Harriet, I would have been livid at the girl calling the shots like that. Maybe it's "just me", but that girl sounds like she's got a control problem- at a young age and takes people for granted, not realizing how she's inconveniencing others.

Helia, Glad you had a fun weekend. It's always fun to have fun.

Lucylee, Hoping it works out between you and Ddil, too. Sometimes Ddil's automatically put the Dmil in an "odd" light, just because they're the Dmil and nothing else. Rivalry.

It was like that, sometimes, between Dmil and DH and me. I know, now, that she's gone, she meant well though and did and said things out of genuine love. ♥ It's just that I was so young, let her get under my skin, and really shouldn't have because she never had a DD and treated me like her OWN DD. I lacked that type of love and helpfulness growing up between my own Dmom and me. So it was hard to get used to new mother-love, as an adult woman. I guess, in a way, I rejected her because I felt like Dmil has ulterior motives, like MY Dmom WOULD. But she innocently did not have motives. So I assumed a lot of negative thinking, but loved her, learned a lot from her, especially about how to do laundry. She always complimented me on how I looked, my hair or my clothes. Anyway, I hope your Ddil has a quickly-forgiving heart and comes to understand you're NOT telling her she's a slob, but it's a cute name, to refer to being a SHE. I hope it works out between you two.

Twins', It's great you got your Dmom's deed and will straightened out, too.

I went to bed at 10:15 p.m., woke up, got d2s, and up at 6:15 a.m., but napped from 8 - 9:30 a.m. and figured it out that I'd slept 10 HOURS! Must've been tired, but it could be the on-shore flow making it much cloudier and more of a cooler sleepier morning.

I'm doing 1 LOL now. DH and Dgs are leaving to pick up a prescription, Visine-A eye drops, and Molly McButter for me at Safeway. Then they're going to Game Stop. DH bought Dgs a navy athletic suit with bright orange stripes down the outsides of the arms and legs. It's so ADORABLE on him! He loves it, too. It's sure cute.

I need to go use my peak flow meter now that I've done the QVAR and brushed my teeth. I'm counting calories today and am reading FlyLady's and Leanne Ely's book "Body Clutter." I'm writing in a special journal as I go, too. It's finally sinking in.

Dh suggested a bike ride so we drove downtown into the Lowertown area to the rehab hospital and visited our senior friend from the retirement home. She goes home tomorrow so I'm excited for her. We met another of her granddaughter's as well, today. They are all beautiful.

Next we biked over to the chip wagon and had lunch and then high-tailed it home. Total distance was 10.5 miles with over 3/4 of it along bike paths or lanes. Some of the scenery was extraordinary.

It only took 30 minutes to get to Lowertown. That is the most touristy part of the city, so it is good know it is such an easy bike ride. Not sure how long it took to get home but there was more downhill.

I did some stretches after and am still a bit sore. But at least I don't feel guilty about my lunch, nor about missing going last week (when dh went to Boston.)

Dinner tonight will be something light, like eggs. We've had a bit too much fast food lately.

The agent phoned and there will be two showings tomorrow, one in the morning and another at night. I need to make up a sign saying why the lot is torn up and post it.

Will head out there later in order to do some cleaning. Ds is at work until 3 so if I time my visit for after then, he can help me set up the beds. I've decided to move beds into the bedrooms in order to slightly 'stage' the rooms. The bedrooms will look larger once there are beds in them. Of course, that doesn't deal with the lack of closet space but nothing can be done about that.

Sitting and waiting on hold for BCBS to figure out what I'm talking about when I say Thermogram. So far, two people who have never heard of it, one of whom wonders what kind of x-ray would need heat. Doesn't look good for them paying, does it? Of course, I can spend my own money on any info I want - nobody's stopping me. I'd just like to know that they wouldn't continue sending me notices that a mammogram is due, if I proved I had gotten my breasts scanned otherwise. Hmmm... after a long while, back on the line asking me to spell it. I think i'm speaking a foreign language... ...

Well, they say get a procedure-code and diagnosis-code first because they have no idea. So that answers the "paying for it" question - obviously they don't. On the other question of whether a different breast scan would affect the letters they send about mammogram - they are calling the letters they send customers about procedures like colonoscopies, mammograms, etc, "friendly suggestions" and say it never affects insurance if a person doesn't get them. I'm not sure that's right. I thought there was at least the hint of lower premiums for those who kept up with procedures they reminded about?

Kathryn, Your bike ride sounded so nice. The granddaughters of your Senior friend sound beautiful... probably as much as your Senior friend is.

Helia, You've been productive today.

I did my morning routine, too:

x emptied the DW
x changed kitchen mats
x washed the kitchen counters well, under stuff.

Next:
- I'll continue to work on a story by hand
- will fix pills for the week
- will make a Costco list for their coupon book day for Thursday.
- will dump trash b/c trash day's Wed., take-up, to the curb for Thurs.
- will have DH check his closet for an ARC donation. I'm almost done!

I was reading my print-out about the SHE-sister's OMM list, but never actually "absorbed" you make an action card from the list for things to do a.s.a.p.! I don't know "why" I didn't read that part, until today. At least I know now.

Am wearing down and the clock says 12:58 p.m. only. I have 10 hours to go before bedtime.

DH got a few used cheap XBOX 360 games, with a 50% off coupon for the summer, where he went. He and Dgs will enjoy playing.

I am back from my workout. Ds got home and is concerned about dMacs' eye - thinks there is something wrong with it, so to make ds happy I am taking dMacs to vet for a 6 p.m. appt. His eye does look a little runny or sensitive but I don't really think it warrants a trip to the vet. I'm frustrated that I have things to do and now he wants me to do this. I may make him go with me. Then dh called and we agreed to invite dfriends over tomorrow night for dinner and I have to do the calling too. I hate it when people start assigning jobs to me.

Harriet if it were me I would have a talk with dd and the next three times that friend wants to come over not allow that but that is just me.

Nancy, I checked the inside-the-drug-store clinic cost for A1C tests here, thinking that might be a sensible alternative to suggest. I guess not. It is $59 at the one near me called "Minute Clinic" at C V S store. So that's 5 times more in cost than the mail-off ones. I've seen them at the store and didn't know they require mailing.

It was obvious to visiting girl's mother that I did not understand where to pick up or drop off and she questioned her dd as we were parting company. She seemed suspicious that her dd had tricked her somewhat, but she stopped short of saying much about it in front of us. I would definitely say the mother had been misled into believing I agreed to all the travel. I have a feeling the young lady has some explaining to do at home.

Part of the news coming out about Big Bang Theory is that they are assured 3 more years with CBS, for at least a 10-year run, total.

Ordered stamps. Always enjoy that. I like having some that are funny for children, some that work better for men, pretty ones for women. The "Farmer's Markets" stamps are shipping now, even though they are not officially issued for a couple days. You can pre-order the "Hudson River" landscape painting stamps and they will arrive at no extra shipping cost in another package on the 21st. So I definitely did that - they will be great for men.

Back home from the house and have had supper.

We drove out and I set up two beds with dh and ds's help. The third bed (Queen sized air bed) wasn't there. At dinner dh remembered it is under the Christmas tree in the basement here. We'll take it out tomorrow afternoon before the second showing. At least I now have beds in the two smaller rooms to give people an idea of how large the rooms really are.

The bins are out of the laundry room (I used them as the base for one of the beds and hid that with a 'dust ruffle'.) The kitchen is cleaned up but not gleaming (dh did the dishes so I know he didn't shine the sink.)

Ds tidied up his room there but is sleeping here tonight because he needs to stay up very late tonight and switch over to nights for tomorrow. I had him bring all his dirty laundry with him so I can wash it here. That way we get the room cleaner and save the electricity to run the washer. Between the two house showings (one at 9:30) plus the electrician needing into the house (we hope), sleeping there wasn't going to work.

At least we usually get 24 hours notice for a showing so it means we can move ds wherever he needs to be to sleep.

I gardened as well, getting all but the back hedge garden cleared out.

So lots was done there. Ds rode back in with us. We stopped to pick up Chinese for dh and then at the eye place to get ds's new sunglasses. He and I had frozen dinners for our supper.

I'm exhausted and my foot is very sore (biking does make my foot sore but it will be better tomorrow.) I need to start a list of all that I have to do between now and traveling. First up is to pay bills.

Home with dMacs, issue w eye is unknown at this point. Not scratched, but it's not weeping, no discharge and he doesn't seem bothered by it. May resolve itself or may be the forerunner of neurological issues or tumor. We're going to put antiobiotic ointment into his eye for a few days in case there's been some irritation.

Dh is home and is mowing the yard.
