Twins, let us know in the cleaning thread how you handle the flies. That is interesting, whether a strip would really be the smartest answer. Glad you caught this now - could have started up when you had just left for a week or something! Now you'll handle it fast.

Well, today was my trek to the SS office. Things have sure changed. One is "met" by a computer kiosk and asked basic questions to sort folks into categories. Even though we were all given (by the computer) little papers with numbers, they were not in order except within categories. Would you believe when the computer asked my own SS number, I had to stare off in the distance for a moment and think! I've never given it by typing onto a touch screen, I guess!
Eventually, I was sent (by computerized voice) to a window where there were humans. I kept dd's transcript sealed until they opened it so they would know it was legit. No problems. My one bone to pick has to do with our patriarchal society, so good luck with that, self. Anyway, they don't even put Mom's name on a child's form for SS card. Just the father. Never mind who was in labor for how many hours or nursed for how many months or whether Dad even knows where school office is.
Report from our wounded - little dog has been to vet and gotten an antibiotic for potential infection. That's probably the end of it, but she can go back Fri if all is not well. Dd's appt
is tomorrow morning, because her hand's puncture wound area has puffed up. I was not "on my game" trying to help her, since she was such a minor player in the altercation, just the unfortunate lap Tobias was defending, and the whole household needed attention. She used neosporin and in hindsight, I bet hydrogen peroxide would have been wiser. I wish I could have that blur of a series of homemaker mistakes back for a do-over. 
I've enforced dd's supplement-taking very carefully the last few days as we've been hearing the news about the enterovirus. Although she herself is a big tall girl by now, and doesn't have asthma herself, she is "on the front lines" at a school within a state that definitely has the virus circulating among little kids and older ones with asthma. So she doesn't need to help pass it around to other children in our church or family. She has doubled up (from her previous haphazardness) on multi, D and K.
I'm sure it will be delicious - she is a good cook!
It was quite the process - for several reasons. First of all, I couldn't find her birth certificate. I searched for 30 minutes, I think. A passport can be used instead -- but the missing b. c. is still a mystery. We last used it when we renewed the passport in January, but I feel sure it was mailed back to us. We're going to just order another copy to make sure we have one. Another thing to do.. . Then, dh had some of the necessary documents with him, so I had to stop by his office to get them before picking up dd16 from school. After fetching dd16, we went straight to Sec. of State office #1. They told us their computers were down and that we should go all the way across town to Sec. of State office #2.
