Happy birthday, Nancy!!!

Hmmm... tooting my own horn... I know I should pay some attention to this positive self-talk theme today, b/c I am very bad to focus on all my NOT DONE things and overlook the good things I have accomplished in a day... so... yes, I will toot...
Today, before sitting down to visit w/y'all, I
* did my short floor exercise routine
* straightened bed covers (dh doesn't like it to be made-up, wants his covers turned back, so I just pull up covers on my side)
* weighed & recorded, and gave a BIG hooray-toot for that, b/c my weight was back down two pounds after a pizza-related spike this weekend
* called local historical archives at dh's request, to try to answer a request from a distant relative who lives out of state
* e-mailed church office re: address on memorial gift for dmil
* e-mailed church lady who is overseeing college student mentoring program
* tried repeatedly to call obgyn for refill on meds (which I mistakenly told them last month I did not need. Miscounted. Have to get refill before I see him next week.)
* paid phone bill
* ate breakfast
* walked a mile w/ds & dgs
* watered outdoor plants

Now... I must s2s and do laundry...
and I'd like to do some dusting. I was good about vacuuming last week, but really need to concentrate on dusting. I let that slide a lot.
Also should check the website the lady told me about at the archives. They did not have the death certificate cousin wanted, but she told me another place I could look.

(((FF))) IKWYM re: the little "tiffs" w/dh. Actually, around here, things are generally so much calmer than they were early in our marriage, or even just a few years ago. We will celebrate our 35th anniversary in October, so you've got a few years on me, LOL... but I know dh and I used to argue about LOTS of things. I guess I've learned to choose my battles a little better, and I think it also has a lot to do with the stress level in our lives being lower now that we are both retired. We still can have our moments, but I have noticed they are fewer and further between.
Oh -- and that is GREAT that you are using the rescue inhaler so much less frequently. DH has had a few really bad asthma attacks in all the years we've been married, and he never leaves for a trip without taking his inhaler... but he almost never needs it. I can't remember the last time he used it. He doesn't take regular meds for asthma, just uses this inhaler as needed. But the times he has needed it -- that's been kinda scary, so I can relate to what you're talking about.

Yes, I think you need one of those heat mats, Kathryn... don't want you burning down the apartment building...

LadyM -- I've tripped in flip-flops before, too. I've never had a bad fall, but kinda stumbled. I usually wear lace-up tennis shoes or Sperry's around the house. I save the flip-flops for when these are too casual. Actually, I prefer winter shoes w/socks, but I don't have anything dressy for then, either. I have just about sworn off my "Sunday shoes." Much to dh's dislike, I wear pants 99.99% of the time to church, as do 99.99% of the females in our church, and I really have no need for dressy shoes. UNTIL someone gets married... or has an anniversary party... and then... ugh. I'm in a panic.
Thinking about what you said about LO's decluttered room. This is the whole problem at ds's house. The clutter is driving ds, ddil, and dgs all crazy I think. It is so obvious that dgs loves being here w/more open space to play in, and ddil -- as I've told y'all -- makes no secret that she is just about to lose her mind. And still... dbil drags his feet and we have decluttered/discarded NOTHING from dmil's house. * sigh *

BIG WTG w/getting all your paperwork current, Harmony!!! Boy, I'll be glad when I can tell y'all my dmom can say the same!

Tooting my horn, I have ... hmm ... changed the sheets! *\o/*
AND I did a full workout this morning (which was a struggle to get started but ok once I was into it). *\o/**\o/**\o/*

Otherwise I'm deep in the middle of month-end reports for sewing group and library group. It is also the end of the fiscal year for the library group, but I'm not going to deal with those reports today.

I'm also trying to gather the info I need to take to a meeting this evening for the library's building campaign. It is time for a ceremonial ground-breaking party which appears will be dumped in my lap to put together, and I need to know what, if anything, has already been planned. (We can't actually break ground until next spring because of contractor schedules, etc., but 1 of the major MAJOR supporters is not expected to live through the winter so we want to do a photo op with him while he is still mobile.)

My magic machine on the tv will be recording an NCIS double feature while I'm at the meeting. By the time I get home, I'm sure I'll be more than ready to relax with Mark Harmon and the rest of the gang. These episodes are the introduction to the new spin-off NCIS: New Orleans. When they were shown the first time, I didn't get to watch the 2nd part. I'm glad I looked at the tv schedule in time to see that they're showing both parts on the same night.

I have a new recipe to try for supper, a chicken/broccoli/pasta skillet meal.

Must get back to my spreadsheets.

Hmmmm, dh just told me that if they haven't already, that the time and temperature on the dryers (in the campground laundry room) is being increased. Dcampowner spent over $20,000 on new machines this year and he's not getting it back very quickly because of too many complaints of clothes not getting dried. Started the year at $1.00/load for like 40 minutes. Then it increased to $1.25 and when things still weren't drying a lot of people went to a Laundromat. Can't blame them. Of course the problem now is mosquitoes. They love that area. So maybe I will try it tomorrow. I will certainly help spread the word if they're working better.

Just finished taking my meds for tonight and guess I'll finish getting ready to go out. Still not feeling very chipper, but hopefully I will have an appetite by the time we get there. This is a very well known steak place with pretty good specials. I had never been there in all the years we've lived in this area until we'd been in our permanent spot for a few years.

Oy, just had a run around with dd. She is stressed about what she is going to do with her life and is trying to transfer the stress to me, so far successfully. She is considering applying to Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and wanted to know my thoughts on it. I'm frustrated with her because she doesn't respond to anything that we suggest for her but constantly asks for advice.

Then talked to realtor - he had a very lowball verbal offer on dsis' house and expects an offer from another individual on Thursday.

Twins, that's great that you are getting offers on your dsis's house. And sorry your dd is stressing you. Is the stress due to concern for her safety or something less obvious. A chance to study there would be amazing for her, although a lot of my Jewish friends end up visiting their children and grandchildren there because once they go, they don't want to come back.

I haven't accomplished much today but did just get the ironing done and refilled the vitamin container. Certainly babysteps. I'm also considering going to bed. I'm tired (despite a theoretically good sleep last night) and haven't moved at all today so think I'd like to just go to bed and restart bright and early in the morning.

I have a meeting tomorrow so before I go to bed, I have to make up a list of errands to do.

We had trouble watching Netflix while eating because of the ongoing internet issues in the living room. Dh and I had a tiff over that a few days ago. Sometimes, the internet works well enough to watch Netflix on my computer in the bedroom and the living room but I can't use Chrome cast nor the Blu ray. So my computer is tied up with the show, I can't work on one thing while watching out of the corner of my eye. I have a ton of stupid movies that could work to keep me in one place but I have to wait until we solve this issue. I think I'll try picking up a repeater tomorrow while I'm out. That might work. Certainly, we've paid to buy the Chromecast and it has stopped working so we need to try and get it working again. And if I want to work in the spare bedroom (a possibility once winter comes, if that room is warmer) I'll need internet in there. Ds says it only works at the foot of the bed.

Well, I'm going to finally TOOT MY HORN tonight!!!

I went to the dentist, for a check-up on a molar, which stopped hurting as much, a week ago, but it turns out I needed a root canal after all. 1 root was calcified, which meant harder work for my dentist and a longer time in the chair. Another root was long, curved way back around under itself, which meant MORE work for my dentist and MORE time in the chair for me! I was told, at the beginning, it'd take 1.5 hours to complete, but then was told it'd be longer. 2.5 HOURS later, I was done, and came home to nap in my recliner! I did REAL GOOD! I felt as though I was going to pass out a few times, from having my head down lower, but kept praying and made it through with flying colors. So TOOT-TOOT-TOOT I go. This is funny, too, because my cat's nickname is TOOT!

It was windy with a few light showers, while I was there. DH read his book in the waiting room. Then, we went to the pharmacy so he could pick up my rescue inhaler. I stayed in the car to read. I was worn out, didn't want to be around people numb.

The Mariners are on now, I'll have a late dinner tonight, probably Greek high protein yogurt, because my jaw's sore from biting down on that rubbery block.

I need to plan out tomorrow, as it's Anti-Procrastination Day AND Desk Day for me, the same day.

Ditto Harriet's comment, Twins -- (I know that is such a shock to all of y'all, that I wouldn't want ds moving far far away! LOL!!!) But also, that part of the world seems so... unsettled right now. That would be a concern, too, for me. I certainly sypathize, b/c it reminds me of dmom. Although she doesn't ask for advice, she always presents her sad situation... and never follows anyone else's suggestions. But * I'm trying to be patient, Harmony * I know dmom's situation as a still-adjusting widow with health problems is a far cry from Twin's dd w/her whole life ahead of her, full of opportunity and exciting options. So it's not the same at all... but it does get old when one has such GOOD suggestions and they just go totally unheard. * sigh *

With that much time in the dentist chair, you definitely deserve to toot that horn, FF!!! (((BIG HUGS))) I bet your jaw IS sore.

Dbil came over, brought me a late bday gift (gift card to Red Lobster... mmmmm... can't wait to use it!) and we talked about the house... making plans to start picking furniture next week maybe? Dxsisil is taking lots of furniture from dbil's house and he needs to replace it. I think it will all work out okay... just going to be an ordeal to DO it. Sooo much stuff to be cleaned out, lots of stuff (odds and ends/knick-knacks, etc) that none of us will want and then there arises the question of how to get rid of it. Sell to auction house people? Take to auction ourselves? Yard sale? Ugh. No alternative is pleasant or easy.
AND still lots of questions in our minds re: the division of actual land/property -- but I think it is pretty much understood that ds/ddil will be getting to live in dmil's house. He mentioned again that they could use the furniture he will be saving for dniece/nephew until they had homes of their own.

Kathryn, WTG on ironing! I certainly hope you get your internet problems resolved, b/c when people like you have trouble w/internet & computers, it makes me think there is absolutely NO HOPE for people like me and dh.

I've washed the second load of laundry and we've eaten supper. (Chicken stew from yesterday's event). Now I need to clean up the kitchen and flip flop the laundry. One more load to go.

Back from my walk one of dgson's friend joined me and filled me in on the school news. He and dgson will be in band. Saw a friends daughter today and my friend wanted to touch bsse so I call texted her actually after getting the number from her dauhter. I invited her over. She did she cards with me when I first did the P & P card file system.

I made a top for a baby doll out of a dish cloth I am going to try to do up a skirt to match as well!
