Hello, villagers ~
Today's schedule was based on an early morning meeting for the library group.

That encouraged me to do my exercise before breakfast. Last week I experimented with exercising at different times of the day, which was not particularly successful. Apparently any time in the morning works ok, but if I wait until after noon, it just ain't agonna git done!

The meeting was quick and easy. While I was at the library, I checked the perpetual book sale shelf and found 2 books that I think DMom will like, and 6 magazines for myself. 25 cents each for the books, which are in like-new condition, that's a real bargain! 10 cents each for the magazines, and they are new enough issues that if I don't find any pages I want to tear out to save, I will take them right back so the library can sell them again.

Wrote checks and took them to the post office.
Saw something that doesn't look right on the mortgage invoice so I need to check that out before I pay it. I have been paying extra each month for quite awhile. This month they changed the order of the info on the form, and I need to confirm that they applied the extra principle properly.

Stopped at the ATM and gas station on the way to the grocery store. Gas was only $3.09 which is the lowest I've seen it in ages.

At the grocery store, someone stole one of my pretty floral reusable grocery bags out of my cart while I was in the restroom. It was not an innocent mistake because the bags have another store's name and large logo on them. I do that deliberately when I take reusable bags, always using ones from a different store so the checkout person doesn't have to wonder whether or not I've paid for them.

Oh well, the bag was not expensive and will be easy to replace. At least it was not one of my cloth ones that I sewed myself!

Not nice, Booksaver. I'm coming to Iowa for gas! Although it is getting down a little bit. Still around upper $3.69 or so. But NY is almost always higher. But not as bad as CA.

Sadie - that is WONDERFUL news! Glad DSon just has to go through the boring recovery time now. So very much to be thankful and grateful for! Take care of you - that was a lot of stress to go through! (((Hugs)))

Bookie - REally?! How thoughtless & rude! My VDFriend of 40+ years had her purse removed from shopping basket last Sunday. She turned her back on it to get a gallon of milk out of refrigerator. When she turned around the purse was gone.....and her DH had been standing next to the cart and didn't see a thing! The WM store had 2 doors so VDFriend and her DH immediately split up and each ran to a exit door to watch for her purse. The WM security people reviewed the camera and they were able to find her purse stashed behind somethings in a different aisle. Her wallet was gone though. It is sad that people are watching the us (shoppers) waiting for an opportunity. It just takes an second for something to grab

We were able to complete all our Tripping today. We also added a stop by ER clinic to get DH stitches out. He was suppose to have them taken out a week or so ago, but he tends to ignore those type of things. I just pulled up in front and told him we are going in to get 'er done. He didn't argue or complain. If left up to DH the black threaded stitches would probably stay in his arm for the rest of his life....

I have 15 minutes before LO arrives home. After hours of being on constant GO, I need to regroup and let my energy level rise a bit. Trying to decide..... nap or coffee? I think I will choose cup of coffee with feet up and total quietness.

I agree with you about Mayim Bialic on The Big Bang Theory, I think she's terrific.

I had the Emmy Awards on in the background as I was doing other things last night, but the only part I really sat down to watch was Weird Al Yankovich and his parody medley of theme songs. I have always liked Weird Al.

Dee ~ Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at that gas pump, especially since the station less than a block away had a sign showing 10 cents higher.

LadyM ~ I'm sorry your friend had her wallet stolen. Wow, that was a gutsy thief to take her purse from right under her DH's nose.

Our gas, here, is $4 - $4.09 a gallon!

LOL is drying. 1 LOL is on a 2-hour timer, to start washing later. (I didn't need the extra noise of 2 running things at the same time right now.) I'm crocheting on that afghan, am nearly 1/2 way finished with it, prior to edging, and it's looking so beautiful! ♥ My DGS-5.5 will love it this Christmas.

DH called. Sears had TONS of people, he stood in line FOREVER to buy 1 U of W t-shirt for his Dfriend's funeral. He got into the town's traffic there, it was all backed up. He went to the back, another grocery store, the drug store, and can't find my special floss for my teeth. He's at Safeway now, just called, to let me know he's running late because of traffic, so many people being out and the big crowds and long lines. Poor guy. He'll be ready for his lunch when he gets back, that's for sure.

I'm watching sports baseball talk shows, while DH is gone, and it's nice to keep abreast on everything now that playoffs are getting nearer. The Mariners are in the Wild Card Race, so we're hoping....

Dumped the trash, need to scrub toilets, and finish the laundry. I'd also love to finish the afghan today. It looks like I'm not going to be able to get to stories or pen pal letters today. Unless of course, if I get tired of crocheting and need the break. It's so beautiful here. Where I sit, I look out onto the back patio, lawn, drain field and woods. The birds, wildlife, and critters are entertaining and fun to watch, while I crochet. I'm trying to get up during commercials to move and do other chores, etc.... I'm waiting for a show to come on, which I don't watch, "The Bold & the Beautiful," because this a.m.'s TV ad said Bob Barker's guest starring in it this week! I wanted to see if his "retirement" from "The Price is Right," is agreeing with him and that he's as energetic and fun as ever!

Last night I attended my first school booster club meeting in 20 years. It hasn't changed much. These type of groups are dangerous territory for me because I'm a sucker for volunteering. This weekend is our little town fair. I'm already committed to being there Thursday 10-2, Friday afternoon and working a booth Saturday 5-8pm. At least it will be fun.....I think.

Before leaving home this morning I put ingredients for sourdough bread in bread machine. The house smells wonderful.

Vacuuming -- DONE! * HOORAY for ME!!! *

I know this is such a small thing, but as y'all can see, it takes almost a full hour to do just the main part of the house. * smh * And as y'all were talking about the other day, as long as everything is neat & tidy, the house will look pretty good... so... mostly thanks to dh, everything does look pretty neat and tidy around here 99% of the time. Soooo... it is soooo easy to ignore the general cleaning tasks, like vacuuming.
Plus -- w/dh underfoot mostly 24/7... and ds visiting for his run every day (w/dgs) -- which generally takes a couple of hours... well... it just seldom gets done.

Now. Need to s2s & color my hair. Maybe clean dh's shower floor while I'm at it. The walls don't get too bad, but the floor of his shower is TERRIBLE -- unless Mr. Clean visits w/his magic pad once a week... and Mr. Clean has been traveling too much lately.

Oy, pantry quote was about four times what we were willing to spend! Would certainly be a nice pantry but I don't think the quote we rec'd for re-doing out mbr closet was that much!

I need to get busy assembling lasagne finally. One is to go to ds tomorrow.

Have been in touch with ds and tomorrow looks to be a long day. If it's a four hour trip to dsis' nursing home, I need to leave here at 7:30 a.m. to be there for 11:30 a.m. meeting. But then she will have lunch so I'll have to wait to take her out and I usually take her for a drive. Then it's 1.5 hours back to ATL to see ds but he has a class from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. so I'll have to get there early enough to see him well before 4 p.m., or see him after 5:30. And then it's several hours to get back home, probably in rush hour traffic.

Wow, LM, how brazen! I try to keep my purse on my shoulder but occasionally slip up and have it in the grocery cart. Then I try to be aware of stepping away and keep my hand on it or keep it in my sight.

I've seen gas at less that $3 here recently. I filled up today for the trip at $3.18 I think.
