LO & I met DH in local town for lunch. The road in front of our home is being torn up as part of the process of being repaired. We have to drive a couple extra miles to get around the road construction. Short term pain (extra driving) for long term gain (smooth road).

The big city pediatric urologist called with LO appointment. It is on his birthday! It is going to be a "turn lemon into lemonade" type of day! I don't expect they will do anything at this appointment other than confirm Pediatrician diagnosis and maybe schedule surgery.

DDIL called with good news about DGS7 (almost) birthday party. She was able to moved it from Friday to Saturday. I was agonizing over LO missing school or the party. Now it is a non-issue.

DDIL is excited about starting to teach again. She will be teaching 7th grade math at online school. Technology is changing (enlarging?) traditional education fast!

Kathryn, swimming sounds wonderful. So cooling. I wish we had one nearby to use.

I've been awol. Just not keeping up with anything presently. Though yesterday I did get all but one of the bills current. Still need to look at that one.

Get together pot luck with small group Sunday eve was nice, but it wore me out and I've been 2 days getting back on track.

There's always something going on here, customers coming and going, calling, problems, things to straighten out, on and on. Keeping a nice house is sure on the back burner these days.

I was cuop and just getting ready to post when connection was interrupted an hour or so ago. I was looking for your email, Kathryn, when it came back up. I'm glad you were able to fix it quickly!

It is 87* here, so hot that even Minnie doesn't want to be outside. Harriet, sorry you lost a hen in a mysterious way, hope you are able to figure out the cause. Speaking of outside, we have to be extremely careful when opening the back door to let ddogs out or in. Somehow a colony of honeybees has started a hive in the wall right by the door. They found their way in through a tiny hole near the door frame. We have used almost four cans of spray. They are very quiet until the door opens or bangs shut hard and they don't come after us even when flying around. I just don't want to take a chance of the dogs getting stung. We're trying to figure out a way to stop them without having to call "The Man"!

Nancy, you mentioned the Weather Channel cutting out. Someone there must be tripping on the cord, because it's happening here, too!

It was nice to see Lilac posting. I'm sorry for all the worries in your & dh's dfamilies. I think the MH would be nice to have for get-away-weekends.

I haven't posted in a few days, but have tried to keep cuop. I was responding, evidently out loud, one time when dh came to the door and asked who I was talking to! I have been working on dgson12's quilt this week and have finished two more sets of blocks. Have also had to do some ripping as the print pattern was directional and the sashing on the finished block would not match the other blocks. I guess I am being picky about it, the overall look would be right, but the seams would not look the same as other blocks. I also managed to get a little yard work done early in the morning when it's cooler. I will soon have to concentrate more on the house upkeep than just the basic 3Ds.

Lunch break is done, so I'll get back to work. Wishing all a wonderful afternoon! Have fun at the pool, Kathryn & Ken.

Thunderstorms are starting here.

So glad to see the site back up!

Today was floor cleaning day for me, swept and mopped kitchen. Did laundry for Dbrother. Made lunch. I'm slowly getting back to a schedule here.

Giving my shoulder/arm a break this week. It was getting to hurt quite a bit so stopped the exercises for a week.

Work day for me. going to read for a bit and then go to work.

It is 91* here today atm according to the weather app. That I have on my tablet.

Called about getting my p.m. insulin when I am at the dr. Office.

Sprint is updating as is the other phone carrier glad our cable provider is not effected so far with these. I read about fiber optic cable being cut it was informative. This is typically the time of yr. Updates happen before school is back in session. School dist. Is getting new phone lines too and will be out of service 2 to 3 days here this week.

Speaking of school dgson is in summer school.
Dgd has left. My tummy troubles have eased up.

.....another Great Grandchild. I suspected it but now it is confirmed.

DGS19 just posted it on FB about his 2nd baby.

Until the shock wears off, I will be going by the old saying......If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything.

I won't say anything either, LM, except that you don't look old enough to be a grandma, let alone a great-grandma!

Back from not drowning. I set 10 minutes of treading water as my absolute minimum and did 20 without touching bottom, then 10 minutes of wandering around the pool on foot, to practice walking without a limp. My left leg doesn't remember how to move properly anymore after about 2 months of limping but in the water I can approach 'normal' motion for it so might help the muscles remember what they are to do.

I actually enjoyed my time in the water. I hated every other moment of it. It was the over 50 swim which was nice and quiet but kids were leaving as I arrived and arriving as I left and the community centre was overrun with noise from summer camps so it wasn't really pleasant.

I'm having some veggies as a snack and then I'll start supper. Simple chicken pieces with homemade shake&bake.

Good Afternoon, Ladies!

I've been off the Internet because I've been busy walking, doing LOL and had lunch. Then DD called on her cell, so I cleaned up my office, tidied, rearranged things and dusted while talking to her. I still have some things to do yet, but the major portions are done, looking good, and that makes me happy.

I'm off to read 2 letters I've received today. They came in 1.5 hours ago, but haven't had time to really sit down to absorb what they've written.

T-storms are in the forecast. It's been pouring rain on and off all night and day. So the guys didn't get firewood today. It was so nice to sleep in until 7:45 a.m.

My "Loopy Things & Other Things" has been delayed in shipping. So I won't get them this week. I'll work on other projects, other than the weaving ones, until they find them to ship them. I can possibly find them at Joann's, too, I suppose, if I call to ask. But since I've ordered 2 pkgs. already, I'll sit tight and wait. They're optional gifts to give in Dec. to the 3 youngest grands, so it's not mandatory I get them immediately.

I dumped the trash, DH did 3 toilets and empties the DW. He put the recycle bins/garbage can to the curb, since Thurs. is pick-up day. I wrote a dear friend a letter in reply to hers. I put all the laundry away and have tidied our bed better, been picking things up, so everything's orderly.

I didn't realize the boards were down temporarily today. I didn't get on-line until about 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. I was able to "survive" without it, so that was good to know. When a dgs is here, I don't want to be on-line a whole lot anyway.

Tomorrow, DH returns my size large rain hooded jacket to Costco, for a size XL. XL has been too large lately, but this jacket must run small. It's dark charcoal grey to black. Very nice repellent fabric, nice zipper, pockets, style, etc... ♥ He said he had such a terrible time finding size Large there because they were almost all XL, so finding my size won't be a problem.

I re-did my index cards folder last night and I made a BWP, for me, since DH's is totally different than mine. He's spontaneous, whereas I like to plan things out. It's nice to have it re-written and done. It's like a cross between the SHE card system and FlyLady's Control Journal system.

LadyM, dgs is certainly on the receiving end of some of life's most attention-getting lessons. I hope his maturity blossoms with the challenges. Pregnancies can surprise even the most calm and settled parents, and we probably all know stories about it from our families and friends. My dd34, married 12(?) years now, laughingly tells about the day when she called out, "Um, (dsil)? Um... you're not going to believe this," and their 4th was on the way. And they've taken teasing. Like, "Haven't you guys figured out what causes this yet?" I realize dgs19 is very young. You never know - maybe these will be their amusing good-old-days family stories someday, when they are old and gray and still together and taking care of each other well.

Yes, I walked the mall with two teenaged girls. Ugh.

The girls are back at VBS. They are really enjoying it. I'm glad there is a church around anywhere still trying to have VBS for teens. That had almost gone by the wayside in recent years. Theirs is a rather large congregation, so I guess there is more funding for programming.

In keeping with our theory that somebody here knows something about nearly everything, I have posted my predatory wildlife identification research in Outdoor Spaces forum.

Nodding head, OH I WISH! However, it isn't quite that way. DGS19 first child lives with her Mom who has returned to live with her husband. DGS19 second child isn't born yet but the mother and DGS19 are no longer living together. Both of these young women also have other children. I was 20 years old once.....with 2 children. I do understand the challenges of raising children when your still a "child" yourself. I understand the sacrifices and opportunities that are no longer an option when you have children so young....if one is willing & able to grow up fast. I can only pray that DGS19 doesn't regret the decisions he is making.

I took a nap with LO this afternoon and woke up feeling blah with my runny nose & stuffy head. I decided to stay home from church tonight.
