Just a quick C. I. here:

I read my floral file folder, put it away in the office basket, where I keep it. I read about taming paper clutter. I liked the idea they suggested:

To tame paper clutter, use the F. A. T. formula = File, Act, or Toss. It's simplifies the whole problem of paper, in such an easy-to-remember way.

I'm quite amazed at how well I am doing on such a small amount of sleep. I had only 6.5 hours the night before so it is also accumulating. Although there was also a 30 minute nap to offset the previous night.

We are home now.

My service went well and we visited a long time with the residents after, during 'coffee hour' (we go down to the always there cafe and have tea, coffee or juice.) They brought us fresh cookies this week (they've been missing for a few weeks.)

On the way home we stopped at the Chinese grocer and picked up a lid for our new frying pan. We now have 11, 12 and 13" frypans with lids. The glass lids at the Chinese grocer are just $7 each - although it just occured to me that they are probably completely unsafe since they are made in China to their standards not North America.

Dsil is feeling better and doesn't need anything so we just came home after that.

We may have a lot of driving this week. Tomorrow we are to take our senior friend home (she has spent the weekend here with friends), Tuesday I want to get the house ready for a Wednesday showing, staging the bedrooms a bit and a bit more cleaning.) Wednesday is an Anglican church bbq in the village and dd wants to go to that.

Thursday and Friday are currently clear of driving tasks.

We are planning pizza tonight since we haven't had it for two weeks now. I'm hoping to convince dh to bike with me up to pick it up.

We picked up the keyboard stand from the house today and it is a good 1.5" lower than the stand which came with my keyboard. That means that, at last, the keyboard is at a good height for playing. Yay! And this stand is quick adjust which means I can switch it to standing height for playing standing up if I need to. That might work better when singing standing next to dh while he is on the guitar.

Hello, villagers ~

DSis's annual summer party yesterday was lots of fun even though DH did not go up with me. (I didn't really expect him to go, since he hates large groups.) It was quite warm, but I stayed in the shade and managed to not get sunburned this year.

DMom and DAunt decided not to come because they were both afraid their walkers would get in the way or they might be bumped by running children. I had hoped to see DOlderSis and a couple cousins, but it turned out that other than Hostess DYoungerSis, I was the only one of the family from my generation.

I tried to chat briefly with all of DSis's friends and coworkers, but since I didn't know any of those guests and they were pretty much sticking to their own groups, I spent most of my time hanging out with DNieces and DNephews and their children. That was really nice. As the out-of-towners, DH and I don't see the younger generations very often. It's always good to have a chance to get to know them better.

Today instead of just driving through the state park, DH and I took our lunch to have a picnic and read the newspaper by the lake. So peaceful sitting in the shade, listening to the birds, and watching the small boats on the water.

Dh and I made a loop.

Biked up to pizza pickup (10 minutes), over to a park to eat (nice to be in trees and watch children and dogs but noisy because it was next to the highway), down to the grocery store, back home. Total distance just a shade over 3 miles so nothing amazing but means we had to expend some energy to get our dinner and saved those greenhouse gases from being burned (plus we saved the delivery fee and tip, although I feel bad about that since it is tough to get a job these days and if people like me stop getting my pizza delivered, it gets even tougher to make a buck.

Next up, probably watch Amazing Race Canada and maybe do nothing.

Tomorrow is a provincial holiday so it might be a good day to bike downtown and take in festivities (there's a busker festival, not sure what else.)

Hello, everyone! We are home, unpacked/etc... I slept all the way home and then took a nap!

DH is feeling slightly 'slighted' b/c apparently ds/ddil don't want to go out to eat with us tonight, and ds hasn't seen dh since his birthday, so dh has his feelings on his shoulders a little. But I think ds/ddil/dgs will be coming over a little later to give him a card & present -- they just ate a late lunch today and ddil has to get up at around 1:00 a.m. for the 3:00 a.m. shift at the hospital -- so I understand, certainly. Maybe they will spend a little time and then dh & I can go out to a movie or something. Dmom was supposed to call me if she had time to stop by on her way to church -- b/c she still wants to give dh card/present -- but since I haven't heard from her, I bet church was a no-go for her tonight, too. (* sigh * As I reported in J&C, she did not make it to her reunion, either. She is very frustrating to me.)

We had a great time -- Grand Ole Opry and Midnight Jamboree, delicious supper... just a very relaxing trip -- except for two angry people in parking lots and I do not think dh was a fault either time. Sometimes I can definitely find plenty of fault in dh's driving -- but these episodes definitely were not his fault. Just a lot of angry people I think, in all the hustle/bustle of the tax free shopping weekend, every place packed, stressful. * sheesh * When we finally got back on the interstate headed home, dh said, "I am ready to be OUT of this traffic and back in (Tiny Town)." LOL... I told him to just breathe and think happy thoughts.

Haven't really cuop yet -- hope things are going well for all of you!

Watched my show and am now just surfing the net so will give up and go to bed. I need sleep.

Dh is reading so he won't miss me.

Today was surprisingly productive given how late I went to bed but I don't want to make a habit of doing that.

Good Evening, Ladies!

Lucylee, I have a SC pen pal who said SHE was "staying home" on the tax-free weekend. She said there are big crowds. She mentioned it after saying school was ready to start soon, so tax-free weekend was popular to people so they could get tax-free school supplies.

I re-did the desktop in my office and shelves. I'm still not quite "happy" with the desktop, so will change it again, until I have less "stuff" on it. It's the caddies with folders, which are driving me nuts. They peer up from behind my opened laptop above my screen, only further back next to the wall. I need more white space there.

I s2s, put on a Muumuu, we had dinner, and we watched "Ender's Game," for the 3rd time; various grs's and once with DD. I crocheted while it was on.

I'll put up my "Monday Mojo" card for tomorrow. I can use some. Am sleepy, as I got up at 6 a.m. and early the day before, too. We'll get up around 7:15 a.m. tomorrow, if I sleep that long. Need to go over my "to do" list and folder index cards, to see if there are any important or outstanding things to get done tomorrow. I have a story outline, to write from, while DH and dgs are gone. Would like to crochet again and sweep the office. Might move some craft items from my small office shelves, into the main office closet, where there's more room. I asked dgs what HE'D do to make the shelves look better? He simply said, "Well.... I'd put the stuff that really doesn't NEED to got there- and put them SOMEPLACE ELSE!" And that's craft items. Kids are GR8!

Hoping everyone has a wonderful upcoming week.

This was not a productive day for me at all, but I do have a 5x5 for tomorrow and some hopes for the week.

HRH wanted to sit in LR and watch a program as we ate supper. Don't know how I did it but as I sat, I spilled a bit onto myself and it was hot, I jerked, and the rest spilled onto me as well. Oh well, I needed to wash those slacks. HRH cleaned the couch cushion. Eating at table is by far a better idea.

lucylee, I'm sorry you and dh had bad experiences in parking/traffic.

tax-free or other shopping days - I scrupulously avoid these. Anything that gets the crowds out does not appeal to me.
