TUESDAY'S TENS

Post by DeeClutter »

Can you list ten -at least little- things to accomplish during the day? Let me try:
X1. Make the bed
X2. Take my meds
X3. Breakfast & morning routine
X4. Walk around the circle
X5. Pick up the deck

X6. Do dishes
X7. Sweep the 'vinyl' areas of our RV
8. Pay hospital bill
9. Fill out form from mammogram (may wait on this as I'd like to SEE the results first -Dr. told me it was fine but it's not showing up on my chart)
X10. Enjoy my book :D
Right now it was a little difficult finding 10 things. Hmmmm....does that mean I'm all caught up? Doubt it.

I do find myself much more relaxed -had no idea I might have been as tense as I seem to have been (only gauged by how relaxed I am now) before dbil/dsil arrived. We went out to breakfast yesterday morning, along with dd. Went to a new place south of us so it was more on their way out of town. Were very pleasantly surprised. Great breakfast and good prices, good service. Actually it was right on the route dbil/dsil wanted to leave on. They never arrived here until 3 o'clock on Sunday -was beginning to wonder. But they take the 'scenic' route and it took them over 6 hours to get here from around Cooperstown area. They were leaving by the same route to head to Newfield, NY to see friends of dbil. Then back to FL. DSisil did say that this might well be their last trip up here. She's gotten so she doesn't like to travel at all. More than an hour in the car and she's had it.

Been trying to figure out how to 'unfriend' gd15 on FB. Guess I'll have to have dd show me. Just don't want to have her negative posts in our face each day and if I don't see it I definitely won't feel the need to tell dd anything. She keeps track somewhat but more through her new "Mom". DD called her yesterday as she'd gotten a call from the Polk Co. place where gd has to go for med prescriptions and counseling. They'd called dd to remind her of an 8:30 appointment for gd this morning. As it was, GD & her 'Mom' were on their way to central FL for that apt and for orthodontist appointments for 2 of her daughters. But she also needed dsonil to meet her at a bank today to have another paper notarized for the military. Then they will send it here for dd to get notarized and send back to C. Sure it's going to take a while before dd completely relaxes about the whole situation but it's better for sure!

Dneighbor to our left is putting on a solid roof today -like ours.

Here comes dd back from her shower with dlab, Bailey -later gals!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hi to Lilac, whose porch light I see on. Been missing your posts.

Kathryn, check moderators forum please.

Mother of oldest friend of dd's - the one whose youngest child is severely handicapped - called this morning asking if we could have lunch today before their family's summer schedule gets crowded with some travel. So as soon as I pick dd up we will be heading in their direction.

The meal at the burger joint did a "number" on my weight. The sodium level must have been awful. Today's lunch will be a problem, too, since dd's friend wants ChickFilA, possibly the fast food place with the highest sodium levels ever, lol. I need to go to their website and try to pick a good choice in advance.

Good morning, villagers ~
I spent an unintended few days away from posting. I needed to use limited computer time for researching a project.

I get to stay home today so I'm planning to do a lot of decluttering. I would like to fill the trash and recycle bins.

Dee ~ Rather than "unfriend"ing your dgd15, you might want to switch the toggle that says "following." That way her posts will stop automatically showing up on your page, but you can still check her page when you want, and send her PMs. For example, you might want to post a birthday greeting on her wall, but you wouldn't be able to do that if you "unfriend." If I remember correctly, to stop "following" all you have to do is click on her avatar and that should show you the little boxes for "friends" "following" "message" -- then uncheck the box for "following."

I had to stop "following" an older cousin a couple years ago because almost all of his FB posts are either very political or adult content highly inappropriate to be viewed on a public computer at the library. I like being able to check on him now and then, but don't want that daily -- usually multiple times a day -- blast of sometimes-crazy that I'm not usually in the mood to see. :?

Living room is almost finished except for paperwork (it is my new place for dumping paperwork since there is no longer a SHE counter and table in the kitchen.)

So, to summarize:

First the good news:

Master bedroom, finished
Master bath, finished (I presume, I don't go in there.)
My bath, finished (more accurately, it finished me!)
Living room, finished (except for removing boxes of items to be donated)
Dining room, finished (except for chandelier needing to be mounted, and removing all the packing material)
Kitchen, finished
Laundry room, finished
Office bathroom, finished (except to empty bathtub of boxes and modify toilet seat cover.)

Now the rest of the place:

Office - less than half done
Foyer - three large boxes need to be sorted through and the contents culled so they'll fit on 2 shelves and 3 small drawers
Guest bedroom - needs to have the remainder of my preaching resources unpacked and the boxes in it stored.
Storage room - needs organizing in coordination with guest bedroom.

Yesterday I was ready to give up the wheelchair. Today, not so much. I used an office chair last night so I could sit while working and scoot around the living room while shifting a bookcase and its contents and that worked well. Noted the floors aren't even (could build up a lot of speed when scooting in one direction, and of course that direction was towards the windows!)

My 10 for the day:

1. Send VERY IMPORTANT EMAIL
2. S2S
3. Pay bills
4. Send money to dd for her bikes and to repay her for the car (or at least write the cheque and give it to her this week.)
5. Take bus to the transit office so I can buy a transit pass (yes, I had to buy tickets to get to ride to the transit office to buy my pass!)
6. Lunch at chip wagon
7. Hair cut (and a lot is coming off.)
8. Bus home and pick up groceries on the way - or send dh for the groceries if I can't walk by then.
9. Sort through the piles of paperwork in the living room
10. Finish unpacking my preaching resources to see how much room I have for things in the bookcase by my desk.

Good morning to the village!

Dee, you can also click in the upper right corner of dgd's post where you get a little pull down menu (there's a light arrow there) and click on "I don't want to see this" and I think you'll stay friends but you won't see dgd in you regular feed. I have done so for same reasons as Bookie.

Today's breakfast is two farm scrambled eggs with squash, cherry tomatoes, spinach and garlic, with a sprinkling of mozzarella and basil, and cut up cantaloupe.

Hummmmmmm, 10 things, Dee.

1. Trip to neighboring county seat for copies of deeds and filing court report for dsis
2. Groceries
3. A.m. routine
4. send email with info for Thursday p.m. meeting
5. return at Costco (will go by there when I go to county seat)
6. enjoy the book I've been reading
7. refill meds containers
8. move the treadmill in the bonus room so I can use it (may need ds to help when he gets home)
9. call about dmom's meds refill
10. Straighten up porches - the wind blew around the pillows and chairs yesterday

List of 10 is fairly ambitious. I did take one thing off to change to an easier job.

For right now:
-walk ddogs
-s2s
-make the bed
-start a lol, fold two lol
-clear kitchen counters

Kathryn, you are sounding much more positive these days. I'm glad you are getting settled in.

Now that the bulk of the unpacking has happened, I am feeling a bit more positive. Not sure what will happen when the house sells, though, because there's still a lot there that has to be somewhere. I'm guessing a 10 x 10 storage locker is in my future.

I also slept well last night but the drapes fell down this morning so pressure fit may not be the way to go with rods. Turns out the plaster just gives away under the pressure. I'm beginning to seriously hate plaster walls.

On my list of things being finished, I didn't talk about the 41 paintings that need to be dealt with. As of now, they are tucked, in boxes, in corners of rooms and also taking up a whole closet. Dh and I will have a hanging day in our future. First we had to get the unpacking done so that the furniture was finally arranged.

I have finished #1 on my list (although that doesn't resolve the issue.)

On to dressing and paying bills.

Good morning all! I'm back from tutoring and have just had some plain Greek yogurt w/ blueberries.

Dd18 is doing the last packing; I have to get her to the church by noon. they have meetings all afternoon, and then the families join them for a potluck dinner tonight at 6. They leave for the airport tomorrow at 5 a.m. for a very early flight - thus the overnight together, to insure they all get there on time. I think I'll make a copy of her passport to leave at home before I take her.

Yes, I have done something on fb so that the posts of certain fb friends of mine don't show up in my feed, but I don't know what I did and fb has changed so much since I did that. They are still my fb friends and I assume they have no idea I've blocked them from my feed.

Ten things - I like that!
x 1. tutoring
2. dd18 to the church
3. order cake for church kids camp for Friday's snack
4. make butterscotchies for potluck tonight
5. at least one load of bedding all the way through to put away
6. a.m. routine - this should have been earlier
7. call initiative taking band helper
8. potluck tonight
9. finish emptying suitcase - and put it away
10. email small group re: meeting this Saturday

Changed my clothes. Have emptied top rack of the dw. I'm having cup of tea #2. I'll leave in 20 minutes to take dd18.

It is raining now. bleh.

 Thanks for all the info on FB, unfortunately I had already 'unfriended' gd15. Wonder if I can get it back and do the method(s) you gals suggested. that would be better. I, just like Booksaver, don't want to see her negative or bff or boyfriend posts (usually quite negative) every day. DD did talk to her "Mom" a while ago and guess her appointment with the psychiatrist/counseling service went well. They did put her on time released Aderall and something for sleep. She did say she's "a joy to have around and seems to be adjusting well." Really glad for that. And I truly feel that dd/dsil had her for 'such a time as this' and hopefully now C & R can help her develop into a nice young adult (as well as their own dds.)

Went for a walk and had a 'Charlie horse' almost as soon as I started. But! I persevered!
