I'm tripping along, one last day of driving and we'll be home.

Agreed, Kathryn! I'll be 'tripping' on over to stay with dgs9 for a while, bringing him back over to our RV later this morning.

Dh was unexplainably (to him) very tired last night and we were in bed almost as soon as he returned from fire dept meeting. Know he got up during the night -then I was awake and read just for a short time.

Our 'house' is in dire need of a deep clean. At least hope to get a little done today. I find it harder when others are in with me.?????

today I went tripping out to a new to me yoga class. It didn't take as long to get there as I'd imagined. It was good to be there.

Oh so true, Dee! Give me an empty house and I can get so much done!

I immediately thought of tripping over things! That's a good thought - spending a day clearing floors of anything that might be causing you to make pathways instead of having enough space for passing each other in hallways or getting around furniture, through closets to each corner.

I didn't watch the Emmys last night, but was interested in results this a.m. I admit there were a lot of nominations that were foreign to me, showing that I'm certainly not keeping up with some genres. I would have given Mayim Bialik the nod for her portrayal of Amy in BBT. Certainly agree with the 3 Sherlock wins, and though I've never watched Fargo, if Martin Freeman won his second Emmy of the night for it (first for Sherlock), it must be good. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was a surprise to me, winning an Emmy so long after Seinfeld. A few of the men in my family will be so pleased about Brian Cranston and Breaking Bad.

About the sleepover, FFriend had asked. Well, in a way it didn't go so well. The younger girl was in the throes of a miserable allergy spell because of something blooming somewhere. She brought tissues but needed tissues the entire time and at one point her sister was in the bathroom with door locked and the only tissue box left was in there. I ended up giving her paper napkins. Both girls insisted their mother would not approve of medicine for it and that this happened to her all the time. HRH and I were up with them until midnight because she just couldn't get settled. The morning went well and we enjoyed breakfast.

My cold is progressing, but very slowly. Took more vitamin C when I woke up and then will have my daily dose when I take my morning vitamins.

My tea isn't soothing this morning, my throat is too sore for it, apparently. Dh is enjoying his citron honey tea. I can't believe how sick he still sounds. Lots of congestion to be blown out, lots of wet coughing. It has been over a week now for him (and 10 days for ds.)

So I'm tripping over this cold in my preparations to get off. And it will definitely trip me up for the upcoming week. I'm supposed to write a service today in the car. Not sure I'll get that done because I can't concentrate either.

(This sat here for over an hour because the internet got too slow to post as people woke up. Now that they are on the road, things are a bit quicker.)

It is 9 here and we just woke up ds to see what his plans were for the day. They are driving to Montreal for dinner since TGF has never been there so won't be leaving here until much later. We are already 15 minutes past my leaving time but that's because we were chatting with another couple at breakfast. Actually, networking. You never know who you'll meet or what contacts you can make. In this case, the couple's son is on the board of the directors of the university where dh will be speaking this fall. And the daughter works for Kelloggs, another useful connection.

I have stuff to pick up and I need to pay attn. To the house here as well. 1st day of school in our district.
Good weather here today 59*-89*. I had a low of 54 just before bed had a granola bar and plum messed up my 12 hr. Fast so no blood work this a.m. for me maybe tomorrow. Having black coffee now.

Tripping about here trying to get the day rolling. I've read paper, walked ddogs and just had breakfast - omelet w mushrooms, basil and feta w turkey bacon and watermelon.

Tomorrow I will be on the road to see dsis - quite a few things need to happen today:
-p/u dry cleaning to deliver shirts to ds tomorrow
-p/u ds pants that were being altered
-get lenses in glasses replaced while in the mall area (my lenses have some distortion, so they reordered and are replacing)
-quick trip through grocery
-finish up lasagne so I can deliver to ds
-3 p.m. appt back here at home for proposal for pull out pantry shelves

For now....
-kitchen counters and breakfast bar
-meds/vitamins
-make the bed
-brush, floss et al
-prune emails, answer as needed
-start lol

Tripping is perfect description for my day. We will be driving with multiple stops -
** yearly meeting with financial adviser
** hospital for DH x-ray (in prep for urologist appt tomorrow)
** Plumbing part stop
** return LO team shorts and purchase smaller size.
** Vote

Hopefully these can all be accomplished in less than 4 hours (doubtful). I have to be back home in 5 hours to meet LO bus. If we hit a time sucking snag then I'll eliminate eating and voting. We can have a late (very) late lunch when we get home & I can take LO with me to vote later in the day.

Tripping out right now for my errand run....

On the road. Stopped early for lunch (it was almost noon by body time) at a great rest stop right on the river. It is hot here but high, high, winds which are ruining our gas mileage as we struggle in the wind. We have it easy compared to people hauling trailers. They are swaying like mad

Had a short walk, not as vigorous as I wanted because there were info signs along the path that we had to stop and translate as best we could.

By law all government signs in Quebec must be in French only. Private businesses must put up a french sign but English can be on it in much, much, smaller font. Same with menus (French 20 pt, English 10 pt.) But people who decorate diners on the inside, for example, with vintage signs - like "Have a Coke!" have been ordered to remove them because they are not in French.) Last night, we weren't in Quebec but were in an Acadian Pub in New Brunswick and the menu was much more prominent in French and the waitress didn't speak very good English. Luckily, TGF is bilingual.

Couldn't post earlier because I was too close to the US border and my USB internet stick kept jumping onto the US cell towers. Same thing happened with our phones (but in that case it is good, since our phones are US phones so we no longer had to pay roaming fees.)

We are going to swing by the house on the way home so that adds 90 minutes to the trip today. On the other hand, it will save us time later in the week. Dh has been putting off work requests this past week so needs to get straight to work.

Now that the house is sold for sure, we need to start getting rid of things and calculating where we'll store the things left at the house. Ds is still looking for an apartment so he'll be able to take some of it but not all. Hopefully, it will be big enough to take the kitchen table. It is too nice to store and he can use it as a desk as well as an eating surface. (He has very little furniture, having given it all away before he went to Australia.)
