Hi everyone! Elizabeth's Own Veterinary Shuttle has had a workout lately! Yesterday Bolita went to the ER with an infected spay incision. Treated and released, but she has to go for a followup on Thursday. I got all my errands done in preparation for getting my car examined today. When I got up, Charmander had an eye infection and he and Pikachu both had diarrhea. Afternoon appointment for them, more antibiotics for babycats. (They did visit their new home yesterday and were formally adopted but the people cannot take them until the 26th). On the way, I was not sure my car (whose check engine light has been on for a week) was going to make it, so after their appointment, I took them back home, picked up DD12 for Girls' Night Out (in tonight obviously) and went straight to the auto shop, where my car will be staying overnight. We ate at home, played some computer games, and I walked her to the X's house. On the way, we stopped at her favorite park. Did the X offer to drive me back home? Nooooo. However, I do need the exercise. The car HAS to get done quickly. I need it Thursday for a vet trip, Friday for lunch with friends + volunteer commitment + state fair entry, Saturday for cat clinic, Sunday for church and DD12's youth group, and Monday for another vet appointment (William neutering) + a doctor's appointment for me. I was planning on waiting until after all these things to get the car in, but will it make it???

I was able to squeeze in some job search activity this morning, because I woke up early (for me) to take care of cats. Also some LOLs washed and folded.

Now, I have to figure out how to get 4 different meds into 4 different kittens. I think I will put one in each bathroom and the remaining two I will monitor in the kitchen.

I realized that September starts the Halloween countdown. Costumes must be done and the house must be in shape for guests by two weekends before Halloween. (That is when the party is). Guess I'd better get on those costumes! Gotta feed me, too.

Elizabeth, I LOVE your posts! You're witty, creative and so humorous! They are a delight to read!

Nancy, What instruments are your grand and his friend going to play in band this year?

Do you think your friend, who used to do cards with you, will get "into" P & P card system again or at her home? Did she ever do it at her home? :?:

DH and I talked. I'm on a very limited (to say the least) Gastritis Diet, so eating out cuts out so many of our favorite foods and restaurants. I feel like I'm spoiling all DH's fun. :( However, I suggested a place we like, which is simple, small, very intimate and cute. I plan on having clam chowder and soup without onions or pickles. I believe this will work out well for me. DH thought it was a great idea, too, and being near Puget Sound, the clam chowder should be awesome!

Laundry done -- everything is at least CLEAN. Some hanging to dry, some (lots) waiting to be ironed.

Also typed letter to distant cousin for dh and wrote two thank-you notes for memorials to our church for dmil.

Kitchen is clean.

I am hungry again. STUFFED myself at supper. Now I want to eat AGAIN. This is ridiculous.

Glad you emailed your dsis, FF.

BIG WTG to Elizabeth's Own Vet Shuttle... and BIG Kick-in-the-Rear to Elizabeth's Own NOT-SO-D-X. (for not offering to drive you home.)

That's great that you have a dfriend who did cards with you, Nancy and that y'all were able to reconnect.

I just remembered -- I didn't finish kitchen! I forgot to wash the lid to the gallon jug that the stew was in! Doing that NOW.
Tomorrow is another day.
