Didn't get my toes done yeaterday as Dr. worked on my sore ankle. He put twp shots in it but couldn't do toes as Medicare wont pay for two procedures the sameday. Ankle felt much better on our walk this morning.

Finnally made the scone recipe - couldn't befre as DH ate allthe eggs. Ithnk the are cool enough to eat now. Then I have to mash up two big hands of bananas left over from kids week. I'll freeze them for banana bread later.

Good morning everyone! I do mean morning, too. I got up at 800 so I could call the doctor. I wanna left thumb that does not have constant pain. Of course, it is somewhat better today, but it has pulled that trick before. They were able to give me a 915. I am going to mention the bony bump on my foot as well. It is likely unrelated, but I will let the doctor decide. Since there is not time to do much in the way of job search related tasks, this is a good time to pull a crisis cleaning task from the jar. And I suppose I should get dressed as well!

Dh called and we chatted a little bit. He had a great time at the baseball game last night. I'm so glad because he's been working flat out for a long time now and he does deserve a break! I would have enjoyed going with him, not because I like baseball (I love to nap while listening to games, but that's not quite the same as enjoying the game!) but because I like spending time with dh and enjoy the enjoyment he gets out of the game. On the other hand, in the case of yesterday, I would have been a drag the whole way, needing to stop the car at regular intervals to stretch and wanting to eat, etc. etc. He was able to drive straight through and made fabulous time without me there to be an anchor.

Just got an email from our potential buyers saying they may have an offer coming in on their home today. They are very excited. I'm excited both for them (they have done every they could to sell their home) and because it might mean they'll be in a position to buy our house. Fingers crossed. I've been putting off marketing our house because, if potential buyers can't see past art work on walls, or empty rooms, they really won't be able to see past the whole side yard being dug down 2'. It will be hard enough after it is refilled but with no grass.

That reminds me that dh get an invoice from the lawn care company. Must ask him to forward that to me.

The toddler n is here today until 6:45 apx. Fetching dgds and feed cats next up. Dgds will gather eggs later on not quite time.

MT - There's a button at the bottom of the web browser screen that looks like a piece of paper with three lines on it. Press that, then press the Settings button at the right. Change the text size to large or huge. I just tried it on my Kindle Fire and it made the text huge without it scrolling off the screen on the right side.

Anyone need an very active healthy 5 year old to visit for a few hours? I have one that needs some extra activities to do. YOWZERS! I am so very thankful for his healthy body and active mind so I'm reminding myself over and over that this is a blessing. I have already given him his 2nd bath due to playing in the mud. His last set of dirty clothes are hanging outside literally dripping mud. Guess that will be on my next to do...

VBS went very well yesterday. The children seemed to love it. Some had never rode a horse so they were super excited. Thankfully when the rain started it didn't make much difference because the outdoor activities were easily moved indoors to the large dirt arena. I took a slew of pictures and posted the top 10 to church FB group this morning. There has been a good response. Today's VBS will be interesting how it will all comes together. We will be sharing space with adults having Wednesday night church. Maybe they will join in on the bounce house & 28' slide????

Next up -
** help LO assemble the lego pieces for space ship he is building (attempting)
** spray the big pieces of mud off LO clothes & shoes. then manually wash about 90% off in the sink then put into the washing machine.
** Put handle bar back onto LO scooter.

I am at least 2 days behind on posts and I'm not sure when I last posted. I have been in cleaning mode for dh's overnight guest. By the time I was ready for company, everything looked great but I had ended up doing a stash and dash by shoving things into the out of the way library. I will work on that while he is gone. This guy will probably stay here when they come back. He was a perfect house guest. I enjoyed talking to him while dh was loading his bike.

It rained almost 2 inches overnight and is still dripping. They will be riding in the rain off and on. They had planned to be in Denver tonight. Denver is having lots of rain and street flooding. Dh and the guest thought they should head north, instead of west and then north. But nooooooooooo, dh's local friend thinks it will be fine by the time they get there. They didn't get left until 10:45 this morning. They were waiting for the rain to stop and the local guy had water in the basement after the rain and had to deal with that before leaving.

Next year they are planning to go to the North East. Dh has said that he will probably sell his road bike after that, because that will be the last of the big trips. This morning dh and I were out in his garage before the guest woke up. The guest lives on a gravel road. His tires are in horrible shape. He mentioned yesterday that it will probably be time for new tires when he gets home. Dh told me that he would never leave home with tires in that shape. It really concerns me because it didn't look like he had enough tread to be riding in the rain or later across the desert areas.

I am going to dd1s for a lunch of strawberry waffles. Then this afternoon, her, dgs20 and I are playing games. Dgd17 might join us. Also, at some point today, I HAVE to get keys made for the girls, since we have the new interior door and storm door that locks.

Dson23 and I both went to the walk-in clinic yesterday for our throats. Got anti-biotics. Taking it easy again today but have to go to work too.

Need to wake up Dson23, let him sleep in today, I don't know if he's going to work or not. His job is harder to do than mine.

lucylee, I wanted to tell you that you are blessed to have a ddil who will talk to you, even when she knows what she says will be a downer. I have this type of relationship with dstepdil - I think we could tell each other anything. With ddil, not so much. I remember when ds started dating her he was searching for someone more ... ... cultured... .. than other girls he knew. (Etiquette, knowledge/education, social skills.) And he certainly found that in ddil. But even after these years she is still sometimes formal and poised with us, even when we are ready to let down our guards. I don't think she could ever say to me, "something is not perfect, let's talk", but I wish she could.

About small houses vs larger houses. There is some truth to the difficulty of cleaning in tight quarters. Vacuums, or even mops and brooms, work much more easily if there is room to move freely around the furniture of a room. Sometimes a small bedroom with a double bed doesn't even offer room for a vacuum to turn and go up under the bed, that sort of thing. Your ddil may have a point that if they moved into a larger house (assuming it was unfurnished and they didn't make the mistake of buying too much right away), they might be able to clean well and have a more welcoming home. Could they use a storage building?

More for lucylee to count her blessings - my ds stores stuff at my parents' house so his home can be as clear and uncluttered as it is! Sigh!

My big project is finally underway. Hauled out 4 boxes and have got through one and put it in a pile ready to be returned to storage. Three more to go through, but it is a start.

Now, I think I'm ready to take a break.

The rain has stopped, sun out, poured rain again, and has stopped again so I'm checking the weather radar and if it looks good will sneak out for a short bike ride.

Edited to add: that won't work, more rain on the way. I'll wait and go out for dinner at IKEA instead.

Just a quick C. I.

I stayed up too late last night, watching Jimmy Kimmel and reading "Hidden Treasures." I got up at 9 a.m., started my day later than usual, started LOL and fell asleep in my chair for a bit. Woke up, DH was G-O-N-E, but truck was here. I found him in our bedroom, with the door pulled over to nearly closed, playing a very quiet XBOX 360 game.

Tomorrow's a busy day. Want to be ready early, as am going to listen to a co-writer's interview, from our group, on Blog-Talk Radio at 10 - 11 a.m. Have other things planned for the day, too, but will report back here, as they happen.

It's sunny and warm here again. The birds take bird baths and feed at the feeder. The deer, doe, and spotted fawns are feeding on Himalaya berries. Our 1 doe, who births out-of-season, in August, is looking very pregnant. So will be looking forward to seeing her twin fawns, too. (She always has twins).
