I snacked tonight, but am within my calorie range, got in activity today, for about 1 hour, and think I did well today.

The cookies, snacks and LOTS of foods are boxed up into 2 boxes and the cooler will be filled in the morning with more and unopened chocolate milk, etc.. for Ddil/Dson/grands tomorrow. It'll be nice to get these tempting foods OUT OF OUR HOUSE! :D

We ate out last night - very nice restaurant and ate too much but it was sooo late (past 9 p.m. getting our food) and I was starving. Reservation was after services at 8 p.m. and it took everyone quite a long time to settle down and order....long evening.

Once home, past 10 p.m. I went out and walked dogs and got to 10K steps again - fourth day in a row now. :D I think dh will want to go to Y today - my legs are still sore and I might prefer to go tomorrow, but I will go whenever he wants to get there.

Finished out the week with the rest of the Total workout (first the stretch), and the Fit mini-workout from the book DVD for 45 minutes today.

That's 2 hours and 20 mins of formal exercise for the week, even though I got in 4 off days. That's very close to ideal, so I'm happy.

Yesterday and today were suspicious as far as eating and stress. I ate out for all meals yesterday because we had had no water since the afternoon before. I disliked the taste of the bottled water we had yesterday, and I think I avoided it. There was stress/absentmindedness because of a social event (I think I was still eating at 9:00 as well, Twins' Mom - something I would never do at home), and the stress seemed to follow me into today somewhat.

Tomorrow is another day.

Kathryn - aroma in the bathroom, perhaps? Would that make shower more welcoming? Orange/citrus for alertness, a "wake-up" aroma, or one of the many "linens" type fragrances. As others are mentioning, music (with any tech gadget far away from bathtub)? All new towels/washcloths? Change of lighting? Mini-heater (far from bathtub)? Is it a visual, auditory/echo, or just a space/feel discomfort, or more than one of those?

The shower issue is I know I will be scalded and frozen. The only question is how much. Today the shower started hot and no matter how much I added cold water, it never got truly comfortable but I was in a hurry. I know my best results are turning the hot water to 2/3 and the cold to 3/4 on. But today that failed me.

If the shower is running cold and I turn up the hot water, it goes freezing cold. The cold water tap works somewhat as I'd expect it to so it is the only one that I dare touch. Of course, I have to be under the water to adjust it so if it is scalding there's nothing I can do but push the shower head straight down so it isn't hitting my body and wait until the temperature is manageable.

Some days are ok, and for the few minutes the water goes nuts, I set it to low flow and stand at the end of the tub out of the water. Other days, it never regulates itself. This is a problem throughout the building and apparently worse in winter.

BTW: if you are filling the tub for a bath, the temperature remains steady at whatever you set it. This is an issue with the low-flow shower regulators that they've put in to cut the flow of water in a shower. Mine is better than it was since we changed shower heads that are greater than 1.5 gpm but it is still unreliable, just not reliably scalding/freezing all the time now. (BTW 2.5 gpm is considered a low flow shower head and it appears impossible to buy anything lower than that from a store, it is a special order torture device.)

Didn't count points yesterday but ate sort of ok.

Today wasn't okay but I still managed to avoid bread and soda (except for some in the punch.)

Oooooooh. Okay, I may be out of ideas. Get used to baths? Or, wait... ... if the tub faucet will do what you tell it, what about a shower head that feeds from the tub faucet,
like this Delta one
or this inexpensive type Holmez brand that is less of a commitment and doesn't require changing the fixtures.

Kathryn - I used to have a shower head like that that wasted more water trying to regulate the temp than you used in the shower. It was govt issue free. I swapped it back to my store bought on - also 3 stars here, but possible to regulate with a bit of trouble.
I turn on hot water and wait for it to 'arrive' - sometimes the pressure goes right back after that. I adjust it to not be full bore - then add the cold.
The trouble with the endorsed ones seemed to be that the pressure of whichever water was flowing hardest would keep the other water from blending in. IMO. Suspect backflow.

I'm needing to keep an eye on my weight too. It is up 7lb/3-4k from what was maybe sort of low. I can't afford for it to keep climbing. Just as I couldn't afford for it to keep dropping before. I've tried to draw a line in the sand.

I could do with a new glucose monitor too Nancy. I need to research if any test strips are different prices despite the deals and cash backs on offer. It would show if food intolerances were acting up and causing swings and dips in bs. Which would explain my other difficulties atm. Some of my food choices ingredients might be suspect.

My feet and ankles do better if I keep off them.
Just begin.

I managed to workout yesterday - spent 15 min on treadmill at a nice pace, then did upper body machines and some of abs work. Enough to feel I wasn't letting the cold beat me down.

Slept in until almost 9 a.m. today - I know I needed extra rest because I didn't use the CPAP last night - triggered too much coughing.

I got my scale back in my bathroom yesterday but afraid to go near it. We have been out the last four nights - three for dinner and one evening for dessert after having lasagna at home. I feel fat and bloated right now. Will plan to eat well today anyway.

I used a rubber shower head like that one. We had a tub but no shower, and I used one like that when we lived in a mobile home while we were building a house for ourselves. The last one had no suction cup to attach it to the wall and was strictly hand-held so it was a nuisance, but they both worked. I had to be careful not to turn on the fawcett water too much because that would pop off the rubber hose! Funny to remember all that.

Now here's a news flash nobody should ever have to write: tonight I brought out the suitcase where I have the clothes I can no longer wear or are still too small - and got out the too-big cotton gray slacks and wore them because now they fit. Boo-hoo. I hate that I feel uncomfortable right now. I've been watching my diet now, hopefully this will be short-lived.
