I've been doing 3 LOL, DH emptied the DW, burned trash, took garbage up, got the mail and polished the large kitchen appliances. :o

I made a "mind map" and hung it on my office wall. I put away tacks on my desk, tidied my desk, and found an index plot card, which I swore "disappeared"! So I made a new one, hand wrote the story out already and now, my new plot and old plot vary slightly.  I'll be logging what's handwritten, as I read TWO cards, then meld them together into 1 story. The things we do. I had left my desk messy because I intended to clean it off AFTER the mind map was done! But I never realized my plot card was on the desk, obviously underneath another paper. :?

I've put 1 LOL away, had a fever this afternoon, after freezing all morning, so o-f-f went all my layers. I'm in underwear, socks, forgot I have leg warmers on, and have jeans and a short-sleeved top on. I feel so much better now, too! I tried some Naproxen. :) Boy. It sure worked great.

Been crocheting on DGS-3.5's Christmas afghan. I'm on color #3 now. Am thinking about making it in 3 row stripes throughout, for a change, so it's different than DGS-5.5's Christmas afghan.

I'm working on my list for tomorrow, started my evening routine, and tonight it's baseball, flipping to the news and back, for awhile. Later, it'll be baseball and flipping to new season shows back and forth. I usually get up to do other things, in the evening, so I might finish my beaded necklace.

I made room on some shelves for books from DD, when she comes Saturday. I'll clean more tomorrow and Friday. The big storm comes in tomorrow, so if the power goes out, we'll have a fire in the insert (EPA approved & certified), and kitty cat will be a Very Happy Kitty! :P

Elizabeth, I hope you'll get the job. You've been at this job search with such dedication and energy! I applaud you, too! :D

Harmony, That's a total bummer about the seeds! :?

Sadie, I'm glad the Dfamily's fine, you're fine and Ds-18 is feeling so much better and happy he can do more things, too. It's amazing and wonderful! :D Good luck on your doing your exercises for your shoulder, too. :)

Kathryn, That sounds like a great burger, but huge! Too bad about the onion rings though. :o

Waving to Dee, :D Twins' Mom, :D Lucylee, :D Nancy, :D Rrose, :D and (((LO))). :D Oh! And Harriet, too! :D You're such a huge part of these boards, are so informative, and full of tips and everything! :!:  AND Lilac, too! :D Sometimes, my head's just screwed on tight enough! JUST KIDDING! :!: Have a super night, Everyone! :D

Eliz, that was a typo. Should be p/u as in pick up.

Sunny, thank you for the holiday greetings!

My back feels like it has seized up! I have a list going for the morning and will be up early. I took some ibuprofen too.

Today I vacuumed the living room could not post bc The net was iffy this afternoon. I spiffed up after dinner that helped. Time to close up the coop.

Happy holidays, Twins. I can't imagine how hard it must be to prepare for something so significant when the majority of the world is continuing on as if nothing is happening. I get frustrated when the world doesn't want to stop for me when I have something major (like corporate year end) on the go.

Got a taste of the significance of the Jewish concentration in this neighbourhood with pamphlets out on the reading table at the bank, outlining the holidays, the significance of each day and the candle lighting times and prayers to say. The pamphlet was both a reminder of what services were offered by that congregation as well as a primer so the rest of us know what is going on for our Jewish neighbours.

I completed one business task and am now goofing around again on my computer so am doing so from the treadmill. May as well get some more steps in today.

Have decided to join the Y. So I'll need to try it out with a free pass before the 30th and then sign up (to save the facilities fee which is waived until the end of the month.

* whew *
Patting myself on the back!
:D I vacuumed the kitchen/den/dining room and hall (these all connect together w/no doors, sorta a great room, but not exactly) AND the "guest" bath (which I sooo wish dh would respect as such) AND the computer room AND the laundry room. These rooms are what I always refer to as the "living area" of our home, and they are the parts that really I prefer to do when dh is not at home. BUT WAIT -- in addition, I vacuumed the "baby" room, for the first time in a LONG, LONG time. Amazing for me.
:D I also "focus" vacuumed the computer room, baseboards, tight spaces, etc. -- which is a far cry from saying it is completed, but is also a far cry from what it has had done to it in a long, long time, too. I really really need to declutter a LOT in here.
 Vacuum is sitting in master bedroom, in my closet door, and I still must finish bedroom and master bathroom before I put it away.

I have no idea how long all this took, b/c as soon as I got started...
Phone rang... dfriend, late dmil's housekeeper, who wanted to borrow some money... just $40... no problem at all, and I knew dh would agree, but I had no cash on me at all and told her I'd have to call her back when dh got home b/c I was pretty sure he had enough in his wallet to spare that.
While talking to her...
Other Phone rang... dmom... I should call my duncle; she had said in passing to him and daunt that I was in the parade tomorrow. He and daunt want to come to the parade; what time is it?
Started again.
Before I got finished...
Phone rang...
Dfriend again; she would not be home for another hour or so, could she call me when she got back in town? (Yes, of course, all was well.)
Before I got finished...
DH returned.
* whew *
But I finished the computer room before I even gave him more than a quick wave and hello.

Congratulations to Mr. Lilac on his upcoming retirement! :D

You know, speaking of job stresses, this is possibly another issue at Fantasy Island -- that is where I told dmom that ds/ddil are living. ;) One reason ddil is working this additional shift this weekend is b/c the hospital where she works is kind of in turmoil. Closed down one facility, except for ER and some out-patient services, and of course caused a lot of job loss there (including one of my cousins, who was a very long-time, high-ranking employee.) Well, now they've decided for some reason that they are going to do huge, major renovations at ddil's facility, and will be transferring a bunch of patients to the now-empty other facility. * shaking our heads * Ddil is afraid her department may see some big changes, I think, and she may be planning for more job security if she already has her foot in the door at the other place, too.

Good luck with the interview, Elizabeth!

Yeah, Harmony, you're right -- everybody has drama in their family, I think. BTW -- I am so glad to hear you are feeling a little more energetic. It has been a long time coming and I know you are so sick & tired of feeling sick & tired. (((BIG HUGS))) Hope that is all behind you now and your days just get better and better.
And ditto to returning the seed packets! How frustrating.

Ooohhh... Harriet... that is just beyond frustrating...
she held it, closed, and read aloud from the receipt. When the receipt read correctly, she handed the bag back saying, "It will all be in there."
Oh. My. Goodness. Didn't you want to just spill the whole bag back in the window and say LOOK AGAIN!!! AAAAAUUUGHHH!!
Of course, this is a common complaint here too... we always try to check the bag before we leave, but sometimes, you know... you get in a hurry... get home... open it up and ooohhh... so aggravating.
Hmmm... guess if I cooked MORE, this would happen LESS, right?
In better news, it sounds like bathroom progress is moving along well...
I always have such good plans and intentions, but my trouble is getting myself together to carry through and stay focused instead of getting distracted with something else. I do much better when dh is not at home to distract me! Then, too, this house isn't as easy to work in as other houses in which I've lived. Don't know why I have this feeling---there are floors, walls, closets and furniture just like the others!
LOL, Sunny... I do MUCH better w/out dh home, too... and I just wonder what the future will hold for ds/ddil when they move to dmil's house. Of course, MAYBE the new-to-them atmosphere, w/much more storage space than they are used to, will have an energizing effect on them, and create some momentum to get them going. Let me think... right now they have 2 very small (single door) closets, 1 * small * linen closet, 1 walk in closet, and 1 sorta half-closet (b/c the ac unit takes up most of the floor in that room.) At dmil's, they will have 4 regular closets, 2 walk-in closets, 2 other large closets (1 inside, 1 outside the back door, but well-sealed/enclosed/locking door) PLUS a basement, attic (not really enclosed, but partially floored) PLUS 3 outdoor buildings and an open outdoor shed. LOTS of kitchen cabinets as well... and 3 baths, compared to one right now.

Ooohhh... if only the wheels of "justice" would turn more swiftly... why on earth does dbil have to make everything take sooo long???

Need to get that 2nd load of laundry folded and put away... and the bedroom and bathroom finished.

And call my daunt -- ddad's sister -- re: parade. I don't want her to think her brother knows something she doesn't. Speaking of family drama. Which I won't anymore. ;) At least not right now.

AND P.S. *** Happy New Year to Twins & family!!! *** I wish I knew more about Jewish holidays. I should read more.

EDITING (10:42 pm, about an hour later -- my time is an hour behind on my own thread; I don't know how it shows up for others.)
Bedroom is DONE. Vacuumed baseboards, crown molding, windows, all furniture in between, plus floors. Did not move furniture, just got what I could reach w/vacuum attachments.
Bathroom still to do.
Daunt -- got voice mail, left message.

* OH -- the reason I'm doing all this "focus" vacuuming is because I really skipped the bedroom and bathroom the last time I should have done them, and since it's the last round of the year, I am trying to keep up. The sad thing is, I really feel like I've done something if I vacuum a zone like this. Sad -- b/c there is sooo much more to be done. But you gotta start somewhere, right?

Hi again! This will probably be my last check in tonight. I have completed the task of organizing and writing up some job search notes. I will need to write thank you notes to the interviewers, but I don't think it must be done tonight! I have partially completed the DPCs. Some of them are dependent on one of the others, and I was only able to leave a message on that one. Next up: some crisis cleaning and sewing with a mindless video.

Elizabeth, You're so thoughtful to write thank you notes to the interviewers! What a lovely idea! :D

I need to run. I just wanted to C. I. and say hello for a minute.

DH is watching Monument Men or something like that, I've got a health e-book I want to read, want to shower/shampoo. On and on. Then it's letters and crochet.

Tomorrow's Thoughtful Thursday on my office display card. :D

Done. Done. I am done.
Bathroom vacuumed... vacuum cleaner put away. Clothes in the dryer. I don't think I care. I may get them out and fold them though, b/c dh is just now getting in the shower... Right. See, we aren't just lazy, sleeping in all morning... we're just living like Elvis. Without the money... or fame... or the entourage... (I guess dgs is our entourage, right? LOL!!!) Oh -- and without the pharmaceuticals. I loved Elvis, but the truth's the truth...

Good to have all this done, though.
Tomorrow is another day.
