LM, I fell and landed on my knee cap once many years ago. Apparently it takes a lot to break a kneecap! I went down on the concrete garage floor when my feet were wet and I slipped. I did go to ER; they immobilized it for a couple or three days but otherwise I was fine. I hope you're on the mend by now, or getting it looked at. It was an ugly bruise.

Done with that round.
-fold two lol and put away
-straighten MBR
-take out kitchen trash
-take care of 10 pieces of paper from my desk
-pick up dog poop in back yard

Thanks for the support, hugs and well wishes. I think my knee is going to be okay. The swelling is about half what it was last night. It is developing a rather impressive bruise about 4"x 4" in size. I can walk and bend it without pain. All is well as long as nothing touches it (very tender).

Twins - I'm thankful you posted about the baby gift. That triggered my memory to buy a birthday gift for one of LO friends party.

The flurry of getting back into school activities has me scrambling. How did I use to juggle this when I had a much more demanding schedule?

Last night I went shopping for....
** LO a new swim suit. He has outgrown his from this year and has a pool party to attend this week. I was afraid we had waited too late in the season to find any, but THANKFULLY after going to two store we found them.
** LO new underwear and socks. I swear his isn't two months old but they are too small now. He must be going through a massive growth spurt.
** A super hero outfit for LO to wear in the upcoming marathon.
** LO an outfit to wear in parade this week. His class chose to dress up in our state professional basketball theme. We found a shirt but the shorts I brought home are waaay too big. He still need some sport thing to wave or carry in the parade.

After I found all those items it was late and stores were closing. I didn't have a chance to get the birthday gift. Pause..... I just ordered a remote helicopter from amazon. I hate to be non creative with gift selections but this gift has been an absolute hit every time we have given it (more than 1/2 dozen times)....and it is under $20. Win-Win.

I'm short-waisted, so I don't have any problem with jeans fitting, low-ride, etc. I have 1 pair of Levi boot-leg jeans for dress-up, a roomy pair of dark denim by Gloria Vanderbilt, for everyday around the house, and then 1 pair forest green and 1 pair burgundy, which are roomy, size 16-W, that I wear going out to do errands and/or at home. I like the colors, which match different sweaters, turtlenecks, and tops. I have 2 pairs of stretch lighter-weight lighter denim color, but they're plain size 16 (without the W) and are too snug right now. :( I had 2 pairs of black denim jeans, size 16, without the W again, so I can't wear them right now. I'm long-legged, so I have more of a problem with them getting too short, so buy Longs or bootleg. I don't do jeans that are girlie with bling or anything. I think it's kind of silly on a woman who's almost 63. Let the younger mothers or women in their teens, 20's and 30's wear that sort of thing. It's cute on them. ;)

LOL #3 is drying now. DH loaded and started the DW running. He pruned today, too, and helped with LOL, making the bed with fresh sheets and watched baseball, etc.., too.

I'm getting ready to write dates of upcoming appt.'s, days when to call in prescriptions, etc.. in my day planner. Have a yearly eye appt. coming up, which can be anxiety-provoking. There are 2 separate eye problems in 2 separate eyes, which either one could need emergency surgery at any time. So far, nothing's progressed suddenly to that point. Everything's been remaining more or less the same for 2.5 years. Oh, well. I've been there, done this before, so it's not that big of a deal. It's just the yearly eye exam, scans, etc... I sure do hope it's time for new lenses, because I've saved my old Jones of New York dark tortoise shell horn-rimmed eyeglasses. I'd love to have them refilled again. I've not had new lenses for about 4 years. The glasses look a lot like Kathryn's on MO in photos. I do feel a "bit tense" about this appt. for some reason. I'm trying to get Christmas crochet done, so keep thinking "IF". I'm looking forward to next weekend, when this upcoming week's behind me. :!:

Tidied up the bedroom, bathroom, end table, eating bar, and things look nice, still, in my small office.

Have a nice evening, Everyone.

LadyM, It sounds like LO is really growing a LOT! :D I'm glad your knee's improving, too.

((LadyM)) hoping you have a similar knee-healing experience to Twins' Mom.

lucylee, my answer is quick and simple. I look for elastic at the waist. :)

Twins' Mom's waist/tummy and hip/thigh explanation sounds like my body type as well. Talbots - I might be willing to try them through ordering. But here at the physical shop not so far from my home, I feel uncomfortable. Everything is made for dd16's figure, and I don't get the impression that salespersons believe they can help me find anything.

A couple nervous-making things happening here. One is that I really went out on a limb (this may be a pun, actually) and purchased HRH's bday gift from overseas - a walking staff made in/from the woods around his clan-ancestors' neighborhood ( :) ) in Scotland. Even though it is a simple, natural thing, the shipping (if you can imagine the shape and size of such a package), costs more than the gift! So I really hemmed and hawed before I could bear to pay that extra cost.

I've never been in the talbot's store bc I can tell I would feel out of place, Harriet.

Finally cooled off a bit, but I'm afraid ddil is sorta "hot" bc it seems she perceived I was trying to step in w/dgs in her place -- simply walking with me (and her!) to meet a new friend his age. Smh... I told ds I was afraid she thought I was encroaching on her territory, but we were only trying to say good night and leave the festival. Ddil kinda went in the direction of the restroom and left dgs w/us and ds. We left him with the band and came on to the hotel.
Smh.... She'll get over it.
Tomorrow is another day.

I have a long torso, so wear Levi jeans, in faded stone washed bc I could not find the dark blue ones. I need a new pr. one are in pretty rough shape.

I one other stretch pr. Not sure of the brand in black I wear for nice.

Hens are fine locked up for the nite. We had meat pies for dinner. I got some weeds pulled cleaned a nest box and apx. Half of the coop. Two of the three hens are done hatching one is "helping" the other hen she crawled in with the other on that still had eggs. I took out her's that she abondened they.
