Have a Blast, Sunday

I'm off to watch a building be blown up!

What kind of a blast are you having today?

I'm so terribly excited about this, I had trouble sleeping. Got up 4 minutes before my 5:30 alarm.

We leave in a few minutes, biking over (it is just over 3 miles to the viewing area) and the blast is at 7. I hope to be back for 7:30 but that depends on the crowds. S2s and then off to church at 9.

Dd and dsil will be over this afternoon for dinner. Ds is off to watch the World Cup Final with dfs and his wife so we'll have dinner at the latest it can be and still get dsil home for bed by 9:30 (he works 6-2 or 7 - 3 depending on the buses and how late he can sleep.)

Great bike ride, fun to watch the building come down. There's a video of it here:

Now to go and eat breakfast.

I was going to shower last night so I wouldn't have to do my hair this morning. It rained so I got soaked and am very glad I didn't shower last night! Felt great to be in the shower after the ride.

Foot is very sore though. I though bike was supposed to help.

Kathryn - That is fascinating how they can safely bring down such a large structure. Glad you were able to see it IRL

I've done treadmill, Bible Study, watered garden and picked peppers, fed/watered furkids, brushed furkids, took picture of sunrise, S2S including washing hair, hung LOL out and caught up on FB. I'm not really following my schedule since it is Sunday, but just going along at a relaxed pace.

Our analog clock in the living room has stopped keeping correct time. I've put new batteries in it but it just can't keep up. After a couple days of doing without the clock, we decided it was something we enjoyed having so I found a replacement on Amazon and ordered it this morning. For just $5 more it was available with radio-controlled so the setting is modified each day to that of the atomic clock, accurate to one second per million years. I'm showing my age when I think just a few years ago this feature would have cost an arm/leg....now it cost less than a good hamburger. Of course, a few years ago a good hamburger cost a fraction of what it does now.....but that is a thought for another day. :D

...... wondering what everyone else is doing today

Church good this morning. I had plenty of children church workers so I was able to attend "normal" church. Preacher was motivated to have a shorter message than normal. He said sitting in 102 degrees doesn't make us holy.

Lunch was at normal Sunday place. I ordered a mexican dinner. I ate about 1/2 of it and decided that was enough. LO finished his meal with a piece of pie sent to our table by the "pie guy".

Received another call from someone serious about buying MPB. He asked some very knowledgeable questions that let me know he understands the business and knows what it takes to run one successfully. He is going to talk it over with his wife because it will be such a big lifestyle change for them.

Next up -
** Nap
** Read
** watch the broken clock and contemplate nothing. :)

Morning ya'll...

I've been up for quite a while...did all my morning routines and then spent time gathering my clothes for my trip. Tried everything on and made sure everything would mix and match. I ended up taking 3 pairs of shorts, 1 skort, 1 dress and 8 tops...plus a nighty, swimsuit, hat, sweater, purse...which I pack with loose stuff...2 pair of shoes, undies, my make up, hair dryer, flat iron and a few small items.

Plus I have a bag that goes under my seat...it has my picture albums, meds, and a lot of this and that. Neither bag is overflowing. I have to make sure my bag which is 22" long, including the wheels, 14" wide and the most important part...9" deep. I'm flying United and if your bag doesn't fit into their luggage gauge before you board the plane, they will charge you for it and not allow you to use it as an overhead bag.

Aside from the cost, I need my bag to fit in the overhead bin because I only have one hour from the time the plane lands till the time my train for home leaves. During that hour I need to use the restroom, take a airport train shuttle
to the train station and then buy my ticket. Its a long haul, but do-able. If I miss the train, the next one will be 20 mins later. However the first train is an express and only takes me 45 mins to reach my home station. The later train is a local and will take 75 mins to travel to the same station.

After I finish this break I plan to work on my office...it needs my attention for sure. Then I want to straighten up the rest of the house. I've already put all my house plants in one area so it won't take Sweetie a long time to water them for me. We ended up stay home last night for dinner, so we're going out tonight. That works for me because then I don't have to worry about it.

I have several emails I need to return. Several people are taking time out of their schedules to help me with my side trip to the cemeteries and churches. i so appreciate their help as it will make everything easier with my mom.

Just a few more "thisis and thats" and I'll be well on my way. I have to run a few errands tomorrow morning, but one is to get my tooties done, then I'll be really done..

Waving to ya'll....wanna finish this and watch the game. Cya'll later.

 Thanks for the blast link and opener, Kathryn! :D :!: :P

Am not feeling 100% today. But contacted Dr.'s M. A.'s for tomorrow, to phone in a prescription renewal and I renewed prescriptions on the phone. DH went to the store, for a few items, I helped him put them away, but DH washed the toilets, so that's NICE! :D I've written a little old lady in her 80's who describes herself as "spry" and "sharp". ;) She'll be fun, I'm sure, from her description. I have 1 letter to go and then....

A GET WELL CARD GOES TO DD WHO HAS PNEUMONIA and BRONCHIAL ASTHMA! She called at 10:30 p.m., so sick. Been home from Tuesday afternoon, urgent care's visit until Sat. night, was going stir-crazy, is NOT a "home-body" like me. :( She was going to rest more, keep taking her meds and inhalers and go to work Monday. Why? Her apt. is on the 2nd floor, is so hot, she can't breathe when it's hot like that and at work there is A/C and a Deli nearby for lunch. She's quit smoking. This happened to me, when I got bronchial asthma in my 40's, so I quit, too. :!: I feel for her because she commutes, works, has a son she's raising, and the hotter temps outside don't make it easy either. I hope she gets well soon. :)

I set my dawn simulator for 7 a.m., to "dawn" at 6:45 a.m., but my dawn simulator's about 8 minutes fast, too. DH and his Dbuddy get wood at 8 a.m. tomorrow because of the high temps, so they can quit early. They need to cool off, shower again and veg out. The 9 cords will be in by August. Yeah! :P :!: When Dgs-10.75 comes in August, he'll help Grandpa do yard work. I'll find little jobs around the house, for him to help me with. OR we can do crafts. Because I've got glues, background papers, card stock, markers, rubber stamps, etc... So we'll have fun. He's bringing his phone, his Gameboy and his Tablet, too. He'll have fun here. He'd planned all winter to NOT come, so this is a surprise to us. But a pleasant one. ♥

Everyone, have a Blast, Sunday, today! :!: :D

Wow, Kathryn, you had a great view of the imploding building. I also saw on tv this morning a bridge imploding in Cleveland.

It is quiet here in Sunny-land today. Ds#2 called to say they won't be down this afternoon. I'm taking this opportunity to plan out this next week. This will also give me time to pull out my 3 x 5s and get the dates in order again as well as put the Focus Cards in order. After two + weeks out of the box I need to get back to routines.

I'm am finally cuop. Comments OMM from the last few days:
*** RRose...I like how you are super organized getting ready for your trip. You make it sound so easy!
*** BookSaver...I'm glad your dmom is doing well and getting along in rehab.
*** B'Sweet....So sorry to hear about losing your clinic kitty. I'm sure you will miss her. Also...sorry that your dgs's bike was stolen. Unfortunately that happened to my dgd19 several years ago - right off the front porch!
*** Lucy...Re: ddil's earrings: my one ddil 37 y.o. has at least 3 or 4 ear piercings; although I've never seen her with the bar you mentioned.
*** Dee...The Peter Pan B'day party for dgson sounded so cute.
*** Harmony...I hope things business wise smooth out for you. We saw quite a few high priced homes near our former area in Pgh. The house we grew up in and yard is looking really nice.
*** Harriet...My dh always tells me that his dmom always ate the chicken neck because she liked it ----- I always wondered how much?? !
*** Nancy...I'm glad you found you like kayaking.
*** Ivy...It's good to hear your dson and family will be moving closer to you.

.......That's all I can remember right now. So I'll say hello to everyone, hope you're having a nice afternoon. I think I'll start early on tomorrow's scheduled Desk Day.

A very quiet day in the village today.....I am not feeling 100%. I think that I probably hurried up my breakfast too much, drank too much water on top of it and took vitamins (which sometimes upset my tummy), then drank a glass of wine at the market today, and got way way too hot at the market. Dh and I got home and I napped some but have a headache going. I am feeling like eating, so I'm having some crackers and hummus and maybe take something for my head once I have more on my tummy.

At the market I got goat cheese, flowers and a wooden tray, and dh and I ordered a coffee table for our GR room. (On Friday I had done a mock up of the size, and we think it will be perfect!) We also bought a new couch and a chair yesterday for the GR room - I don't know what's gotten into DH but when he feels this way I feel like I have to jump on it - he's often very indecisive about major purchases.

Yesterday we also went to the YMCA to workout - I am a little sore, but a good kind of sore.

Yesterday I felt like a ping pong ball going back and forth. Out to take dMacs to PT, then back home for about 30 minutes. Back out to YMCA to workout, then back home again to s2s. Then back out again to furniture store. Was so happy to finally get back home around 5 p.m. and have some down time.

I am going to try to do a few things and see how I feel. The house is a mess from letting things go.

-straighten up GR room
-clear kitchen counters
-empty dishwasher

That's a start.
