Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
Ds has finally had an eye-opening moment on social media, so maybe he will start listening to me about posting so openly and having so many people as friends who can see all. He posted a photo of himself on ddil's brother's green 4-wheeler. Unbeknownst to him, an FB acquaintance's green 4-wheeler had been stolen. She posted underneath the photo, and accused ds of stealing it! This was shocking and upsetting to him, as well as to ddil, of course.
Thankfully, they were able to point out that you could just see "Honda" in a corner of the photo he posted, and asked her what brand hers was. She never responded at all, although he has learned that hers was a Suzuki, so anyone who knew hers would have had to agree that in his photo was proof they were different. She was just not a big enough person to come back to the discussion and admit it, leaving that accusation out there for anyone to see.

Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
And again a late start for me, altho I was up at 7:45ish and have wasted a lot of time since then. I did go out earlier to p/u Macs meds - now that his pain meds have been in him awhile I'll go ahead and do their walks. Ds wants to go shopping for school stuff today - we have agreed on 2 p.m. and then this evening there is an event at JCC to attend.
-walk ddogs
-clear & wipe kitchen counters and breakfast bar
-make the bed
-s2s
-fold and put away a load of laundry, start a load of delicates to hang in washer
Wow, just wow, Harriet. I am sharing less and less on social media. I "like" some posts, comment some and repost lost dogs but I'm not putting my own personal stuff out there.
Dee, congrats on the new wheels!
I took my trash out last night, Nancy.
Kathryn, hopefully the house won't be your problem much longer. That's probably worth a lot to you right there and you'll be able to move on. Hope ds finds something that will work for him and TGF.
Waving to Helia and lynlee, and those who come in!

Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
Oh, that is irritating and weird, Harriet - the fb incident, that is. Was it possible the acquaintance was just joking - poorly? As in, your 4 wheeler looks just like mine - did you steal it? I guess ds would know. I think his point and question re: brand exonerates him - and makes her look. . well. . . not too great socially if she doesn't respond. I think I'm sharing less on fb too. My time there ebbs and flows. I try to keep my posts pretty casual and light-hearted, not too personal - or even too deep. That might make me look like a more shallow person, but I just don't think fb is a good place for the sharing and discussions of more complex ideas and thoughts as there's a greater risk of misunderstanding by someone out there and you lose the personal interaction/body language that could be helpful with some controversial topics. And then, it seems like fb discussions can result in complex ideas and issues being distilled down to bare bones platitudes or simple concepts, which they aren't. Actually, I've seen fewer discussions like that on fb, so maybe everyone is doing that less? --BTW, I enjoy all my SHE facebook friends' posts a lot!!
Um, I still haven't done much - but dh has left for work. Dd18 has returned from a meeting. I have some lunch made so eating that and finishing the a.m. routine are next. I have s2s-ed and made a li$t and measured dh's inseam. 29 inseam and 31 waist. I need to order him pants.

Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
Morning ya'll....
Happy for both Kathryn and Dee. Glad to see Lynlee again.
Sad to hear about Robin Williams. His suicide was more shocking than his death. Depression, such as his, is a terrible thing to fight. Perhaps his death will shine a light on this mental illness and help others who battle this disorder on a daily basis. This is exactly why I worry about my ds all the time.
Someone asked when school started. Mine started last Wednesday. I received a call to sub on the first day of school, but was in Dallas. Don't think I would have accepted the assignment anyway. I did sub yesterday at a new-to-me school and had a great time. The admin asked if I would accept a long term assignment, but I politely declined. However, to help them out, I am going back tomorrow for a half a day. I have two friends that work at this school. They were with me at my home school. I was able to eat lunch with one, and spend a few minutes with the other.
Today I am running my errands that I had intended to do yesterday. I need to pick up a birthday present for my friend. I will be meeting her along with others later this afternoon for a happy hour at a restaurant. I don't usually do this, but she is my same friend who's husband was stuck over in Iraq and I want to support her while he is gone.
Its suppose to rain this afternoon, thru the night and into tomorrow morning. Hope the weather people are right because we sure do need the rain.
Back later when I have more time....enjoy your day whatever it brings.

Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
Good morning, villagers ~
I'm posting before cuop, so very much out of the loop. I've tried to stop by and read since Saturday afternoon but was interrupted each time. Busy busy!
Saturday was sewing group meetings.
* In the first meeting for all members, the speaker for the educational program was engaging and did a good job. Unfortunately, I've already done a lot of research into her topic -- wardrobe planning and decluttering a closet -- so did not learn anything new. Got to see a good friend who hasn't been able to attend for a few months, which made the trip into The Big City worthwhile.
* In the second meeting for board members, I had to bite my tongue several times and keep reminding myself to be "supportive and cooperative." Yet another sticky situation has occurred. Staying on the board has become such a drag. Enough said.
Sunday was DMom's birthday party, lots of family, lots of fun.
Yesterday DH had a vacation day. We took lunch over to the state park for a picnic by the lake, and then enjoyed a relatively long hike on one of the trails. We also took a look at the cabins they have for rent as an alternative to hauling our tents to the campground.
I investigated more about the cabins last night on the park's website. They look like a very good deal, the price is reasonable and they have lots of amenities like a/c & heat, furniture (beds not on the ground!
), microwave & refrigerator. No indoor plumbing but there are pit toilets nearby and the campground's shower house is not too far away. The most difficult thing about the cabins seems to be that they're all but impossible to reserve on weekends. We need to talk to DBIL and his wife about whether they can ever take vacation days during the week rather than a long weekend.
Today I'm doing all the things I would normally have done on a Monday. Trying yet again to deep clean the kitchen, a job that never seems to get completely done.

Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
~~~waving HI to all~~~~
I've CUOP but haven't posted for a couple days. When I get emotionally overloaded I tend to get quiet. I don't want to talk or think about it, so I keep myself super busy. This results in being happy to get many things done while giving my emotional self some time to recover. Not sure if that makes sense.....
Tonight we take LO to "meet the teacher" at his school. The school expects LO class will be over 20 students so they are anticipating splitting the students between 2 teachers. We have know both of the teachers for over 30 years and they are highly recommended so we aren't too concerned which teacher LO gets. We are hoping they don't separate LO and his closest friends, but even if the worst happens they will still have several time slots together (recess, lunch, PE ). Last night I labeled all of LO school supplies (requested by school) and packed it all into his backpack to take tonight. This will be the first year LO will have his own school desk with storage so he will be learning to keep up with & take care of his own supplies. School starts on Thursday. Where did the summer go?
Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
I've been doing a cuop between other cards.
Glad to see Lynlee stopping by more often these days.
Oh my, obviously DH and I totally avoided Anti-procrastination Monday since we ran away for a play date at the park!
Exciting news for Dee and Kathryn!
I hope Harriet's DD15 had a good driving experience in class. It's nice that she already knows the instructor.
Re: TIP TOE TUESDAY
Took some papers over to the car salesman to show that dh was a retiree of K odak -gives us about a $300 discount on the car. Then I had to generate a code on our laptop. For some reason the printer is printing IF I mess around with it and turn it off and reconnect???? So now I have that typed out.
Left there and went to W mart for a few things because I needed color ink. They only had it in a dual pack and chances are I wouldn't use the 2nd one, nor even all the first one. That would mean taking it south so it wouldn't freeze. So will see if I can order it online.
Financial advisor told us money should be in our account Monday, but I'm not real sure if that means it will be available that day. But I think so. Normally our deposit from E Jones is available from the time it goes in. Our car will need gas and I'm trying to decide just how much to put in. Dh may take it to a track further away on Saturday night (if he can get someone else to drive). Our new car will come with a half tank of gas. C hrysler no longer does the gas but leaves it up to the dealership. Dh feels that for the money and little trade in, that there should be more gas.
I 'unpinned' from the start screen (have windows 8) the free cell game. I click on it way too easily. I'm hoping that by having to go looking for it, it won't be such an easy time-waster for me.
Bought things for chili today and have meat thawing. However I neglected to pick up the seasoning packet.
