SUMMER SUNDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

It's still summer, though in many places kids are preparing to go back to school. Are you prepared for the school year to start? Can summer be that close to being over? Here we have 3 weeks before the kids go back. DDIL has this week off to be with dgs9 and then I'll have him to watch over the following 2 weeks. Trying to think of some things to do with him (not every day) that he'll enjoy and I'll have the energy for.

My tummy is quite 'off' this morning. I had planned to go to church, but I'm not too sure at this point. :? Wanted to put the man whom dh saved early May on the prayer list there too. More in J&C on that.

I was sad to see Tony Stewart was involved last night in a fatal accident on a track not too far from here. The circumstances were surely crazy and I know that will affect him for years to come.

DD left here Friday night about 9:30 to head home. Got mixed up on her routes around Harrisburg, PA and somehow ended up on the Beltway???? She never found a hotel and stopped here 'n there for power naps. She finally texted at 2:15 this morning that she was home. We told her we weren't going to let her do this routine again. Worried about her all night. Already miss having her around, but she'll be back for a few days September 17th. Then we should be there early November.

Dee, I wondered if that race track was near you. We are Tony Stewart fans and are just sick about this fatal accident.

I am relieved to hear that your dd is safely home after not finding a hotel and driving straight thru with power naps.

As the crow flies, Lilac, probably 30 miles or less. Both our boys have raced there many a time. Tony's definitely not had a good year and I'm sure this will plague him for some time.

Dh just finished his breakfast -English muffins and peanut butter. Think we're going to try to go watch dgs9 race go-karts early this afternoon -depends on my tummy. He's only racing part of the day as he has to go for the FCA lacrosse tryouts in another town about 20 miles from there. Dh wants to go look at the car I'm 'thinking' about when we leave the track -it's in the same town. Doubt they're open today, but at least he can look to see what it's like. Looking at a Dod ge J ourney. We have a T own 'n C ountry right now, but not sure we need one that big any more. We'll see. Not sure what we're gaining by going to a smaller one. Mileage is almost the same and price could be a $1,000 or 2 less (I think).

I'm up for the day finally here. This was an awful night at our house. I don't know what's going on with Moses (we think he's constipated) but it feels like he's barking every few minutes for a trip outside. On top of that my cold has progressed and I had a stuffy nose and was coughing a lot - I think around 3-something I coughed so much I thought I would throw up. Got up and found something to take and slept off and on the rest of the night w/o the CPAP, which I think was aggravating the cough. Then I was up around 7:30, and dh was had come back to bed (he took Moses for a little walk around 4:30 and got up then!) and when I laid down Moses barked again and I started coughing, so I stayed up then so dh could sleep. I think I went back to sleep around 9 a.m. and slept until just now, when dh got me up to say goodbye to dd who is heading back to K-town. At one point during the night I got up, let Moses out, got him in and got back in bed, and he barked again immediately, and ds came downstairs to let him out also. I got up and talked to ds then. I gave Moe canned pumpkin, which is good for both constipation and the "runs" for dogs.

Dee, I was guessing that the track was near you.

Dh has gone to the market. I didn't go but I think we will still try to workout later. I may only walk or may go through weight machines and accept that I'm not at 100% today.

-clear kitchen counters
-start a lol
-refill meds, vitamins and take mine
-go upstairs and find the scales to bring back down
-water/fertilize tomatoes and squash

The public schools here started last Thursday. I talked to two teacher friends this weekend and they were saying how glad they were to start with a two-day week. Ds starts a week from tomorrow, and dd a week from Wednesday.

-fold and put away lol
-personal grooming to go to Y later (brush teeth, wash face, get dressed, still in pajamas  )
-make the bed
-

Ooops, dh is already home, I guess it will be time to go to the Y soon.

Nice opener, Dee. :D

I need to ice and elevate my ankle today. I sold a short story. Ddil sent some photos of a NCIU picnic for little patients, who survived, their Dr.'s and nurses. Ddil made NCIU Patient t-shirts with the year the 2 youngest grands were in NCIU. She attached a tutu to Dgd's tee. Too cute!

It's sunny, will be in the upper 80's today. I don't have any LOL to do today, as there aren't enough dirty things for a full load.

We're sleeping really great with the quilted-fiberfill mattress cover on over our Naturpedic foam pad, on our bed. It's so comfortable and wonderful, especially for me. The old mattress pad cover was rippling up under my back. :? So uncomfortable.

I'm taking a short break from finishing up a few things to get ready for dfam#2 this afternoon. All the big stuff like mopping, vacuuming and dusting are done. I've swiped the door frames and windowsills and walls where the ddogs lay against. I have a couple lol to do, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning for that.

It's been hot and humid here in the sunshine state the last few days. No rain, but it's very cloudy here today and a warm breeze blowing the hot air around! Maybe tomorrow we'll get some showers.

Dgd12 has a girl scout thing this afternoon, then they will be here for supper....ham, mac 'n cheese, creamed corn, rolls and maybe another veggie. Ddil is bringing dessert.

Next thing to do is water the flowers by the front porch. I can't remember when our day to water is, but everything is drying out, so will do it real quick.

Twins, sorry you had such a bad night. Could Macs have a UTI?

We went to the last service at church today. I took a big chance and went in the car with DH but I told him I didn't want to wait around and be the last one leaving. He was pretty good, came out pretty quickly today, thank goodness. It was hot in the car.

Did a big cleanup in the kitchen and put lots of stuff away. DH went to the beach. He wanted me to go with him but right now I hate doing that, it just zaps my energy to be in the sun very long. He was disappointed but I encouraged him to go. We checked first to see what they were saying about the water quality. They had closed the beaches all up and down the Gulf, but apparently all is ok now.

Think I'll just rest a bit. It is Sunday, after all. We have some paperwork to do when DH gets back. But dinner is leftovers from yesterday. I'm glad to not be busy for a change.
