So sorry to hear abt you friend Dee. Was going to tell you that in fact w mart does have their big calanders in. Been there for about a month... They're over in the office supply section. Both sweetie and I got ours a few weeks ago.

Emptynester, I hope this turns out to be no big deal for Mr. Emptynester. Who would think one lead would be off like that... ... Well, he can honestly say it is a little thing.

Norma, agreeing Dee took a weight off my mind finding that box. We would have had to go over there and help her look!

Happy kitty story:
Right on schedule, Tobias waited for HRH to get to the back door and open it for him for a little walkabout before HRH left. He patted the door expectantly in case HRH forgot how to get out. HRH opened the chicken door and window while he was in the yard, and checked on some things in the storage building. As usual, he had left the back door cracked open, and Tobias always just lets himself back in, especially on a drizzly cold day like this. No problem. HRH came back to say goodbye and left.

A half hour passed and I was doing kitchen clean-up from breakfast. I heard a scritchy-scratch and turned around to fuss at Tobias for trying to open the cabinet door that holds his food. He wasn't there. I looked all around because the scratching came from somewhere, right? Nothing. Then in the back door window, I saw just the top of a cat's head, eyes wide. He was hanging on by his nails at the bottom window pane and doing a pull-up to barely see me! Big housecat, but strong nails!

Well, of course I baby-ed him shamelessly and he got way too many hugs, plus a treat. The funniest thing was his hind feet (wet), which he kept shaking disdainfully as he walked around. If his front nails bothered him, he never let on. He's very appreciate of warmth right now. He's been snuggled in his bed on top of the filing cabinet for hours! I only hope fleas don't jump much in the rain....? I know at the larval stage, rain will wash them away and deplete their numbers but don't know about adults.

((Dee)) I know this must be very upsetting to you and Mr. DeeClutter. If he did help the brother get in that would be good, that someone was with him. I also remember you mentioning this neighbor. Prayers for your community there, also dd since she would be sad about this.

Yes, Harriet, I know dh had to go in with his db and a very disquieting sight. But the brother, I'm sure, had a key as he came every once in a while and he must have had a gate key as I know dneighbor never went up to let him in. He was probably on the camp membership with him. Dh did say that dneighbor had just rented an apartment for the winter as he knew he could no longer drive that big rig to FL. He owned the go-cart facility near here so most of that racing community have known him. As I feared they're being ultra careful with an investigation to make sure there was no foul play. Most likely natural causes, but.......... I am grateful that it didn't happen this weekend. The weather is to be gorgeous and there's all sorts of things going on as they celebrate Halloween. Place will be packed. And there will be 100's of kids as they have trick or treating from 2-5. Everyone brings their families, neighbors, etc etc etc .

We're going over to the other side to see some friends at 5 o'clock. (They have 5 o'clock 'happy hour' -not necessarily alcoholic- most days.) Dh stopped and told them he'd need a 'stiff' one tonight -if he even finishes one. And I don't drink anything -simply choose not to. Not my cup o' tea. Or maybe I will have tea. I don't go very often because quite a few smoke and they don't in deference to me -and I hate to be the one. Nice of them though as evidently dh had mentioned once how much smoke bothers me. If my dsisil had even an ounce of that compassion.....

I am also grateful that today was a beautiful, sunny day and not cold and rainy. I went over a couple of times with bottles of water and g ade. We were especially trying to get dneighbor's brother to drink some. He'd been out there in the hot sun for about 3 1/2 hours with nothing and naturally under stress. Now for dh to get it locked up -couldn't touch anything earlier until the investigators were done.

Good afternoon everyone! Last night, I finished doing all the drawing on the Anna dress strips. Now, I have to paint them, but it will go faster now that I can assembly line them. I like the idea of National Psychotherapy Day, I could probably use some!

This morning, I got up and did two crisis cleaning slips - the back back of the station wagon and the front flower bed. Both were completed in less than the 15 minutes allotted, so I spent the extra time on other parts of the car and the yard. After that, I had a good lunch AT HOME, even with vegetables. Several DPCs completed (more to come though) and caught up on emails.

There was a job fair today, but I decided against it. I have not had much luck at them and people are starting to recognize me there. (A lot of the same employers come to all of them). I have found there is a danger of COMPLACENCY after a job interview. It feels like I am done with the search, but there is absolutely no guarantee that an interview will lead to a job!

Some must-dos for this afternoon and evening:
job search (big surprise)
DPC - must call the people who will be getting the last of the babycats tomorrow
pay bills and transfer money
painting strips on Anna dress

DeeClutter: I am so sorry your DH had to contend with that. I am curious though, where are you that Halloween is celebrated at the end of September?

Well... it's just about time. Parade time. Hope I don't look/act silly. Was informed this morning that I will be asked to "say a few words" at the community-wide pep rally.

Dee, too bad your DH had to witness that. I know it isn't pretty. I'm glad you found your jewelry.

(Nancy) hang in there. Harriet, love the cat story. Why didn't he come in the door like he usually does - did it get closed?

This must be the day for finding things. I was looking for something in my kitchen and I found my gel ice pack I'd misplaced. It was where I usually kept it, but it was all flattened underneath something else flat. Know I had thought about putting it somewhere else, but evidently didn't do that. I looked in the drawer several times but didn't see it.

Got the garden finished and the houseplants planted and set in place. I also put a picture up. Not sure if I like all this stuff in the family room. I'm used to it looking kinda bare. I'll give it some time and see if I get used to it.

I think the heat did DH in today. I'll be glad when the weather eases up a bit. He was up on a roof today which didn't make it any easier. His helper, who is young and healthy, drank all the soda and water. He must have been having a tough time in the weather too. A storm is in the area now, maybe it'll rain and cool down a bit.

As Dee is off with neighbours, I'll answer, Elizabeth. They have Halloween at her campground early so that the those who go south for the winter get a chance to celebrate it with their grandchildren before they leave. They also have Christmas in July.

We're home. Picked up chinese for dh on the way home and a few groceries and salad. I had lasagna and salad for my dinner.

The last two sections of the tower came down fairly easily once it was unbolted from the side of the house. It wasn't mounted in concrete so they just pulled it down (bending the bits in the ground) and then pulled it apart on the ground.

Now I need to sell the tower. Or find someone with a truck who will take it away.

We cleaned up, ds went off to dinner out with friends, we loaded the car with a few more things and put some big stuff out at the curb for garbage tomorrow. This is our last garbage day before the move so hopefully we got enough done.

Need to book a truck for next Tuesday because that's when ds moves into his own place and we'll empty the house at that point. In the meantime, he may move here because he's finding living out at the house too depressing.

We ate when we got home and then went and did the garbage and recycle here. At that point we brought the rest of the stuff up from the car and discovered dh left his medicine out at the house (he got an antibiotic to take.) Hopefully, ds will be in tomorrow and can drop it off.

Tomorrow I'm going over to dd's to fix up her front garden and possibly the back garden since dsil hasn't done a thing with it yet. I bought her some fall mums. Saturday is her house warming party and I thought that fixing up the front of the place would be in order.

Thank you for the new year wishes! We've had a full day - up at 5:45 and worked until I left for temple at 9:45. House looked great and we had perfect weather so had groups outside at patio table, under the covered patio and at the fire pit, altho we didn't have a fire. Food was all great and plenty of it. I think all were heading out by 5:30, we did some clean up and have relaxed this evening.

My back and feet hurt but I walked dogs 'cause they needed to walk - they were crated and missed most of the fun.

I think everyone had a great time and I had a great time.

Kathryn, yes it is hard sometimes to feel so out of sync; otoh sometimes I forget that everyone else isn't preparing for the holiday when I see a big crowd at the grocery. I love the info out in yr community. There's not many Jews in this community.

Ds called this am to ck in. He is extremely stressed and says anxiety meds are making him dizzy and nauseated. Will pst more tomorrow....iPad keyboard is making me crazy.

You explained those 2 holidays here very well, Kathryn. And I'll say again I am so glad that today was not Saturday. This place will be overrun with children and nearly 4 hours of investigators, medical examiner, etc would have put a damper on this road. Dh has said more than once today, that he hopes he doesn't ever have another day like this one. I'm sure the pictures in his head are not good ones. But life will fill those bad visions with good ones. A good dose of dgsons this week will fix him right up.
