my elbow. It hurt especially when I was peeling potatoes. Today my legs were hardly strong enough for me to make my way past the surf into the ocean water. I hate this getting old business.
Have just been puttering around. Had to open up the sofa bed to remove the mattress pad (thick poly like a feather bed) and sheet because DD had left them on when she folded it back up. I got the ladder in and got some stuff up on the top shelf. Folded laundry. Went to beach with DH for a couple hours.
Did some paperwork this morning and this evening used my new template proposal for the first time. Did I tell you DSonilaw's sister turned my word document into a template and worked on it... it came out nice, though I didn't save the file right the first time... I will figure out how to better use it. At least now I don't have to use the old typewriter.

Harmony: I'm not fond of the getting old business either! At least I figured out tonight where the bruises on my arms are coming from. I keep walking into the dining room, grand entrance door handles (which are for show only.) I think those handles are not long for this world!
Here's a couple of pictures I took from the balcony. They capture the magic of my new place and why all this agony (and those unbelievably dysfunctional bathrooms) are worth it.

DH is watching boxing matches. I've been reading through "Country Living," & have been re-decorating & decluttering. Saw some ideas I keep running across:
Horizontal book stacks topped with something functional or decorative.
Pretty when put together & done right.
Just have a few things to do in the a.m. before Dgrson comes at 1 p.m.
I s2s, shampooed, browsed a catalog, purged it, then browsed the magazine, keeping it, b/c of so many neat ideas. My share it with BFF. She'd like some of the ideas, too.
Time to sign off. Have a good night. It'll be a warm day tomorrow, too.
