HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LISA B & DH!

Mid-morning coffee break time....just finishing my second cup. I would really miss coming here to our friendly Village to visit with all you wonderful ladies!

We've had showers here this morning with rumbling all around, looks like it is clearing a little now - temp is only 83*, (78* inside).

I started weekly routine yesterday with two lol, my clothes and sheets, pillowcases and towels; all folded ready to put away. Sweeping and mopping will be done today.

Dh had his annual visit with gastro-dr. yesterday; a good visit, next appointment 1 year, no tests for 2 1/2 yrs. No news is good news and I'm grateful for that. Dr. told dh that his other drs. have been sending reports of visits to them, keeping everyone informed.

**Kathryn, I love the 1812 Overture. One time we went to a concert at the Washington Monument in D.C. and they used the live cannons. It's all very impressive.
**LadyM, you have been a consistent positive influence in your dgs19's life and now, hopefully, those positive threads are working their way to the surface to help guide him in the right direction! Best wishes!

Good morning, villagers ~
I have been answering several Emails this morning. Wrote a long letter to a friend. Waiting on info from the in-laws about plans for tomorrow.

After lunch I will run some more errands. Still need to buy the bridal shower gift since I had to spend well over 2 hours at WM yesterday trying to get my Rx.

Skippable rant:
I am very frustrated right now with my doctor and her office. Yesterday was the last straw. A long list of jumping through hoops just trying to get a simple refill for a thyroid prescription which I've been taking for several years. The doctor's office had had since Monday to send the order to the pharmacy but of course they didn't get around to it. Among other things like lots of phone tag lasting over 2 weeks, and waiting in several lines yesterday -- because of my doctor, not the pharmacy's fault -- the doctor wasted a lot of time on the phone yesterday complaining to a clerk in the pharmacy who was only trying to confirm the order. The doctor's complaint was that I don't go to her office often enough. So now I want to know (1) Why is it a bad thing that I haven't been sick enough to go to the doctor other than for regular physical exams, and (2) Why is a doctor telling a total stranger on the phone my personal business?!

DH's job is currently changing insurance companies. I am only waiting on the new insurance cards, and then I will be making the switch to another doctor.

It is raining and I am tired. I'm going to put a load of towels in the washer, and try to take a short nap while the washer does all the work.

Editing to add: 1 good thing came from all the waiting yesterday, I was able to do a lot of walking around the store. At least I got some exercise.

My washer dinged just as I signed in. It's sheets, DH will help me make the bed later, so it's not "urgent" they be dried immediately. Will do Dgs-14 laundry after they return from the woods.

Emailed Dson to see if they felt the 3 a.m. 2.8 magnitude earthquake in Duval. They said people around there, in Bothell, etc... could feel it. It was .85 feet below the surface. We live in earthquake country.

Booksaver, I'd RANT, TOO, if I were you! That sounds rather nutty on the Dr.'s part.

I did some stretches and yoga moves. I'm stiff this a.m. and don't know why, except perhaps it's just osteo acting up. Was so active yesterday; did I over do it?

Waving good morning to all of my village friends...

I was up early and did my usual morning routines...now I must venture out while it is still sort of cool for an AZ summer. Yesterday we broke a record for the day...a sizzlin' 114*

Don't know why I bothered to try and style my hair after my shower....I ended up putting it in a twist anyway. Too hot to let it hang down.

I'm sliding into a cool cotton summer shift and a pair of sandals. Need to stop at 3 places...one to pick up my substitue badge, then to my health store, and finally to the library. Driving a huge circle route. At least the library, which is my last stop and will be later in the day has covered parking saving me from burning my hinnie from anything hot. I use a sun shield, but still the temps will climb to almost 200* inside the car. Oh the joys of living in the desert.

Gotta go, its getting really hot out there, cya'll later when I get back. Think I'll put my chicken out in the sun to cook... just kidding of course, but who knows it may become a new way to cook and it would be eco-friendly.

Hi everyone! Normally, I am at knit/crochet group right now, but with the chaos of the car and now a kitten needing a vet trip, I am not. When I realized the kitten would need to be on the road, I made arrangements with a good friend to borrow her extra car last night. There is no lunch with friends today, which is just as well. With the vet schedule, I would not have made it anyway. Today, I need to take and send pictures of the other kittens. Last night, I finished a blanket square. All it needs is to be put away!

This morning, I finished my investment analysis and got a surprise. I included all the accounts with retirement funds, even the one that gets forgotten because it has less than 3% of the total. It is quietly outperforming the others. Puts a whole new spin on things. I have two main funds, the forgotten fund, and the one from my previous employer. Of course, the money manager of one of the main funds has been encouraging me to move the PE funds to his, and that spurred the analysis. I had thought I would transfer the FF as well, just to consolidate. I don't think so anymore!!! I will move PE->FF, do a better job of monitoring for a while, and see if I want to make any more changes.

I am off to do some job search stuff. I can't decide if I want to examine some more companies (boring, but potentially most useful) or do some online training (more fun, but less potential). Perhaps a little of each?

Booksaver I hear you! [Following is skippable.] Going through something similar here to get my thyroid meds. Also. I think it is O. (Does not) care IMO, new reg. Has everyone pulling their hairout. They are saying I have not been in for a while "excuse" me NOT I was just in there in Feb.! Some reg. somewhere has decided you have to be in more often to get meds. Hate how that makes me seem like I am somehow not a perfect person according to some stupid rule some where. Sigh. Thanks for listening.

I have heard that the pool across the street is going to be dealt with & was told with pool co. is coming to replace the liner. Lawn care co. Has hauled off stuff 3x to dump loads of weeds and yd. Sale left overs. Now they are cleaning.

I have vacuumed, bed is made. ToddlerN has not arrived yet but let me know they will be in a bit.

I was so sick through the night - obviously the Arby's meal I'd had for lunch. A water main had broken 4 days ago and that Arby's had not been open for 3 days, and I came for the first mealtime, then, that they would have served. HRH says he would have warned me - but of course we didn't know - because a restaurant shut-down without running water is a red flag for cleanliness problems. Not that any meat or food item was not properly refrigerated, but that all the usual end-of-day cleaning requiring water would have had to be done in "plan B" ways. Thankfully, the girls wanted a different meal along the way, or there would have been 3 of us needing the 2 bathrooms. As it was, they blissfully slept through my unhappiness.

BookSaver, I'm so sorry - wow, that is unacceptable. But I'm glad to see you considering the doctor's actions (or omissions) without assuming the doctor is right. So often people put up with their worries and concerns about their doctor/office when they would never do so about other occupations. I can't imagine what beef the dr might have with the pharmacy that would take any time at all. Beyond that, if doctor thinks you aren't being seen often enough, that's for communication with you only. Yipes.

In better doctor news, Tobias' doctor instantly called in his refill for the food that is best for urinary health. I didn't even have to do anything but chat on the phone - had wondered if that was going to be a hassle.

Hello Ladies,

A huge belated thank you to Kathryn and all her assistants in getting our new home done and ready.

I've finally had a chance to peek in last night but didn't post......oh boy, I've got loads to catch up on.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes even though I've not been around - DH says thank you as well. We went out for dinner tonight and had an amazing meal.

Some news from our side of the world....we bought a house last year and we've finally got it looking more or less what we want it to.....we've cleared a massive amount of clutter and stuff away.....thrown away broken things that couldn't be repaired.

We are also grand-parents....DS23 is a father....finally DNA tests have been done and found out the baby is his by his ex......so we now have a DGS who is a year old - unfortunately DH and I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting the little guy.....there is some ways to travel to go ...... this we will do at some point when our DS is ready for a visit.

I remember saying that I had another sewing machine - at least new to me.....well I now own 7 sewing machines in total.....2 of them are antiques (one is pre-1930's Jones Familly CS hand crank and the other is a 1935 model Singer 28K hand crank)......is it strange to have named all my machines?......two were not working when I got them......cleaned, oiled and spruced them up.....all now working and make amazing stitches.

The hand cranks have been so handy when we've had power failures.....at least I can still do some sewing by the rechargeable lights we have.

I have now bookmarked our new village home and will try my utmost on being more regular now on visiting and posting.

It sure feels good to be home.

Hmmm.....I think I might be the youngest grandmother on the board.....I'm only 42.....DH and I have now been married for 22years, but we have been together for 25 years.

DD16 is loving her new school.....we managed to get her into our local one that is close to home....she now walks home after school each day.....this is a good thing for her.....she also now has a little social life where we allow her to meet up with friends, go to movies, have sleep-overs etc. She is so responsible that she sends messages if she is going to be late or when she gets home.....she stays in contact with us at all times......This may be an testament to managing to teach her to be so responsible.
