Furthering Goals Friday

Post by Harriet »

How can you further your week's goals by what you do on Friday?

Are you furthering long-term goals lately, with a chance to make progress today?

Hope everyone sees potential in today and is pleased to get further along!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, FELINE FRIEND & DH!

I woke up very late this morning but consider that extra sleep time well spent. I had six minutes to get things ready for LO but he made it to the end of driveway to meet the bus in plenty of time.

Cats - It's good to see you post! Excellent suggestion. We did try to catch a janitor, but they were busy. I could hear the sweepers running. Normally there is a "secret" door in the back that isn't locked but even it was locked last night. I'm sorta glad it happened because this is the second time LO had forgotten homework at school. The first time the school door were still unlocked and we were able to retrieve it. But LO needs to know it won't always be possible. I hope this will be a good life lesson for LO to keep up with his school work at a time that the consequences are easily overcome.

Their is a conflict with days of school that LO will miss due to his surgery and state testing. I'm not sure what his teacher will decided to do. LO will have to be tested early or later.

Goals? I do have several goals in different categories written down for the month and week. I am checking them off as they are completed.

Trying to get the word out that the dryers in our laundry room are now upgraded & working great! I was a happy camper (literally) yesterday! Finally realized I could post on FB in our private group from here -that will probably spread the true rumor that they are fixed. Know dcampowner has invested over $20,000 in new ones and had figured 7 years to recoup, but not if people weren't using them. Ya' think? (I like to use FB when I can use it positively).

Beautiful day out this morning. Been listening to my C orinthian chimes -so relaxing and lovely background sound.

I need to go see our friend about our trip to FL in October. She only wants to fly S west as she has to have a direct flight. Saw some reasonable flights today and I want to be sure she takes advantage of them.

Need to strip the bed and get going on the laundry -hoping the mosquitoes aren't too bad now. It's breezy and sunny so have my fingers crossed. Going to do sheets & towels today. Might be the first time I haven't had to rehang the towels after a laundry round. Yay!

Sure is quiet here. Neighbors on all sides are gone. The closest one is 3 RVs away. Then another empty & another set of friends.

My goal for this Friday is to have our laundry finally caught up!! That being said, think I'd better get at it. Need to gather it all first.

Oh, I have plenty of those too, Lady M -especially toward readying for a return to the south. Keep thinking of things I need to do -and it's all different than other years since I'll be leaving at least 2 weeks before dh. I know I have to list things out for him as well -just so nothing is forgotten! And I know I need to have everything ready for him to close up -not a small task here. He has to have someone available to help him put in the 3 slides on our bedroom side. They all have solid canopies over the slides which have to be held up while the slide is put in and then secured against the RV. The big solid roof over our deck just stays put -thank goodness!

Figured our average gas mileage after filling up last night -we're up to 30.2mpg. Dh was quite happy with that. Means we're over 10+ mpg over the Town 'n Country. But I sure can't believe how many miles we manage to put on in a week. We hardly go anywhere! Would stay home today, but need to check the mail -waiting for the registration for the new car and for our updated insurance. Almost hoping that it being a smaller car and more safety features that it will go down. Well, a gal can hope, RIGHT?

Morning ya'll...

I am up and going. Printed boarding passes, packing is done except for last minute items...need to lable dog food instructions and stick them on the dog food bags...need to do the same thing with my home made doggie treats.

Will be spending an hour or so at my desk, then water plants and get France's bowl cleaned. I will deliver him across the street later today so my friend can take care of him while I am gone. Want to tidy up the house and empty the fridg. Will clean up after all the my work is done.

On my way...cya'll later.

Whoops....forgot to add Happy Anniversary to FF and her DH :D

Thanks for this title, Lady M. Did some thinking while waiting for my laundry to go through the washer twin. I have several 'different' lists for end of year preps. Think I finally figured out how to consolidate them all into one doable list. If I go by categories (church/deck/kitchen/closets, etc) I can do a heading, put a goal and below that: steps to accomplishing that goal. Some are small, some are definitely not. So think my next 'up' is to print out those separate lists and go from there -ending up with ONE -she says hopefully.

Just put the 2 loads of laundry in the dryer twins and have to go back up in about 45 minutes. They used to be set for only about 40 minutes at best and at a lower temp -even on heavy duty. So if all goes well again today, I should have dry laundry. Want to get up there before they quit though -just in case the sheets have entangled. I know what happens then -and it's not just in these dryers. Had loads (pun intended) of mishaps at home over the years. ;)

Hmmm, I'm just plugging along here. First load of laundry is hung up to dry. Second is running. Salvaged a knife from my gardening bag (I used it to cut roots) and had dh mend it this morning (and while there was 5 minute epoxy mixed he did a pile of earrings for me.) Bed is remade with fresh sheets. Fresh towels are going out once I hit Post.

Dishwasher is emptied. I'm s2s. But then again it is 11 a.m. so that list, while better than some days isn't really enough.

Dh demonstrated the effectiveness of the fan in the office bathroom. I hate the smell of 5 minute epoxy and yet there isn't a whiff of smell at all here. That fan runs constantly so no wonder the clothes hung in the tub there dry so fast! Actually, keeping things moist enough come winter may be a problem (although I recall I can set bowls of water on the radiators to help plus plants help too and I have a good number of those.) Our house was so airtight, moisture build-up was the issue, not dryness. Here, it will be the opposite (and along with such air flow is the suspicion that this place may be drafty since the windows are older (at least 20 years, if not the full 45 but at least they are double glazed.)

Hope you stay warm and non-drafty this winter, Kathryn.

Well, no wonder I was painting myself somewhat confused over lists! I can understand your aversion to same, Harriet! I printed off each one I had in my computer under different titles. I had EIGHT, count 'em -EIGHT, FILES with differing titles but many were repetitive I'm pretty sure. Now I'll categorize and get them all in one file or at least a sub-file. Can't believe I was doing this to myself. One was a packing list, upon which were a couple of items that I had trouble recalling even what they were. :? ;) Thanks again for that "goal" boost, LadyM! :D I've had so many things running through my head that I'm up half the night with them. Maybe, just maybe I can get it all written down now in ONE place! (What a concept -like we don't know this? )

Dee, I am using "Workflowy" for lists - it's an online website - I can access from my computer or phone or Ipad. Saves the list so I can add things on the go, then organize it better when I'm back to my computer. I allows for sublists by indenting and a list can be "starred" to stand alone as a page. So I have all kinds of lists going....Someday, then a daily list as needed, ideas for things to do with dh, lists for mom and for dsis. Items on each list can be dragged to another list as needed, if I don't do them all today. (ha ha  )

I am heading out to go to county courthouse. I hope I have all my ducks in a row.

Just got word that dMacs can "go back in the water" for his PT, so that's set up again for tomorrow.
