I too was hoping the Scottish referendum would be "right" for all. (I wore my my Luckenbooth Scottish Thistle pendant and my wee bagpiper yesterday in support of the best way for them to go.) I understand why those that voted "yes" want to be independent, but oh dear, they would lose so much without GB protecting their backs and the benefits they receive being part of the United Kingdom. I think some spend too much time reliving the Jacobite era - and it was horrible that is for sure - but sometime we have to move on. (I sure love the whole history of it though. Anyone else watching "Outlander" on Starz. This is something we Diana Gabaldon fans have waited for for years.)

I started my congaing yesterday. I spent a lot of time on my kitchen floor and today I will do bathrooms. I am trying to get the every day stuff out of the way for awhile so I can concentrate on my files that need to be purged and other paper stuff that needs to be put in the right places. Go gettum' Norma :!:

OH Norma, I didn't know Outlander was on. We don't get Starz so I guess I will hope it will show up on Amazon so I can download with Prime. Love those books - but not sure how they can film some of it.

Been playing with computer - getting DH's counts recorded. This keyboard is just enough off that I'm hitting the wrong keys at times. YUG!!

It is cool here, too, RR. Love to have the windows open.

MT - Ron Moore the genius behind all this did do some things differently, but Diana approved and all the fans seem to have approved also. He is very very good at what he does. Sam Heughan a Scottish actor and Cait B---- the Irish model are so good as Jamie and Claire. "The Wedding" is on Saturday night, 7th of the 8 hours this first section. After the first of the year they will do the next 8, all of Outlander. Then they have been approved for "Dragon Fly in Amber" for another 16. Google Outlander and you will be able to find out a bunch of other stuff. These two are so good together you would think they really are a couple. Hey, who knows? After this they may just well be. Oh, also check my Pinterest "Outlander, My Heritage and all things Scots". There is so much out there right now. Diana has again hit the Amazon and New York best seller lists because of so much new interest. FUN!

Plugging along here. Bedroom wing is vacuumed and dusted. Bathroom floors in the bedroom wing are mopped. First load of laundry is done, second load just buzzed for me to hang it up.

I had lunch and read another chapter of the book I'm reading. Also looked up ideas for dinner tonight in a cookbook. Need to decide soon so I can defrost the appropriate meat.

The living room will be harder to clean since it is all cluttered right now. Sigh.... I'll forge ahead but am not feeling optimistic.

TA-DA for me! I made the appt for mammogram! And guess what -- they can get me in next Tuesday!!! * whew * Won't have to worry about it long.

Also -- last night, I spent about 45 minutes in my zone -- computer room. Cleared out bookshelves in here -- took huge stack of novels to the study, alphabetized the others -- biographies, self-help/religious, misc non-fiction. I know -- it's kinda overkill, but I was a library aide in high school for 4 years. I have sooo many books. I need to start a library. And I need some way to mark those I've read and those I haven't. I really should quit ordering books from amazon, when I have dozens I haven't read yet on my shelf. And I should definitely donate some to the public library or something. DS was ROFLOL @ some of the back of the book blurbs from my romance novel stage...

I have not cuop yet and dh will want computer back in a few minutes... but just had to give myself that little pat on the back for making the DPC.

Also need to call my duncle.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi! I am supposed to be doing a conga but I had to get office work done first and I'm just finished with that. Had to call a county inspector about something and he was in his car and I could hear him driving and he stayed on the phone with me over 45 minutes! I just had one 2min. question.

So all that is done now, I must get something to eat and now I'm thinking I'm too tired to start in on all that cleaning.

DH's finger where they froze the spot has raised a big water blister. Dr. had told him that would happen. He goes back in a month for it to be checked. He also grabbed a pipe underneath his truck yesterday, thought it was something else and it was an exhaust pipe and got his hand burned. Said he had to soak it in ice water. It is ok today. So now I know why he was yelling at me while I was underneath the truck holding up one end of the drive shaft while he was trying to position it. We couldn't quite get it in the right position for the bolts, and he was all frustrated and told me to go into the house and didn't speak to me the rest of the night. Sheesh!

Got a new tire on the suv yesterday also. It was expensive day.

We had a bittersweet reminder recently about some of the time-span you mentioned, Norma. I gave HRH his present from near his clan's castle that they held intact for 500 years. And as we read more about it, the sad end of the castle was that when it had been taken by others (Spain, long 1700s story, oversimplified), Her Majesty's Royal Navy had to be the ones to show up to get it away from them. Sadly, those ships (not having the understanding of the meaning to Scotland) just lobbed mortar into it and wrecked it. It was rebuilt, but so tragic, really. But that does show that eventually anybody might have to call on their whole "kingdom", figuratively and literally, when they need the big dogs with the new weapons.

The roofer HRH has hired will work on our roof flashing right after he finishes a job for the Renaissance Fair!
(Elizabeth, are you listening, it's almost that time! They're fixing up!)
Obviously, I'm more impressed with him now! He says "what a job", because they want rare wood shingles, placed in a pattern that will repel water while looking ancient, not modern.

Successful errand to the home improvement store, especially the part about how they have people to install if we buy new top cabinetry. ;) So as to avoid husband-handyman-itis. (I know he CAN do it, I would just like to avoid living with him while he does.) He kept talking about a blue paint color this time, so I went along with that and picked about the same one he did, a little lighter. (Wow, paint is expensive!) I'm also going to be getting a new towel rack. But best thing, probably, if I get the cabinetry I want for hanging over toilet, is that there are cubbies, so a spare roll of toilet tissue can be in the "right" place.

Good lunch!
HINT - to get husband to take you where you want to go for lunch, see if the joint has a coupon on the net!!! ;)

Will note your tip, Harriet. We bought an entertainment book this year and have only just got our value from it (and actually it was dd and dsil who used it the most.) We haven't even used the movie coupons - we are too busy right now to do anything except struggle from day to day.

I mopped the floors in the kitchen and guest bath, hung up the clothes, put mats back everywhere, got meat out to defrost for dinner and vacuumed the remainder of the apartment. I haven't dusted because it is still too messy to do dusting.

Next up: nap for 20 minutes and then a snack (or vice versa.) I'm exhausted despite my good sleep.
