Re: Conga Friday
Not sure if I'm congaing or not but already have most of my a.m. routines done -just not s2s. I;m eating breakfast then will s2s. Even have coffee ready to brew for dd when she comes over. So nice having her nearby, even for just a little while. And the weekend will fly I know!
Think I really had a 'bug' of some sort the last couple of days. Know I was extremely tired and last night I felt just blah. I went to bed shortly after 8, woke up about 12, went to the recliner, woke up again about 4:30 & went back to bed. Didn't even hear dh get up and go out. Woke up about 7.
Not sure what we will do today -dd and I need to 'make a memory'. Yesterday she went to see ddil#2 and dgs2. They went to the zoo for a short time as it began to rain -there, not here. Then they went to lunch and back to their house. DGS is such an entertainer. Went to his room to bring out something and didn't come back out. But then they could hear him talking, talking, talking -such an imagination. Oh no, is that a SHE tendency -go for one thing and forget what you're after?

Re: Conga Friday
Just remembered I needed to try on my skirt. It fits much nicer than I even thought -though I have to turn the waist over once to be short enough. I was afraid it might not fit around but does and is VERY comfortable. My one problem -I realized yesterday is that I don't own a slip!
Guess they must have gone the Goodwill route when dh and our dks cleaned out our house. Guess it's been a while since I wore a dress. Have left the skirt on to see what dd thinks of it paired with my dressy blouse. And do I really need a slip? May wear a pair of short capris under it for warmth. Hmmm.....we'll see. Next question is do I need to press it.
DD brought the outfit she bought this spring to perform a wedding. She only had a small carry on bag as she'd left her warm clothes here to wear (and she sure needs them! 40 this morning!) But the sun is out and hopefully will warm things up a bit. She only rolled the outfit and nary a wrinkle. It's so becoming on her!
I bought a new jacket for winter (got it at W mart so was surprised). Will wear that though it's a doe skin color. But it will have to do.
As I sit here in the skirt I can hardly believe how comfortable it is. However if I lose any weight, as I so hope to, it will be too big. But I think it can easily be taken in.
Hoping LO is feeling even better today, LadyM.

Re: Conga Friday
I'm up. Had another good night's sleep. Listened to the BBC feed covering the Scottish referendum, dozing in and out. Came to at the 2 a.m. news that the NO side had won, so shut off my tablet and went back to sleep until 6. Snuggled with dh until 7.
Remade the bed this morning and took off the lightweight mattress pad and put on the medium weight. I hope that doesn't make us too hot. I didn't see my second lightweight one until the bed was completely made. If we sweat too much tonight, then I'll change it back.
At this point, the radiators without the fan are keeping the apartment at 73 which is far warmer than we'd like so I might open a window tonight. As long as the outside temp is above freezing, we are allowed to do so, but once it drops below freezing we'll only be able to open the patio doors (L/R, D/R and kitchen) and the window in the office because windows over the radiators (the remaining rooms) are not allowed to be opened since in the past radiators have frozen and pipes have burst.
The office and kitchen continue to be extremely warm due to the sun beating on them for half the daylight hours. Right now the bedroom is hotter but the sun will move around shortly. Ds's room and the living room (both with windows on the same side) are far cooler, I think that's because the sun is off those windows faster than my bedroom window. Which means as we get further into the fall our bedroom will be cooler.
I'm s2s and just finished my tea. Dh is off his conference call. Now to eat breakfast and get my day really moving.

Re: Conga Friday
Good Morning, All.
It is beautifully cool here this morning so we have the doors and window open. Dakota likes it as that allows her to go out on the front porch where we have a gate on the stairs. It is funny how she bark (just a low woof) at some dogs and ignores others.
I went to a Pampered Chef party last night. Wow!! that stuff is expensive. The lady sitting next to me told me the neighborhood to garage sale in if I wanted to get it much cheaper. Guess they have lots of parties in that subdivision and a lot of it ends up on the sale table. There are a couple things I would like so I might try that this winter.
I have to get at this house. It seems like I haven't done a thing except the 3 D's for about a year. I need to clean out my craft room so I can move the day bed in there (then I can buy a couch for the living room). I want to get this done before the kids come out for our anniversary in December.
Next up here is to get our daily log of BP an BS transcribed to the computer. DH has a cardio appointment next week and I want the chart up to date.

Harmony, very glad for Mr. Harmony that, even though this is probably uncomfortable, there's no further concerns about it.
Emptynester, you have a question in H and F.
The Scottish vote had me praying that the right decision would be made, but not knowing, myself, what the right decision was. In this day and age I worried about a nation trying to strike out on its own, but if anyone could have done it Scotland could, and the independence was a noble cause, considered for centuries. I guess I feel some relief, now that the protection/military changes won't have to be made and the strength-in-numbers philosophy continues. I'm sure there was some heartbreak for some very thoughtful and sincere people.
HRH wants me to go out to the home improvement place "for" lunch (grab lunch together at the same time). We're going to do a little bit of redecorating of the front bathroom. Paint, a new towel rod, look at some other options. I just look at myself starting another project with so many irons in the fire and wonder if I'm sane, but I complained about one baseboard
and the next thing I know it's a project.
Is anyone else wrestling with too many varied responsibilities right now? (Is that a dumb question?) I can think of so many people who are hoping I will do more for church, extended family, the school, health/procedures, ~~~ nagging decisions ~~~.

Re: Conga Friday
Yesterday afternoon dh called and said the plumber was on his way. So now our new water softener is installed.
Dgd18's photo session was last night. Dd2 called and said that she would call in an hour to tell us where to meet them. When she called she asked us to meet them at the studio in 20 minutes. They had been to several different locations after doing some studio photos. When dgd18 was changed, we followed them to the river, which is dry but the scenery was beautiful. Dgd18's boyfriend had came along. The photographer had this silver screen deal that needed to be held a certain way for different lighting techniques. Dd2 was glad that he was there to do that. Dgd18 had picked out a button down plaid flannel like shirt that had lace on the yoke in the back. In the plaid was the ocean green color of the pickup. Dgd18 had braided her long hair to a low side ponytail. The photographer is a female and she is really good. Dgd18 has always been so photogenic, so we are anxious to see the results. After a photo session when dgd18 was 3, the photographer at the time, recruited her for photos for an area wide phone book. They were living away from here at the time. I have that phone book, still in the plastic covering. Dgd was sitting on a rock ledge at a river, holding a cane fishing pole with a straw hat. It was the sweetest picture.
While the photo shoot was going on dh, dd2 and I were standing away from them talking. I started coughing and dd2 told me that maybe I should take C laritin, because that is what the dr. had told her to give the 2 little girls last week when she took them in, wondering about their coughs. Wellllll I wish she would have told me that then, because when I came home and took a C laritin, within a few hours I could tell a difference. I am not 100% but after a few days, I hope to have this behind me. I really want to kick my own self in the fanny, because I had even thought of taking one and then thought, nah, this is a cold, not allergies.
I need to buy groceries at some point today.
Dh is down to only 67 more working days until retirement. Sooooooooooo now he is trying to decide what kind of dog he wants.
Guess I better find something to wear, iron it and shower..........

Re: Conga Friday
Dgd18 had 4 changes of clothes for her photo shoot. The photographer said that she had a girl who had 20 changes. They did her photo shoot in 4 sessions, starting last winter because she wanted winter scenery also. Yikes, I can't even imagine the cost of that. Besides the more poses the harder it is to decide what to get.

Re: Conga Friday
Conga Friday is well underway here - I've straightened for dcleaning lady and she is working her magic. I have boiled eggs going for breakfast and dMacs needs to be at PT at 11 a.m. Then I had body work at 3 p.m. today. In between I need to do clean up/organizing for Rosh Hashanah here, and I'd like to also go ahead and make the brisket for freezing today.
Tomorrow I am going to an event at the TN State library, so will be leaving by 7 a.m. and getting back perhaps by 7:30 p.m. Dneighbor will come over and let ddogs out and feed them. And on Sunday afternoon dh gets back home. I thought I'd have a lot of time with him away but it hasn't worked out that way. I keep seeing things that I "need" to do before Rosh Hashanah - clean refrigerator, get out fall decorations and get mums on the front porch, etc. but the total panic hasn't set in enough that I'm actually working on those things.
