Hello, hello, everyone! This is lucylee typing WITHOUT constant interruptions from a little voice making demands that take much deciphering to understand.

Still, I will do well to focus on 3-minute increments… but at least the house is picked up and straightened up again, and it is quiet.

(((BIG HUGS))) for LO… you are right to keep him away from the chemo patients, though, LM… hope he feels better soon! And (((Mr. LM))) for kidney stone!

Hope Mr. Dee is doing better today following the endoscopy – and saying a prayer that biopsies show nothing serious! I wanted to hear from Mr. Dee especially today, b/c dmom told me today she has scheduled an endoscopy for Aug. 19. She thinks she has maybe a hiatal (sp?) hernia. Doctor did change her meds for Chron’s.
Oh, I see indy just had this done too! Hope you get your energy back soon and feel better!

Speaking of dmom, she was making preparations to attend her class reunion tonight, so I hope she enjoys that. I’m afraid her best friend is not going… and 2 of her other best friends have passed away. A fourth (the antique lady) was also in dmom’s close circle, and SHE is not going… partly she said, b/c it’s so sad to think of all the ones who are now missing. I think they said 13 had passed away at their 50th reunion, and besides the 2 ladies I mentioned, there are 2 men who have passed away, that they were probably very close to growing up. So that’s four out of dmom’s really close circle… but that’s part of the reason dmom DOES want to go – b/c she said, who knows when we’ll all get together again, and who we may lose before then?

I want to check the new cleaning thread… AS IF I were actually FOLLOWING ANY sort of cleaning thread??? * smh *

WTG, BookSaver, on the haircut and the donation to Locks of Love.

Need to follow Nancy outdoors and water plants… hope that cold sore goes away soon… my ddad used to have a problem with those. I’ve never really had one, I don’t think, but I know it seemed like it really bothered him when he’d get one.

(((Harmony)))

And (((Helia))) Sounds like you DO have a VERY annoying neighbor…

DOVE!!! Good to see you… and welcome to my world!!!
My file box is dusty from not being opened, my combination To Do/On My Mind notebook is stuffed with post it notes & misc scraps of paper. I've been out of the house a lot, & dh often asks me to accompany him somewhere at the last minute. Unless I have already made plans with friends I usually go with him, since we enjoy spending time together.
FF -- OH. MY. GOODNESS… The BURNING Game??? What will they come up with next??? I cannot even imagine being such a daredevil or so concerned w/peer pressure that I would try something that sounds so PAINFUL. Oh my goodness… So glad to hear Harriet’s dd’s friends are past this stage!!!

Waving to KathrynSunny… and anyone else who pops in later.

Probably should apologize for such a LONG post, but I feel like I haven’t been able to respond to ANYONE in so long, so I'm making up for lost time!

If y’all didn’t catch my quick posts from yesterday, everything is going well between dh & dbil… at least as well as could POSSIBLY be expected… and ddil came and got dgs today as soon as she got in from work. DS will be home late this evening, but then he will be gone all day again tomorrow. After that, they should have a couple of weeks when he is mostly home and things are more like “normal” for them. Thank you all sooo sooo much for helping me get some ideas on how to deal with both issues!

OH – today is dh’s birthday… my dmom called to wish him a happy birthday, but said she would get his gift to him maybe Sunday, b/c she just couldn’t get out here today. (He doesn’t know it, but she wants to bake him a cake, and she doesn’t have time to do that and get to her reunion too.) Also, ds called, and dbil told me when I went by his office that he wanted to come by on his way home and give dh his card/gift… so dh isn’t feeling forgotten at all. He was feeling a little sorry for himself w/ds out of town and his dmom gone, b/c she always made sure we did something special w/family for all birthdays. This is his first without her.
We’re going to Nashville tomorrow and spending the night, so that will be his celebration.

Y’all have a great day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Went to the beach cafe for supper and then biked to another beach much farther away and dh is having a shake. I was going to have ice cream but they don't sell it?!? And the shake isn't worth it so I am wondering if it is even made with ice cream.

My cold sore is better amd hurts less now. A bit ofmamlet down now that I have gotten the wheel. Ordered the replacement part for plying. Free shipping this week. I have some 2 plyamd single ply to use with 2 ply yarn eventually.

Today has been fiber prep. No actual spinning has happened. Some carding wool picking amd teasing. Glad I got fiber ahead of time but it is still a bit overwhelming. Living room is starting to look like a fiber nest LOL! Ack!

Back home. Did the banking and the grocery shopping on the way back.

Our store's parent company started a point program years ago and I'd get 1 pt for every dollar spent and bonus points for bill payments, etc using the bank card linked to the store's bank. Now they've expanded it and I'm finally paying attention to the program (it has been expanded at least 8 months now.)

At first I thought it was a crock but if I buy my groceries scanning my points card (which is also my bank card) it tracks what I buy and sends me special offers based on my buying patterns. For instance, I'll get an offer to buy onions about 3 weeks after I last bought onions. Almost all the items are things I would buy (it isn't asking me to try another, similar, product) and since I buy a lot of fresh veggies and fruit, this week there were 5 offers related to items I buy. So now I make note of the items. Today's notes saved me 6% on my bill so it isn't chump change. It used to be I'd get enough points each year to buy the Christmas turkey and fixings but now, I can get that much 4 - 5 times a year.

My big score ($5 savings) was on my natural laundry detergent. I use this kind because it was the only HE detergent that isn't scented when I first bought my HE washer. Not sure if that is still true but it is also a Canadian company. The stuff is expensive so getting a big rebate is great. That's the first time that came up as an offer (I've been checking offers for 6 months now) but the big deal is that I bought a huge jug 6 months ago and it is just about empty now. Today, as I did four loads of laundry, I thought how I'll have to get more. Then the offer came in today's weekly email!

Dh is upset with me saving nickels and dimes and the occasional dollar but we wouldn't be living here if we hadn't done that for our whole marriage and I don't want to stop now. For heavens sake, it isn't like I've starving the man or feeding him only pasta. Over half my bill was for a beef tenderloin (and no points were offered on it!)

No, Sunny, not just your computer. The balance in normal/sticky ones is adjusted now to have only a few months "stickied" and in order.

Errand day, with several trips getting done. Pharmacy 2 and grocery 2, Tarjay for some basics plus the grandboys' back-to-school gifts of pencil sets. Sleepover friend returned to her mother. Also had a good work out. This morning was measuring and recording for healthy habits.

A happy day to lucylee's dh.

I forgot to tell y'all -- as a 'reward' for my hard work this week, keeping dgs, taking care of estate stuff w/dh & dbil, etc. etc... I went to Tractor Supply and got Gimballs cherry candies. Only they were 2 for $5... so I got jelly beans to share w/dh, too. I just about put myself into a low blood sugar attack before supper. Don't know if I'm confessing or warning y'all -- don't know if the sale is nationwide or not -- but beware, it's hard to convince yourself you don't really NEED to "save" that 98 Cents and go ahead and get two.

Take L-Lysine for cold sores or shingles. Clears both up.

I'm up way too late, was trying to wait for DD but she is out with girlfriend. She's a pretty level-headed gal and I don't worry about her, but I get to see her so seldom I tried to wait. She's leaving to get back for school meeting tomorrow morning by 6:00 AM.

The gifts were well received. The cake and the beef stew were delicious. I think she was surprised and happy. She is taking the other gift back up with her for DGD who turns 4 in 2 days.

Feline Friend, to answer your questions, yes I got stressed, anxious, depressed all that from all the stuff we'd been through recently. I didn't like how I felt with medicine so I cut that back twice, and now am off it. I can feel the difference as it leaves. I will have to learn another way to not be a "worry wort". Haven't figured that out yet. I hope you are doing well too.

Ok, I give up waiting, off to bed.
