Successful dinner tonight. After lunch, dh and I walked over to the store and did the shopping for this evening. I have an 'old lady' grocery cart with four wheels so pushed it like a walker. It worked well for me. I'd have preferred to bike over but our list was too long to fit in the bike baskets and our backpacks are still back at the house.
Then I did a bit more tidying and started prepping dinner. By the time my friend arrived, everything was prepped and dh did the cooking while we chatted. We ate on the balcony and it was lovely - a nice breeze and NO BUGS!
She left at 9 and we were done cleanup by 9:30. The dishwasher is running now and I've elevated my feet. My friend recommended an orthotics shop within walking distance of here. So I shall wander over there in the next few days if things don't improve. Actually, things were better today, in that I didn't really get into pain until part way through the shopping. I was actually walking almost without a limp before then.
I'm hot right now so think I'll sit out on the balcony for a bit before heading in to do my stretches before bed.

Re: Throwback Thursday
Band uniform tasks done tonight after S and R left - I've returned an email to the band director with a question and potential plan to schedule putting together the reserved marching uniforms, in which students will be fitted on Aug. 11, before they head up to Interlochen for camp. I have also put all the concert uniforms in order and emailed the orchestra parent re: bringing them by her house tomorrow afternoon, after church kids camp.
I spent too much time outside the home today. bleh. I was out the door at 8:30 and then home from kids camp at 1. Out again at 1:45 to the gas station and the groc. store and then home again from 2:35 - 2:45, giving me 10 minutes to unload groc. and mapquest address for haircut. I stopped by the post office en route home, and got home for good finally at 5:15. S and R showed up for dinner at 6:30. That was 55 minutes at home between 8:30 and 5:15. . . Dh once again reminded me this evening that he had told me not to do the kids camp.
Tomorrow will also be busy but should be better - kids camp in the morning again, dropping off tags, taking dd16 to drumline practice at a friend's house, tutoring, picking up dd16 again, and then going out with dh - b/c tomorrow is my birthday.

Re: Throwback Thursday
Thank you Kathryn and other mods for taking such good care of this village! I trust that you will fearlessly lead us all safely to our new home. I think I might try to document some of my posts, kind of like a diary. I wonder if gkids would be interested? LOL! What a funny thought right now!

Re: Throwback Thursday
Thank you, Administrators, & Moderators, for all your work.
I believe we'll love our new home, too.
Dgs & DH get firewood in the a.m.- if it's not raining. It's supposed to be a showery a.m.
If it dries out in the afternoon, they can mow on the riding lawnmower.
I plan on doing a basket full of LOL, so Dgs goes home with clean clothes.
Is there such a thing as a "Laundry Conga"?
It was good to get out today & stretch my legs, walking, at the store.
We got some good foods.
The Village sounds "Quiet" this evening. I'll go ahead & say goodnight. I got my Thursday desk calendar to the right page, but my index card, in my small office, for today, still says "Way to Go Wednesday"! OOPS!
I forgot!
BFN.
Everyone have a great night.
