Ramblin, I hope you feel better soon. Keep up with supplements. Extra rest.

LadyM, here we drank some lemonade, thinking of your mention of it. I hope everyone at your house starts feeling better and better.

The new DVDs came and I was a bit surprised to see the first one is so extensive - a 30 min workout and two 20 minute workouts. I "read" the 30 minute and then did the first 20-minute one today. Then I did the Basic plus. So that's about 35 minutes of exercise so far this week, plus study.

Interesting to hear Teresa T talk about having morning back pain, too. Even though she is amazingly fit, she is same age as me. So it was kind of affirming to hear that she deals with this and tries to be thoughtful about how she moves in the morning. She says she can do this slowest floor workout while still in her pajamas in the morning, so that was encouraging. Maybe, maybe I would think about trying it. The initial objection would be, how do I get down onto the floor?

Reluctantly will add a report of long walking at the mall today as some extra activity. Oh, how I hate long walks on concrete. That's the worst. Along with the joy of shopping - not.

:? I snacked too much last night. :?
I don't know why I try. Oh, my! :!:
At times, it's such a fight!
I just need to <SIGH>! :!:

Today, I'll try my best,
to eat a lot more healthy,
although I've had little rest,
but striving makes me wealthy.

I do so well, day after day.
I move a lot and lose weight.
I love it when dieting is like play.
Now, DH, is losing weight! My mate!

I can't be outdone by him.
I'll keep my goals flying high.
Being in the light's better than the dim.
He and I can work together, by and by.

So, I'm not alone, in this game.
I have a partner and you, here, too.
I know I won't get fame,
but at goal weight, I'll feel better- TRUE! :!: :D :D

Nice FF...

Had a great experience today...need to buy some clothes for my upcoming trips..my pants and shorts are so big on me now I can pull them off without unzipping them....Didn't want to be singing ...Pant's on the ground...while in the airport or at home. Could just imagine what might happen when I went to put my luggage in the overhead compartment on the plane. Jeepers don't want to even think about that...

Anyway I went to Stein mart thinking I might be able to find a new top or two...also was looking for a very causal dress to take with me. Knew that size Large might be too big, but I never expected to need a size Small for some of the tops. Course they are not tight fitting, but the mediums just hung on me. Ended up with three new tops, two dresses and two new bras...boy did I need those, but I hate to shop for them.

Nice thing about what I bought is most are made from that new sort of sheer knit material which means they wont take up much room to pack...I was so happy looking in the mirror and seeing my reflection....its been a very long time since that happened and as silly as it seems I did a bit of a jig seeing myself for the first time.

I haven't been on the scale in a while...checking my weight was beginning to control me....I am not where I want to be, but I AM 18 lbs lighter than when I started on April the first. I still have about 12 more lbs to go...I have a closet full of clothes that I love and are waiting for me...most are my professional clothes...pant suits, casual dresses and such that I loved to wear when teaching. Since I've decided to do more subbing in the high school this year I really want to be able to look more professional in the classroom. Regarless of what people think or say, its been my experience that kids tend to treat you the way you dress, so thats one of the reasons I have made this my goal.

Here's something else that is interesting...since getting these "shots" which helps to speed up my metabolism, stablize my insulin and help my immune systems....I have been able to focus more and the female parts of my body are working far better than they have in years. Sweetie said to me the other day...I don't know whats in those shots, but you have been less irratable, more pleasant to be around and you're smiling more....whatever you do, don't stop doing what you're doing...I like it... hey, that's a pretty good endorsement.

Funny thing ...when I went to get my shot, the gal who gives it to me and I began talking about what was exactly in it...she gets the same one as well. Before I even had a chance to say any thing she told me her husband had said she was less grumpy to be around and her periods which have never been regular finally are. She is taking night classes and said she too is finding it much easier to concentrate.

I think you've been hearing me say that my house is really undercontroll...much to my amazement. And I asked Sweetie about it this morning. He said he noticed that I wasn't as tired as before and it looked to him like I felt like doing more.

I won't be able to talk to Abby untill after I came back from my trip...She thought considering the problems I had last year, that this shot would be of great help. I trust her like no other so that's why I agreed to try it....I keep telling Sweetie its not like I am feeling extra pumped up or anything...in fact I really don't feel any thing different physically, but I am able to focus more on what I want to do and seem to be able to do it...I'll let you know what I find out when I talk to her.

In the meantime I'm staying on my plan...which I think may play a big part in how I am feeling....and keep on keeping on, cause its working and I am feeling so much better what ever is causing it....No sugar, no flour, no starch...I do cheat every once in a while...very little dairy, no diet soda, no artificial sugar of any kind..and very, very little red meat. Just fresh fruit,,,1/2 grapefruit or cup of strawberrries in the mornings and an apple in the afternoon, plenty of fresh veggies...I steam most of mine unless I'm eating a salad...and chix or fish for lunch and dinner. I have either a salad for lunch with my protein and veggies for dinner with my protien, or I reverse the salad and veggies. Oh and very little oils....I do need some because my skin is so dry and I think everyone should have some fat every day...so I make sure I do. Thats the plan...

BTW...

After going back over what I just wrote it occured to me that I am eating the exact same way as I did as a kid....remember I had a thyroid problem when I was small. The only difference is I did eat artificial sugar because my mom would make me sugarless jello.

She was the one who started me on using lettuce as bread in my sandwiches...and she always made breakfast for us...never boxed cereal, only oatmeal or cream of rice, and we always had either fresh squeezed oj or grapefruit for our breakfast. My mom worked a full time job as well, but we always had a hot meal before we left for school. She always put a half of a marachina cherry in the middle of our grapefruit and when I asked her about that the other day, my mom told me thats what her grandmother used to do for her.

So looking back over what I am now eating it looks like I've come full circle.....what was good for me then is good for me now

You are doing so well, RR! I love reading about your journey; 18 pounds is major!

I was down .8 pounds at WW last night, despite eating so much over the 4th of July long weekend. I'd like to say it was because I was soooo good, but I suspect that holding off on chugging water yesterday was the determining factor. I should have lost the week before when I was even, and the week before that when I was only down .2, so I guess I was due.

Thanks, Ramblin, although those were not time-consuming workouts. I will be at 2 hours for the week by the end of this day I believe. I've worked on Total today but am called away on errands soon, so will finish that to end when I get home. Anytime I have to spend more than 20 mins away from a workout, I go back through the primary stretch to get ready, so that actually adds time. If I get to any tomorrow, that will be a good solid week.

Interested in what she says about your shots. Your losses - fun to plan to spring that on family who don't know it yet.

Twins', when you think about it it's remarkable you lost through the holiday doin's. Good job.

Nancy, that is so surprising to me that you will hit triple digits. Drink water!

Ivy, yes we're interested in these men of ours and their health hopes, too.
