C I you cannot believe how much stress is relieved now accepting that the med tweaking is more sussessful today.

Windy here net is cutting in and out toddlerN just left.

Dinner is cooking in the crockpot.

lucylee, I was thrilled to read that your ddil is in it for the long haul and would even consider being a caregiver to your dbil, if needed at some point. It is refreshing to see commitment on her part because this generation doesn't always try every avenue before deciding to separate.

Kathryn, I just felt so sad when your ds received the breakup phone call from TGF. I was so proud that he fulfilled his commitment for the charity. That really shows his maturity level and confidence in himself that he will make it through this. I have news for her though, great guys like him are hard to find. Just sayin'.

Dh has 63 working days left before he retires. They have done nothing to replace him. Until they finally told him yesterday that they more or less forced the guy that was on the other side of operations to assume dh's job plus his own. Dh says the guy should be able to handle both positions, since the guy's present position requires little work. The sticking point will be, there are 3 shift supervisors that want the job. One of them had already told management that he will not work under that guy. The announcement will be made this week. Dh is glad that he isn't there to hear all the whining that will take place.

Hi everyone! I have successfully completed a job interview. Went ok I guess, I will know in about a week. The good thing is that they were hiring for multiple positions, which gives me a better chance. Had lunch and stopped by the library on the way back. I got a call from the X 'reminding' me about him having DD12 this weekend. I am fairly sure we never discussed that. However, it is our normal arrangement that when one person has her the whole weekend, the next weekend is the other parent's. He may have made the (not unreasonable) assumption that we would have that arrangement this week. Annoying, but not the end of the world. LOLs are running, I always wash interview clothes immediately. What if I get another interview quickly! I have been having major stomach issues lately, but (praise be to God) NOT during the interview. My meds arrived in the mail today and it will be better within a few days. My mom's check has not arrived. She is sending me money. I promised to tell her when I cashed out some investments. I didn't want to do that, but if I didn't she'd worry. Of course, now that I have told her, she is worried. Her solution to many of life's problems is to send a check. Generous, sweet, and caring, but kind of embarrassing for a 50 year old. However, if I don't cash the check, yep, more worry.

For those with curtain wrinkles, they WILL fall out. Mine are fine now. Of course, it took about 2 years!

Every family has some sort of drama, don't you think?

Phone calls and other stuff kept me busy all morning. Finally got outside early this afternoon and worked several hours. Got the garden all turned over, cultivated and raked smooth. Am disappointed that I didn't get much ready compost to put in. I'm not sure that project is worth the effort.

Planted the stuff I bought yesterday but drat! 2 seed packets were not sufficient. One had 4 seed in it. One was sealed up properly but completely empty. Really annoying.

DH had to go out early because of youth group tonight so we didn't get our office work done. His helper is going through our work, telling DH to go get more work!

Anyway, since the congestion in my head has pretty much cleared I've been feeling better. I don't think it was just the congestion that was making me feel ill. I think the congestion was part of something I had overall. Such a relief to have some energy for a change.

I made a crockpot full of cheesy potato soup. Not a low cal meal, but it sure is good, even has bacon in it.

Harmony, were those name brand seeds? Consider complaining.

My complaint about some fast food breakfast for a big gang here was answered in the form of a phone call this a.m. My complaint was that when I told the person at the window the bag's contents didn't seem right to me, and handed it back to her, she held it, closed, and read aloud from the receipt. When the receipt read correctly, she handed the bag back saying, "It will all be in there." Well, it wasn't. Two items were missing and I had been right all along. Frustrating. Anyway, they say they will send me a meal voucher.

Bathroom progress - today the new sink faucet and shower head were installed and new grout applied above the tub surround. I'd gotten the paint already. Also bought some extra blue painter's tape in case we can't find ours - so far, we can't.

Hi Everyone! We just finished up with dinner. We had a pleasant day, mostly sunny and temp is 82* now. It's just become overcast and humidity is up a little.

** Dee, hope you find your jewelry box and things get less stressful for you. Re: can-baked bread....my dmom used to make a date & nut bread around the holidays baked in a 16 oz tin can. It was delicious with cream cheese -- I wish I could find the recipe! (Maybe dsis has it??)
** Twins, you and Harmony have done so well in your houses this past week!
** I'm glad to hear that your B.S. numbers are better Nancy. Also....Harmony is feeling better. Hoping RRose is getting better today, Twins' cut knuckle is better. Nice to hear that Sadie's dfamily is well. ((LO))... still wishing him well!

We were supposed to take dgd12 to school this morning, but ds called this morning at 7 to say he had hurt his back and had pain down his leg. He wasn't going to work so would take dgd to school. Ddil was going to call dr. to see if they could see him this afternoon. He just called a little while ago and said he saw dr. for adjustment and pain was from a pulled muscle. He's going to work tomorrow, but will not be able to lift anything heavy, and will have to see dr. a couple more times.

I liked today's quote...I always have such good plans and intentions, but my trouble is getting myself together to carry through and stay focused instead of getting distracted with something else. I do much better when dh is not at home to distract me! Then, too, this house isn't as easy to work in as other houses in which I've lived. Don't know why I have this feeling---there are floors, walls, closets and furniture just like the others!

Seeds were Ferry-Morse. In the next section over from the Burpee seeds that have always worked the best for me. I tried Martha Stewart once, herloom seeds and nothing grew. I bought several pots of herloom variety tomatoes once and they died.

It's just annoying for the bunch of time that wastes going back, etc. and the worst thing is it's the broccoli packet that came up empty, and sometimes that's all I can get to grow here.

I'd be equally annoyed about the meal, Harriet. I've had that happen to me too.

Sunny, I remember very dark brown, dense, date and nut bread we used to have. But I wasn't aware dmom made it, I thought she bought it that way.

Dh and I went out for dinner tonight. In the summer we had googled best burger place in town and this place came up. It isn't far away but not easy biking distance so we went elsewhere. Tonight, since we were driving, it made sense to try it.

Amazing burger, dh reports a great milkshake but the onion rings were a disappointment (we each ate one.) They were removed from the bill. We'll be back. My only complaint was the burger was huge. But everything tasted fresh and healthy. That's why we were surprised that the rings, which were homemade, were so flavourless.

Dh is off at the male chorus practice. He took his dark grey pants to see if they are the right shade. He was surprised he had grey pants (so was I) but thankfully, we hadn't tossed them during the move. He'll also need a black blazer. The man doesn't have one and I'm not about to send to Hong Kong for one so he'll be buying off the rack. Walmart has a nice one and there's a shop for odd-sized men that may have one too. Thankfully, he has white shirts and a black bow tie.

Harmony... oh, too bad about your seeds. Yes, I would take the packages back. Sometimes the automated machines just miss filling an odd envelope once in a while. D & N Bread....yes, that's the one. It was flat on one end and rounded on the other from rising/baking.
