Wealthy: yup. Both in money, at least for the next while since the house is finally sold, and in love.
Healthy: well, nope. But most of that is superficial stuff. I don't have a brain tumor, or any of the other bad stuff I could have. And even my two bad years of health have not bee that bad. So I consider myself healthy but full of bad habits.
Wise: sometimes. I've got the know better part down pat but I'm often lousy at doing better.
Back from dinner where I didn't do better.
Also picked up one "Now Eat This" recipe book from the library. The books I've requested (on Saturday) haven't arrived yet but they had another in the series so I picked it up.

Re: Wealthy, Healthy, Wise Wednesday
Helia - Congratulations!
Bad news - LO has strep throat (they did a throat swab culture)
Good News - Doc said it responds quickly to antibody. LO should be feeling much better tomorrow and is approved to go to school.
Doctor said it was good thing I brought LO in today because it would have only got worse. Also good thing LO has tubes in ears to keep them clear.
More good news - DH has been released from urologist. Kidney stone saga is finally over!
DH went to church. LO and I are going to have a lazy evening in bed with our kindles. I suspect LO will drop off to sleep quickly.

(LO). LadyM, what happened to the kidney stones, did they pass or just dissolve?
Kathryn, well with all those mats you have, I wonder if there is much more you can do for yourself. Maybe wear those hot shoes and orthotics even when you think you don't need them. I am years down the road since my flair-up and I can walk barefoot in the house for a little bit. 2 weekends ago I did a grocery shopping in my sandals (Clarks so they have padded sole) and I have a sore spot on one foot. I can wear those sandals, but just not for long times and not shopping! I know I shall always be careful.
Congratulations, Helia! That is quite a schedule.
I got dinner made and dishes done. It was all too much work. I got really sick again. Nap felt good. I'm off to bed now, hoping that tomorrow will be better.

Harmony: I'm years past my back issues but I still wear shoes all the time because without them, my back can flare up (at least I think it can.)
Before I left for the trip, I could go barefoot in the apartment for little bit (i.e. from the bedroom to the kitchen to get my computer.) But most of the time, once I'm out of hot shoes, I'm in my slippers which have gel insoles AND the my second pair of orthotics.
Had a chat with my music friend tonight. She's still trying to recover from the death of her grandson. It has been less than 2 months so she has a way to go yet, and I reminded her to not push herself to hard and to accept the 'flare-ups' she's getting. The whole family is not processing this well with each other because they are afraid talking about it will upset the other. I pointed out that's why grief counselors are so great - you can talk to them without worrying about upsetting or boring them.
That's all I've done since my last post. Off to bed with the library book to dream about food.

(((LO)))
Kathryn, That's sad about your music friend's grandson's death.
CONGRATULATIONS, HELIA!
DH and I watched a mystery suspense movie on TCM. Sure was good.
Yesterday, DH had a lot of errands to run. In our garage, he opened up his driver's side door to get in and out of his car door, from this small circle opening, crawled a mouse. It hopped out onto the garage floor and ran away. Later, 14 MILES from town, on our HOT DAY (in the upper 80's - 90*!) DH opened the car door and out HOPPED TWO MICE, running across the asphalt parking lot in town!
So they're on their own, won't be able to find their way here, thank goodness! Tonight, Dkitty cat caught a small mouse in the main/guest bathroom, brought it to the great room for us to make over.
DH got on his welding gloves (he uses them to tend the winter fires with them) and caught the mouse, and put it outdoors. How humane of him. I keep smiling to myself about these 2 mice, getting freed from his car door, 14 miles from home, in town yesterday!
Wealthy: Not really. Pay property taxes and out-of-pocket dental for me, which has us "watching it" and saving month to month and keeping us on our toes. Wealthy in relationships and love though. ♥ ♥ We do "fine", but we're not paying car payments or a mortgage. We're still slowly recovering from a very bad luck 11 months, in 2013, when everything broke down, needed repairing or replacing. So financially, we're paying off on those things. We've never had creditors, or been late on payments or anything like that. But we're not Warren Buffet either. Know what I mean?
We're able to use my writing $$ coming in, which helps a lot. I'm so grateful for that, DH is thrilled and brags about me to others, which is sometimes embarrassing. There are different types of wealth, I believe. Than merely money.
Healthy: Nothing life threatening!
Just annoyances, but can deal with them, live with them, and am grateful I'm in as good of shape as I am and NOT like a LOT of others who truly suffer!
It can be so much worst.
I have my sight, I can walk, I might have a bad day here and there, but I'm not physically handicapped or terminal. So many people in this world have it so bad.
Just having pen pals who talk about themselves, their family members or friends and neighbors, makes me feel so fortunate and grateful for the health I've got.
Wise: The jury's out on that one!
I guess it takes wisdom to write stories, to present them to readers, so they learn lessons and are entertained at the same time. But in some ways, I'm not wise, like say, a therapist is wise. When I rule on emotion, all logic goes out the window.
I have wisdom when it comes to reaching out to others, knowing what to say, when a lot of people wouldn't have a clue how to handle certain situations, such as a death in the family, an illness, etc...
I got my tomorrow's "to do" list done, I wrote a "Special To Do," list and wrote 1 letter to a friend. I want to shampoo before bedtime, finish getting my evening routine done, which makes mornings go so much more smooth.
Have a wonderful evening, Everyone!

Re: Wealthy, Healthy, Wise Wednesday
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Today was a quiet day for me. I did cuop earlier this afternoon, but ended up taking a nap.
We've been awake each morning by 6:30 am since Monday. Sunday when dfam#2 was here ddil asked if we could take dgd12 to school. Her dgraunt usually drives her to school, mainly because she lives only 1-2 miles from them, but she had an early dr. appt. We live about 10 miles away with lots of local traffic around so need to leave about 8 am -- her school starts at 9:15. Ds called last evening and asked again if we could take dgd to school. Her graunt had another dr appt, dgd19 had early classes so neither could be there. Ds & ddil don't want dgd walking by herself to school.
Tuesday we got up early to vote then went on to do a few errands at a vitamin shoppe and groceries at W-M.
I'm sorry to hear that many here are not feeling well. Hopefully with TLC and/or meds LO, K&K&Ds, Harmony, etc. will be soon feeling much better.
Sadie, it is wonderful to read that your dson's procedure was successful and he was home so quickly. Hope his recovery goes well.
Congratulations to Helia for your new job!
Lilac, I was sorry to read about dd#1's ddog Ruby.
Interesting to see that others have trouble walking on hard concrete floors, also. I have a wee bit of scoliosis, just enough to make my right leg about an inch shorter than the left. It's not noticeable or causes limping, but I've had trouble lately with being on my feet for a few hours at a time and walking on hard floors in stores or at Busch Gardens, etc. makes my lower back hurt. It's not as bad if I remember to take some ibuprofen, or such, before we leave. That is another reason I am watching my diet and trying to lose a few extra lbs. Walking on carpets doesn't seem to bother me as much.
All right, it's late and I'm sleepy; time to turn off the lights.

Re: Wealthy, Healthy, Wise Wednesday
Hi everyone! Healthy? Ok, I guess. There are some things that I would be better off without (gastroparesis) and some I would be better with (better health insurance). Wealthy? Not even close, and unemployed to boot. Wise? Does being a lifelong cheapskate count as wise? It sure has made the unemployment period easier. I have bills to pay tonight, so I will be even less wealthy tomorrow.
Some good news: I found the pictures I had moved when the sewing room ceiling leaked! I had put them in my filing cabinet, away from the leaky area and covered. Then, I promptly forgot where they were!
Some bad news: My check engine light is still on and I REALLY don't need the expense. I haven't even paid off the previous repairs yet.
Today, I had lunch with friends, applied for a job, went to the last scrapbook Bible study, and ate dinner at church. The suggested donation for the dinner has gone up to $4 this year, but seriously, is there anywhere else you can eat dinner for $4? Especially since drinks (normally $2 at restaurants) are included. All the kittens but one are spayed or neutered and recovered. The last had to wait until he is done with his eye meds. I have reprinted some financial info that they spilled my tea all over. Pikachu keeps growling at Charmander, who was neutered a day after her, and apparently still smells like the vet's office.
I am having someone over tomorrow, so I will be continuing the crisis cleaning. But I really must pay the bills first (yuck). I may check in later.

Re: Wealthy, Healthy, Wise Wednesday
Sunny, that is wonderful that you have been able to take dgd12 to school twice this week when her dgaunt couldn't. I can sure see why your ds and ddil don't want her walking to school alone. The world is full of crazy people and it is better to be safe than sorry. That being said, dgs10 walks home with the neighbor boy. Dgs8 walks home also but it is just 2 1/2 blocks with a crossing guard for the busy street. Also, they are with their dad every other week, so are only walking half the time.
Elizabeth, I am praying that you will find a job soon. Someone will be very lucky to hire you when the 2 of you make the connection.

Re: Wealthy, Healthy, Wise Wednesday
Thank you Lilac. I truly appreciate the prayers. I am a firm believer in them.
I have paid my bills and it is ugly. No other way to describe it. However, they are paid. I am going to put meds in cats, clean the guest bathroom, then go to BED! (I am ignoring the call of computer Scrabble). There is still much crisis cleaning to do, but I will do it tomorrow, as much as I can. I am not even sure if my friend got my message about 10:00 am coming over.
