More diversion on a divergent day... ...

HRH called and accuses me of helping write today's installment of Weird Al's 8 days of song parodies. Today's is called "Word Crimes" and it's on YouTube already, as "Weird Al" Yankovic - Word Crimes. I can't possibly link to it on the grounds that it might incriminate me (besides, I am NOT THAT BAD - just with my own children, that's all. I don't force my grammatical beliefs on others! ). I predict upper-grade English teachers will be showing this one in class, however, pointing and jumping up and down... ... ("there!..there!... do you SEE that?)

Right now, I'm still just yawning and dragging around... I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night. No reason, actually felt very happy -- ddil's birthday "party" (just us, plus dbil and dmom) went very well. But as we were settling down for sleep, dh mentioned that he missed his parents so much at times like this... and I know what he means... but I think it is so much harder for him, having NO parents, you know. I still have dmom around to drive me crazy, LOL. Knowing he's now The Oldest in his immediate family is kinda a sad realization for him.
But on the good side, dbil, who had forgotten totally the invite, until I called him at time to eat, seemed to enjoy himself very much, and we were just all so relieved that dmom felt like coming out.

She has her gastrointernist (?) appt today... hoping she gets some good news. (((Kathryn))) -- I can relate to your anxiety about the ride... dmom really went rushing in asking "where is the bathroom" when I took her for her test.

I need to schedule my doctor's check-up and mammogram... but I just feel PARALYZED re: the mammogram. I haven't had one in five years, and I know I should, but the fear of a false positive scares me to death... and of course, especially in light of dcousin's bout w/pancreatic cancer over the last year, I'm even more terrified of bad news. I know that is about the most stupid statement I could make... but y'all know how I am.

So glad y'all seemed to share my opinion re: the piercing. smh

DS is coming to run/walk with us in about 30 minutes... and then we are going to vote. There is very little of any importance on our run-off ballot, (state offices and we don't really know enough about any of the people to form much opinion) but I don't think dh or I have ever missed an election, so we will do our civic duty.

Tonight we will go to local nursing home and ds/ddil/dh will be singing.

I think I will try to repot some plants while waiting for dh to be ready to walk.

Oy, that was a great workout! I did 15 minutes on the treadmill, then crunches and upper body workout. Will be achy in a good way, I do believe. I went to Sonic for an unsweetened tea cut with 1/3 lemonade - so good and I love the ice pellets. Also got to bank and vet office, and at dry cleaner the comforter wasn't ready until later this afternoon, so I must go back later. I probably should get hamburger buns while I'm out also - we use those little Arnolds sandwich thin things but I guess we should give our guests a choice?

Now, I'm down to the final stash and dash. I will cool down a bit before s2s, tho.
-Bring in garbage can
-clear stuff on the steps that needs to be put away or go upstairs
-clear kitchen table
-fold load of laundry in dryer, reboot dd's sweatshirt over to dryer (last bit of laundry for now....)

Home from library program. I am ready to take a break. I so very much appreciate the effort our librarian puts into the children summer program each week. She does an outstanding job. Today I found myself wondering what the librarian thought the outcome would be to give a large group (100?) of 3 year olds to 6 year olds paint brushes and paint that does NOT wash out of clothes. It was no problem for us because LO had dressed himself this morning and had put a old shirt on. I started to make him go change into something better but decided to let it go. Now I'm glad I did because the shirt is ruined.

LO is down for a nap and I'm drinking a much needed cup of coffee.

Next up -
** process cantaloupes
** LOL hung up to dry (dryer quit working a few days ago)
** call hospital to pay DH cat scan bill by phone. Today is last day to get 20% discount for paying in full.

I am back to the land of the living!

Aside from the IV, it took 4 tries and the anesthesiologist was the one who succeeded, all went great. No polyps so 5 years until my next test. No gas pain this time so we had a sandwich and are now on our way to the house, 45 minutes from the hospital.

I emailed the good news to the kids and see things have stabilized here so all is good.

I did work on the plants for a bit... two of the three are probably waaay past saving, but I repotted them, added some small palm plants to a rubber plant & put in larger container -- both are pretty sad looking right now. I put the small schefflera in a larger pot. It is the only one that looks like anything at all, so I hope I can keep it alive. I have a large schefflera that is just about gone. Mostly just stalks right now. I think I'm going to cut it and the rubber plant all down low and see what that does to them -- daunt suggested that one time. I've had the large one for almost 29 years -- it was a housewarming gift from a very dfriend... but it's definitely suffering these days. Also brought the ivy plant in, put it in a larger pot. Maybe being outdoors will help the others to revive a little.

Kathryn, from your post this morning, I was thinking about you becoming one of the every-year folks in case dr wanted to recheck often. So glad you had this good news today and they don't want to see you for 5!

Whoops, LadyM, that could be a real problem for some parents, couldn't it! Just everybody doesn't have lots of changes of clothes for their children.

Twins' Mom, HRH loves crushed ice from drive-in places like Sonic (and here, "Cookout" chain) so much that he bought a crushed-ice maker. (shaver?) I can't find a name brand on it... ...

lucylee, I know how your dh feels.

mammogram - it occurs to me to call my insurance co and frankly ask if the nagging they feel required to do is satisfied in any way by a thermogram. I know dr doesn't think so, but maybe by now ins cos have moved into the 21st Century. Otherwise, I might as well just make a mammography appt.

Overslept by two hours but it was cool and cloudy so I could still walk the dog

Lost a long post yesterday when the computer rebooted while I was posting. Then I had to leave before it had finished. Spent the day in Prescow with Dr. And then bone scan. Don't know why I evepaper products for Kidz Weekn did the bone scan as i can't take the meds anyway.

Also picked up paper products for Kidz Week at church. We are hosting a Phoenix church plus our kids (with adults about 50 total). They're going to be working in Yarnell tfor more cleanup after the fire. Some will work in the park on landscaping, some at the memorial, and some in the slide area. Since the fire wehave had some slides when it rains. Anyway we are feeding them 3 meals a dY for8 days. Later our kids will go with them to Mexico to build a house.

I am still tired from yesterdwbut feeling better after an early afternoon nap. So I'd better get
moving and get something done.

ToddlerN is here, now dgd and her are having snack time. I have gathered 13 eggs broke one but was able to salvage it for the cookie dough we made this morning.

I have decluttered the to big coffee cups. Glad that is done! I have loaded those in the car trunk.
